[[Hahaha. I was thinking that exact same thing.]]
He asked her then if she wanted a joke. She thought about it for a moment. She smiled at him sheepishly before she nodded.
"Actually I want to know what you would have said. I know it was hard for you to not crack a joke. This isn't like you."
She said, holding up both their hands still together. God then the silence. Again. She really hated this. But her brain couldn't come up with anything to say. But she knew it was just in situations like this. If she could read Cory's mind, she would tell him telepathically that it totally wouldn't work if Sirius or Lily did it in class. Cory was just special ;D And then all of a sudden, she felt him pulling away. Omg what did she do now?! Her eyebrows ruffled together in the middle and she gave him a sad face. Before she had a chance to complain, she realized that he was joking... again. She should have known. Note to self: don't forget that Cory likes to joke about anything and everything.
"Sorry! I just can't come up with anything clever to say. You make me go blank."
She said with a smile. Wow, for some reason she felt like that last line should go in some mushy romance novel. Hmmm, she'd have to get on that. She smiled more when he scooted back over to her. Her position had altered quite a lot since she first sat down. She began this conversation cross-legged and sitting about a foot from him but now she had her legs folded to the side of her and her knee was almost touching his. She laughed when he said that his day has been pretty damn good. Not just good but pretty damn good. She was glad that she did something right.
"Well I'm glad. I hope I made it better."
She said with a wink Oh god she was not about to sit through another long silence. She turned to Cory then with an accusing look on her face.
"Well if you don't like my questions then come with some of your own!"
She smiled at him before putting a hand through her hair. Yeah I know, sexaaay ;D
