Volume 1 Issue 1 (( WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?!Relax. It's something new and innovative. It's called a plot. xD We'll be introducing these threads about a week apart for a few weeks. The goal is to start developing a site-wide plot, not just our own little character plots. From there, the story will grow. The information that follows is relevant to the universe that all of our characters live in. As such, read carefully and do your part to expand the plot by responding to it and using it in your own role plays. For many of you, this will finally be that chance you were looking for to break out the good or the evil in your character, to take sides and see the world your character lives in as a whole. If you have any feedback don't hesitate to contact the admins with your questions and ideas. This is all experimental, so please bear with us. Remember - you can change the course of the plot through your own role plays. You can help influence where it goes, who is involved, and what happens. So get out there and start RPing! A discussion on the plot can be found in the OOC board here - ourhogwarts2004.proboards62.com/index.cgi?board=ooc2&action=display&thread=40740))Early on the streets of London while commuters were rushing about from tube station to job to school, a typical city scene could be viewed in the hurry of it all. A young boy, probably no older than eleven or twelve years old, stood in front of his uncle’s newsstand, brandishing today’s fresh London papers to the Muggle citizens who hurried past. In a strong, confident voice for a boy of his age, he announced the day’s headlines over the din of the early morning traffic. “Arson in Chiswick leaves seven people dead! Disappearance of four vacationing students in North London still unsolved! Met Police arrest three in connection with recent tube attacks… read all about it!”Hundreds of metres below the boy’s feet, a similar scene was taking place in the atrium of the Ministry of Magic. Businessmen and women were rushing to and fro from the many entrances of the Ministry and the fireplaces that flanked the atrium, all in a hurry to get to their offices and begin the day. Just like the boy upstairs, a wizarding child stood amongst the crowd as they hurried through the atrium, distributing copies of the Daily Prophet and shouting the headlines. Down here, they seemed much more dire than those above, yet strangely connected. A passing Ministry worker quickly exchanged a coin for a copy of the paper as they passed, skimming over it in the hurry to reach the elevators. The cover of the Daily Prophet was splattered with large, disastrous headlines and photographs. There was no mention of Gloria Gilspringer’s Giant Man-Eating Sunflowers today, or even the graduating class of the St. Chislemouth Culinary School. Instead, the following headlines decorated the paper: Victims of Chiswick Arson Found Dead in Chatham Wood, Dark Symbol Flown OverheadFour North London Hogwarts Students Missing After Attending Protest RallyJunior Undersecretary Templeton Arrested In Connection With Disappearance of Two AurorsMusician Samson Wright Held At Ministry for QuestioningMinistry To Startled Public: There Is Nothing To FearAnti-Ministry Rallies Break Out In Response To Recent ViolenceNo doubt about it, things were growing strange in this part of the UK, and it could be seen both in the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. For some time, it had been acknowledged by upper-level Ministry Staff and those “in the know,” so to speak, that times were getting rough in the East of Europe and Asia. The influence of the Dark Arts could be seen more and more each year, and the strange disappearances and seemingly random, unsolvable murders had come to be a way of life. But no one thought much of it. That area had frequently been full of these sort of disturbances. At least, according to the people of Western Europe, especially the UK. But now trouble had come to their corner of the world and worries were abound, and for good reason. The amount of crime and the frequency of disappearances of important Ministry workers and families that had long been out-spoken against the Dark Arts could be seen spreading toward Eastern Europe like a wave. The crime and corruption that the UK was beginning to see was just the first lappings of that wave, the people could feel it, and that was why they were growing concerned. Once they had opened their eyes to the trouble around them they realized what was happening and were none too happy about it. The people were also not very happy about the Ministry’s response, and even their role in it. Junior Undersecretary Templeton, for example, a man who was always portrayed as the paramount of moral authority in the land, had recently been accused of aiding in the disappearance of two top Aurors from the Department of Mysteries. Others in the Ministry simply pretended like it wasn’t happening, that it was all a farce and these issues were nothing more than common crimes. Still others were calling for immediate action against the individual threat, and debate followed. Thus, the Ministry’s response was nothing but a dull murmur of disagreement for now, while violence and silent disappearances raged in the background. As a result, young people and members of the community who protested the violence and were unhappy with the Ministry’s response began gathering in small demonstrations or exchanging owls with one another to discuss that was going on in the country. Others, both young and old, were quietly embracing the changes, seeing them as perhaps a sign that the Dark Arts were once again returning to the land. The only thing that was certain was that a change was taking place. Eastern Europe had been a peaceful place for too long. Most young people couldn’t remember the last time they felt unsafe in their beds, but perhaps that was all about to change. Perhaps the recent wave of crime and the unsettling disappearances weren’t just a chance coincidence, a random burst in crime. Perhaps something Dark was lurking under the peaceful waters of their community.

