Cassie strolled into King's Cross Station, still a bit woozy from the side-along apparation. Her mom placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and Cassie quickly shoved it off. "Mam... please. I'm not 4" she said quietly. Cassie blushed a bit at the few weird stares she got. She always got very shy becuase of her strong accent, but she was proud of it. She tucked a strand of her auburn hair behind her ears. Her hair was in beachy waves and fell down past her shoulders.
They approached the wall and Cassie looked at her mother with a bewildered stare. "Is this a test or sumthin" she said. Her mother grinned her my-baby-is-growing-up-stare and Cassie rolled her eyes. Thank lord her father stepped in behind her, wheeling her cart. "Step it" he said shoving her through gently. Cassie popped out on the other side and soon her parents came through too.
Her parents whispered a few comforting words to her and kissed her forehead. Cassie's father shoved her bags in the over head compartment. She slung her purse over one shoulder and her board over the other. Walking into an empty compartment she pushed the board in the metal rack overhead. She sat down and looked out the window as the train began to chug. She bit her lip and looked around, her green eyes sparkling.

"Aunt Sal! What sa that?" Vermira whispered to her 'aunt'. The woman bent down and whispered in her ear. "That's a train station." "What's a train station?" "You'll see."
Moments later, the duo were walking down the way and stopped in front of a brick column. "Aunt, what's are we doing?" "Now, what you do is you just hold your breath, push your cart, and step on through. It's a wizard thing." Without question, Vermira held onto her fears and pushed her way. She popped out on the other side. Soon her Aunt was by her side, and leading her to a big black machine. "What is that, Aunt Sal." "That's what you call a train. People ride it to get somewhere. Here, you going to get to school in that thing." Vermira nodded and boarded the train. "Good luck and I'll see you in the winter time!" called her aunt. Vermira turned around and waved good bye. "Remember!" called her aunt as the doors were closing. "You were named after Miranda and Vernita! You should be proud." Vermira nodded as the doors slammed shut.
She was at the end of the line to load her bags into a random compartment and started walking down the isle. Almost every compartment was taken and filled to the brim. She found one with a girl inside and gently opened the door. "Mind if I come in?"

Sitting silently Kira read on a park bench right outside of Kings Cross. A large shadow blocked the light on her book.
"Little lady you've been here for 2 or so hours now aren't you gonna miss that train of yours" a large man in a uniform asked his small eyes looked suspicious "do you need help? What time do you depart?"
Smiling Kira folded her book setting it into her black messenger bag and checked her time on a small black phone. Smiling at the older man she walked off into the station.
"What a strange kid" the older guard mumbled to himself "must be somethen' wrong with her."
Walking into the large busy train station Kira navigated her way to the 9th and 10th boring station. Looking around she leaned lightly against the middle wall and slipped through pulling her carriage with a trunk and small cage covered with a cloth sat on top.
Looking around she saw most of the students with their parents saying happy goodbyes and laughing. Covering her face with her long blonde hair Kira made her way to the train.
Moving along the crowed hall she turned to a cart with two girls talking. Opening the door she slipped in trying not to interrupt.
"May I sit here" Kira whispered. Standing uncomfortably she waited for a reply.

By the time the new girl walked in, Vermira was sitting down diagonally from her compartment 'mate'. Her stare was turned to the window as the station started to disappear out of view. Her thoughts went back to her home in the moutains. She would see horses every so often but she could see no animals, much less a mount or mare in these parts of the forest. Eagles seem to circle in the sky and white clouds rolled by as the train picked up its normal speed. It was quite scary riding in the thing. She wondered what school would be like. She also wondered if they would have to hunt for their meat, like she had to do a few times in the mountain country of England. Her common sense made her shook her head. Goodness. Why would a wizarding and witchcraft school make you hunt? She was pulled back to Earth when another girl stood at the doorway. When she asked if she could sit there, Vermira laugh. "Of course, you may sit here. I'm not sure about her, but you can sit by me."

Looking down to the girl who spoke Kira nodded moving into the compartment. Sitting slowly she looked at the girls around her wondering what house and year they were.
Looking down she sighed thinknig about the man at kings cross. Must be something wrong with her.. He's right if I can't even just talk or act normal how will I ever make friends and fit in...
Staring to the window Kira watched the tree's go by quickly. Looking between the two other girls nervously I finally opened my mouth but nothing came out.. resting her head on her chest Kira sighed again.
"Kira" she whispered "it's...its my name."

Vermira's thoughts were now pondering what her Aunt Sal was doing. She wondered if she would call her every night on the phone they managed to scrounge up. She also wondered if her Aunt Sal would send her messages through the little hawk they kept above the dining room door. She casted a glance at the girl next to her. She seems so sweet! I wonder where she comes from. Vermira sighed. The scenery turned to mountains and they sky was getting darker.
Suddenly, the girl leaned over and whispered, "Kira. It's...its my name." She seemed a bit frightened and Vermira was eagered to calm her down. "My name is Vemira," she whispered back, her voice a deep murmer. "Where do you come from?"
