Aaron smiled a little sarcastically to himself and watched his cup of tea. Avoiding eye contact was becoming a little easier now. "You must think me to be a monster, Ariyanna," he mused, setting both hands on the table on either side of his tea. "But I am but a product of the world. I am no less human than you or anyone else. I don't seek the misery of others; I simply seek to provide every possible path that life could bring and to guide others through them. My methods appear barbaric from the outside, but it's human nature to fear that which you do not understand or like."
He wasn't desperately reaching out of deep water to save himself. He meant every word. While he disliked people in general and did often find pleasure in making them uncomfortable, he didn't purposefully try to destroy them. He wanted them to learn -- he wanted everyone to know about the horrors of the world. Hah. As if he were some sort of messiah. What a joke.
She had no faith in him, it would seem, and probably for good reason. Aaron wasn't known for being pleasant and inviting to anyone and for any reason. He shrugged his shoulders and grabbed his cup with one hand, preparing to lift it to his lips. "I know I haven't rubbed you and the others the right way in the past, Arri, but it really is unbecoming to see only the worst in me. I've been nothing but well-behaved for the past ten years," he joked, lifting his cup and holding it in front of his mouth. "And I have always been dedicated to my teaching position at Hogwarts. Always."
Aaron took a large sip of his tea, savouring the flavour and allowing either a moment of silence or a moment for Arri to speak. Hopefully it was the former.
Yes, it would be a very curious endeavour, reopening Hogwarts. Why had it happened so suddenly? Who was in charge of this event? Assuming Arri wasn't lying to him, then she had no idea either. Did she just want him to think that she didn't know? Aaron's eyes were locked on her as she spoke and for some time after as he considered the words and mulled them over. "Hogwarts will always be a home," he said simply. "And because Hogwarts has been shut down for ten years, I'm sure there will be a lot of people flooding in, children of parents with memories, children who prefer to be closer to home, children who prefer to have an education at what was once considered to be the safest place in this part of the wizarding world.
"Then again, if they don't know who's in charge, that will turn some of them away," he concluded, shrugging his shoulders and tilting his head slightly one way to emphasise his uncertainty. The situation was quite strange, and it probably couldn't get more interesting to Aaron.

Arri said nothing as Aaron talked about his dedication to Hogwarts all those years ago. Taking a sip of her tea, she nodded quietly at what he said, agreeing wordlessly as she continued to listen till he mentioned his skepticism towards the fact that no one knew who the next Head of Hogwarts would be and its possibility of turning people off. "Or perhaps make everyone wonder who will be the next Head of Hogwarts?" she said questioningly. "Perhaps the whole mystery of it all will lead to more press and attention to the reopening of Hogwarts. You never know, the whole thing could be some publicity stunt that the Ministry wants to orchestrate. Everyone knows how much they love to meddle in the lives of all Witches and Wizards in our world," Arri stated quietly.
Yes, it seemed that the Ministry was getting more and more busy by the day. She had seen an advertisement recently about open positions within the organization. "Did you know that they are hiring new employees at the Ministry? Seems odd that there are so many positions available. I wonder what happened to those who previously held those positions? Or are they making new sections within the Ministry Departments?" Could it be that with the reopening of Hogwarts, the Ministry was really trying to meddle its way into the school? Surely it was not like it had been several hundred years ago when that woman who always wore pink was stalking the halls of Hogwarts.
(Sorry it took so long and its so short. Tried for a while to think of something and could not think of much, hopefully this brings it more up to speed of whats going on?)