Volume 1 Issue 2 Summer had landed on Great Britain, wizarding and muggle alike, and the signs were apparent everywhere you looked. They were in the midst of a heat wave and everyone wandered the streets slowly with handkerchiefs pressed to their face and neck, trying to wick away some of the sweat that arose from such a muggy day. Though most people wandering Diagon Alley today could think only of a cool retreat on a Majorcan beach, or even a simple dip in their pool at home after this work day was complete, a faithful paper boy remained on the street corner, brandishing copies of the latest Daily Prophet at passers-by. If the news last month had been bad, this month it had only gotten worse. The headlines of today’s paper were as follows… Missing Aurors Davis and Hyde Found Dead on King’s Cross, Muggle Bodies Found NearbyAcromantula Poison Sold to Muggles in South WalesOne Hogwarts Student Found, Three Presumed DeadKnockturn Alley: Not Just For Dusty Dingbats AnymoreMinister Skern to Public: All Will Be HandledMinistry Riots Quelled, Protests SpreadLetter to the Editor: Rise Up!Minister Skern Suspected in Illegal Artifact ExchangeA passing wizard, in a hurry to return to his cool office, quickly bought a paper from the boy and ruffled the front page, revealing more of some of the stories written there. One Hogwarts Student Found, Three Presumed Dead “…Found near King’s Cross, London, the discovered student was hungry and tired when detectives found her but otherwise seemed healthy and alert considering she had been missing for nearly a month. When asked of her whereabouts, the student declined to say and was quickly rushed home by her parents before further questioning could be conducted. Interviewing of the girl is expected in the next few days as Ministry Examiners desire to find out where the girl had been hiding, and where her three missing companions can be found…” Minister Skern to Public: All Will Be Handled “…The past month's time has roused much panic and worry among the Wizarding World. Among disappearances, deaths, and unexplainable occurrences, the public has felt something no one has felt in years: a fear for their own lives everywhere they go. Many would point out that this is the way things occured last time; others have no idea what to expect. Questions have arisen, students and workers are distracted from their tasks, and everyone seems to require one thing: the Truth. Is there really something Dark at hand in Wizarding Britain? And just what does the Ministry have in mind to stop it? Cornered on the street, the Minister of Magic recently said to the public, "All will be handled! The situation is being taken care of and I assure everyone that all shall be well. There is nothing to fear and the public is advised to carry on with their daily lives." The Minister assures us that all activity is merely a coincidence, but are we expected to believe that?...” Letter to Editor: Rise Up! …We have listened to the lies of this Ministry for far too long. Dark Arts are spreading in Wizarding Britain and a Ministry Response must take place. We cannot stand by and watch while our friends and family members are murdered and disappear from their own homes.
A Ministry that allows this to go on without any formal action is a clearly Dark Arts-sympathizing Ministry and must be dealt with starting at the top – Minister Skern.
Skern must be removed from office immediately and all others below him picked off until we have a government that will address this problem directly and keep us safe at home.
I encourage you to rise up! Protest in your homes, your towns, your school, and at the seat of your government in London to show the Ministry just how you feel! Hogwarts students – Rise up! Help us change the tide of recent events and put the Dark Arts on the down and out!
