When does term start? You can tell what part of the term we are in based on the month that it says on the main table at the top of the site. The new term starts in September and goes till June, with July and August being Summer break.

How long is a month on site? Each real life week is one month site time. So one month of real time is four months on site. Therefore every three months is a whole year at Our Hogwarts. We have made an exception for the month of December. December at Our Hogwarts will be two real life weeks for one month site time. This will allow for everyone to enjoy the holidays onsite as well as being able to participate in Holiday Activities (ex: Yule Ball) for a longer period of time.

How long do classes run? Classes start every Monday and continue on till Sunday night. Professors are supposed to post one lesson per (real) week. You have that week to attend class and complete the homework. Some professors may have their lessons extend for a few extra days or even another week because of long lessons but other than that, lessons should be updated weekly with a new one.

My character is a vampire (or werewolf, veela, etc.) but people keep saying I'm not, why is that? To be a vampire, werewolf, or any other magical creature you must register at the Ministry of Magic. You cannot roleplay as such till you have been approved by the Ministry. This is done to keep track and regulate our vampire, werewolf, and other magical creature population. If we find that you are abusing your creature status, your approval will be revoked and you are once again just a normal, human student.

Why do I need to be at least 13 years of age to register? As stated in the rules, you must be 13 years of age because of United States child protection laws. You must be 13 years or older to register for this site. You are required to be at least 13 years of age upon the day you register for the site. This is not our rule, but a rule of ProBoards and a LAW. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) was created so that the private information (IP address, email, etc) of children under 13 years of age would not be given out. To find out more information about COPPA, click here.