There is no doubt that times are changing and evil has come to Great Britain. Help us show the Ministry of Magic. If they will not listen then we will fight the Dark Arts ourselves, with or without a false government…” It was no wonder that it had grown so hot in the country – everyone was equally nervous and opinionated. There was no doubt that life was unsettled. The violence that had sprung up a month ago had not receded. In fact, it was becoming more frequent, and still a full scale effort to battle the Dark Arts had not been constructed, furthering a lack of confidence in the Ministry of Magic. If anything, the Ministry had begun watching the people who were doing good, not those who might have been causing this trouble. Ministry Raids had been conducted of a few homes, secretly, under the guise of sniffing out Dark Wizards, but somehow they seemed to only target those most outspoken against the Ministry and the Dark Arts… curious, right? Citizens were beginning to feel like the Ministry was supportive of this trouble in their country. Like they willed this violence to continue, and perhaps had a hand in the Dark Arts. Even employees of the Ministry itself were concerned and unsure of themselves. Certainly, the tide hadn’t changed like everyone had hoped a month ago. Things were only getting worse.

Volume 1 Issue 3 The end of the summer was approaching for Hogwarts students and their vacationing families alike. Despite the nasty news abound, or perhaps because of it, families were still taking in whatever holiday they could and soaking up the precious summer sun while it lasted. Included was the faithful little newsboy and his family, leaving only a paper box in his place. The headlines of the day read… Hogwarts Students Stage Protest at Ministry of Magic
…A Hogwarts student’s trip to the Ministry recently resulted in a full-scale protest against the government agency’s response to recent events when Troy Novus, a seventh year student and Head Boy at Hogwarts School, recently entered the building and began picketing. He was soon joined by first year student, Autumn Rathjen, who declared quietly, “At least a few of us are doing something.”
Perhaps a ‘few’ was an understatement. For soon after Novus and Rathjen arrived with their signs they were followed by students Nicole Miner, Cassidy Daniels, Chase Christen, Casper Myers, Sophia Davis (daughter of recently deceased Auror Joshua Davis), Cory Benson, Jaegar Roskammer, Jenny Bay, Luke Donnelly, and Jared. Professors and other school figures also appeared on site, notably Professor Aaron Lathen, Ravenclaw Head of House Elessar Garrison, Hufflepuff Head of House Cameron Warren, Professor Donna Avery, Alumni Julia Thompson, and Kiaro Matuchi.
Most notably, however, was the presence of Abba Faltskog in the crowd, a high administrator at Hogwarts and the man who some believe to be is the next Headmaster of the school.
Ministry workers soon joined in from every department and were encouraged to do so by Julia Bridges, Head of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. This order was protested, however, by some of the other Ministry officials who arrived, notably Shelli Greene and Senior Undersecretary Seamus O’Keefe, who staunchly defended the Minister in a grand speech to the protesting crowd…
Double Funeral Held for Aurors Davis and Hyde
…It was a sad day near Kings Cross where two recently deceased aurors, Davis and Hyde, were recently laid to rest by a group of congregants that included Sophia and Parker Davis, the surviving children of Joshua Davis, and a small group of students from Hogwarts School. A few words were exchanged at the burial and the overall attitude seemed glum as those who came to pay their respects reflected on the events that led to these two brave auror’s deaths…
MISSING: Hogwarts Headmaster and Director Of Curriculum, Ariyanna Faltskog
…Shocking news at Hogwarts School as two top administrators, the Headmaster of the School and Ariyanna Faltskog, have been listed as missing.
The Headmaster, whom not much is known about, went missing several months ago according to students and faculty at the school. Not much was thought of his disappearance at first, said a student who wished to remain anonymous, because “we don’t see much of him anyway.” It is not known whether the Headmaster of the school has gone away on vacation or if something more sinister has befallen him, yet in these dark times we can only assume that the latter is true.
More disturbing, however, is the disappearance of prominent figure Ariyanna Faltskog, Director of Curriculum. Ariyanna Faltskog went missing a little over a month ago. Due to the come-and-go nature of administrator’s jobs at Hogwarts, nothing was thought of her disappearance at first until recently when no evidence can be found to support her reason for travel, nor can her whereabouts be distinguished.
Suspected in both disappearances, however, has been Abba Faltskog, the Director of Activities at Hogwarts. Long seen as the upcoming Headmaster of the school, he was first suspected when the Headmaster went missing, possibly as a means to gain position in the school. With the recent disappearance of Ariyanna Faltskog, suspicion has again been placed on Faltskog as a senior official at the school.
Abba Faltskog was recently quoted at the earlier mentioned Ministry protest where he was seen (and heard) yelling at the Ministry doors. "Don't you dare blame Arri's disapearance on me. You already tried that with the Headmaster. If one or both are dead, there bodies will turn up. Now shut the hell up, get back to work and stop wasting my time. And don't forget who you work for!" Is it possible that this high ranking administrator could have done away with both the Headmaster and Ariyanna Faltskog? But why? Is it possible that he wants to gain all power at Hogwarts? Will he be doing away with Carma Rousseau, Hogwarts' Student Relations Adviser, after she has given birth?... The following stories were nothing but blurbs on the main page, at least for now. Many were cheery, addressing the beautiful weather or the important quidditch games of the day, but a few more were not so charming, for instance… Pressured by Rallies, Wizengamot Meets to Discuss Impeachment of Minister Skern
Parents Discuss: Is Hogwarts Safe For Our Children?
11pm Curfew Enforced in Diagon Alley
Is the Owl Post being censored?
Ministry Promises “Measures” Against Public If Violence Continues
Black Market Sales Spread to Hogsmeade, Wishing Wells Though a bright summer sun was shining overhead today, it certainly did seem like the future was going to be significantly more gloomy.

Volume 1, Issue 4 The little paper boy looked grim today as he peddled his papers on the streetcorner, casting an occasional worried eye over his shoulder. Maybe it was the new curfew on this little town, or the threat of dementor attacks. Or perhaps it was the way the paper today seemed a little... bent. Since when was the Daily Prophet so pro-Ministry? Either way, the young paper boy did not look happy while he sold his papers, the headlines splashed all across the front page...
Hogwarts Professors Attacked By Dementors In Diagon Alley Past Curfew (Click for thread.) ...Hogwarts Professors Kath Blackthorn and Kiaro Matuchi were spotted in Diagon Alley past curfew this week. A shop patron living in above her shop spotted the pair wandering the streets and watched as six Dementors swept around them, investigating the young professors breaking curfew. In what could have been a terrible event, Matuchi and Blackthorn each produced a patronus, managing to escape the half-dozen Dementors and flee Diagon Alley before further enforcements could arrive. This, perhaps, shows us just how much Hogwarts is teaching their students and how much the Ministry is intent on enforcing this curfew to ensure people stay off the streets past eleven... Ministry Safety Measures: Owl Post Censored, Hogsmeade Curfew Initiated, Diagon Alley Curfew Lowered To 10pm...In an attempt to protect the people of the United Kingdom, the Ministry of Magic has issued safety orders to keep peace and order amongst us. The owl post will now be censored to ensure that no one is passing messages along to the arsonists, murderers, and the law-breakers who have been ruining our homes. Inspections of the post are said to be at random. Furthermore, residents and shoppers of Hogsmeade will now have to be off the streets by ten o'clock, or else taken into custody for questions and/or their own safety. To keep the curfew enforced in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, the Ministry has ordered Dementors, the guards of Azkaban prison, to watch over the streets after ten o'clock. Minister Skern, who is quickly undergoing revulsion from the people, still ensures that the public will be safe as long as they mind the safety precautions... Ariyanna Faltskog Found Alive... Barely (Click for thread.)...In a jubilant turn of events, Ariyanna Faltskog, the Director of Curriculum at Hogwarts who was presumed dead a month ago, was found this week by students on the school's grounds. A press conference was held directly afterward in the Ministry of Magic where Julia Bridges, the first Ministry Official on the scene, spoke; "Ms. Ariyanna Faltskog was found this afternoon by students on the edge of the Hogwarts grounds. She was in poor condition when they found her. Aside from the numerous bruises and cuts on her body she may have broken bones and was unconscious when found. She was immediately taken to the school's Hospital Wing for treatment by their skilled Healer, Mr. Junior Floyd. Further investigation into Ariyanna Faltskog's disappearance, as well as into the Prime Subject, Mr. Abba Faltskog, is pending..." Spotlight on Abba Faltskog: Ariyanna Faltskog's Kidnapper?...Being the recent ex-husband of the recently-missing, now-found Ariyanna Faltskog, Abba Faltskog is a primary suspect in the case of her disappearance. Found in terrible condition just outside the Forbidden Forest of the Hogwarts grounds, the Director of Curriculum at Hogwarts School had been missing for two months and left no trace to her whereabouts. Now, without any clue as to who or what is behind her condition, her ex-husband is under prime suspicion. Contacts of the pair say that Abba Faltskog has often mentioned taking over as Headmaster of the school, and it has been said that the relationship between himself and his ex-wife was not always the fairytale existence that was imagined. Mr. Faltskog is under Ministry suspicion and is due to be questioned on her disappearance later this week... Hogwarts Students Protest Once Again At Ministry (Click for thread.)...Hogwarts students Luke Donnelly, Cassie Jordyn, and Indy Millan camped out at Ministry headquarters in an act of protest. Shelli Greene, a worker at the Ministry of Magic, attempted to break up the protest but the students were not easily budged from their impromptu camp-out on the Ministry's floor. Are the students at Hogwarts school becoming too rebellious? Is this what their professors are teaching them?... Ministry Officials To Visit Hogwarts: Ease Worries of Parents, Establish Friendship and Trust With Students...To bolster the protection at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and to ease the worries of students and their families, Ministry officials will drop by the school to keep an eye on the students, the events, and the overall security of the school itself routinely this month. They will work on a rotating schedule, alternating days of security, to ensure that a variety of people can keep an eye on Hogwarts and to help quell and further protests...[/center]

Volume 1, Issue 5 TOP STORIES Hogwarts Graduation Goes Off Without A Hitch (Click here for thread.)...The Term 16 Graduating Class of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry recently walked across the stage this month without a hitch or a threat, boosting confidence in the recently beleaguered school. This year's graduating class consisted of Chase Christen, a Gryffindor student, and Troy Novus, a Hufflepuff. Naturally, the Daily Prophet wishes these students the best of luck as they embark into the adult world... Ariyanna Faltskog Wakes, Story Still Unknown (Click here for thread.)... Ariyanna Faltskog, the Hogwarts Administrator recently found by students on school grounds, has woken from her slumber in the school's Hospital Wing and is expected to make a full recovery from her injuries. Just what happened to the well-respected Director of the school, however, is still unknown. Mrs. Faltskog was missing from her post at Hogwarts school for approximately two months and appears to have been badly injured wherever she was held. The top suspect in her disappearance remains Abba Faltskog, a chief Administrator of the school, who has not yet been apprehended by Ministry officials due to a lack of evidence supporting their case. Still missing is the Headmaster of the school who has not been seen for approximately three months and who disappeared one month before Ariyanna Faltskog. The Headmaster of the school has been presumed dead... Funeral To Be Held For Missing Headmaster...A funeral will be held on the Hogwarts grounds this month for the mysterious Headmaster of the school. Presumed dead, the Headmaster, about whom little is known, went missing approximately three months ago. With no trace to be found, the Ministry of Magic has abandoned its investigation into the old man's disappearance and declared him to be dead. It is uncertain who will take the Headmaster's place at the school. Although Abba Faltskog has long been seen as a front-runner to take the post of Headmaster, he is currently accused in the disappearance of recently found, and medically incapacitated, Administrator Ariyanna Faltskog. Carma Rousseau, the third Administrator of the school, remains in good health and yet has served in her position for a shorter amount of time than Mr. and Mrs. Faltskog. The Headmaster's funeral will consist of a reading and candlelight vigil. Students and Staff of the school, as well as Alumni, are welcome to join and say a few words for their departed Headmaster... Four Found Dead in Wishing Wells (Click for thread.)...Four members of the Garrison family were found dead this month in Wishing Wells, a tiny residential village on the outskirts of Hogwarts school. Found by the school's Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, Elessar Garrison, the family members were all found to be killed execution-style and bound in a room of Avalon Manor together. Ministry investigations into the matter are still inconclusive. Mr. Elessar Garrison currently stands as the Prime Suspect in the killings since no others have yet been found... Anonymous Letter to Prophet: "We Are Coming"...The Offices of the Daily Prophet were shocked and rattled this week with the reception of an anonymous letter that arrived by owl post from a supposedly ill-meaning wizard. Excerpts of the letter can be read below... "...It's time to start printing truth. Dark magic is on the rise...
...The Wizarding World is far superior to that of the Muggles. We must rise up to prevent our Muggle neighbours and all who sympathize with them from destroying this planet with their wars and conflict. Muggles, muggle-borns, and the wizards who sympathize with them are destroying our way of life...
...For too long have wizarding folk been forced to remain 'quiet,' to remain 'underground.' It is time that we took back this world that we rightfully own and cleanse the planet of all who try to oppress us...
...Like the Ministry of Magic oppresses its citizens, Muggles are oppressing the entire wizarding world...
...'Light' magic is weak. We need the strength and force that comes with Dark magic to rule this world. Only through murder, corruption, and the toppling of government will we achieve the perfect wizarding world that is rightfully ours...
..Tell the world. We're coming. And you're either with us, or you're dead. Make a decision."Other top stories included... Richard and Penelope Reynolds It was a devastating day for the people of Godric's Hollow. Richard and Penelope Reynolds, 29 and 28 respectively, were found dead in their home on August 26th. The couple, married a few weeks earlier, were prominent workers in the Ministry of Magic, and both were employees of the Department of Mysteries. Muggles in the area were said to spot a glowing, green skull in the sky, with a snake protruding from its mouth (the infamous Dark Mark). Investigations are still underway. The viewing will be on September 2nd at 3:00 P.M., with funeral following at approximately 4:15 P.M. Neighbors of the Reynolds' were shocked, saying that "they were two of the nicest people they had ever known."
Trent Wood Trent Wood, 22, was found dead in his small London apartment on August 28th. Son of famous Quidditch player Oliver Wood of Puddlemere United, Trent was found with his wand lying next to him. He appears to have been murdered by use of a Muggle instrument called a "gun", due to the apparent bullet wounds in his chest. Oliver Wood commented, "We have no idea who would do such a thing." His wife, Katie, declined to comment. Trent was working his way up in the Quidditch ranks just like his father, and had been about to try-out for the Kenmare Kestrels. The viewing will be held on September 2nd at 5:00 P.M., funeral on September 3rd at 11:00 A.M.
The McKinley Family Sorrow fills the capital city of Ireland in recent days. A family of five has been found dead in their Dublin home. One of which was witch Yolanda Warrington-McKinley, 34. Her husband, Muggle Darren McKinley, 36, was found dead also. If that wasn't enough, their three young children were discovered dead in their beds (Mimi and Kairi, 6, and Wesley, 4). The neighbors reported suspicions to the Muggle law enforcement, called the "police", when after odd noises coming from their house one night, nobody was seen entering or leaving the house for several days. It is guessed that they were murdered around August 27th, although they were not found until August 29th. The viewing for the entire family will be on September 6th at 2:00 P.M., the funeral the same day beginning at 3:50 P.M. Special Thanks to Troy Novus for coming up with and writing the Obituaries.

Volume 1, Issue 6Top StoriesLetter to the Editor: Now that we have risen, it is time to organize....The students of Hogwarts have done an excellent job rising up and speaking out against the Ministry of Magic. But we now realize that the Ministry of Magic is only a small entity in what is plaguing our society today. The people who have made our friends and family members disappear, who have attacked our sacred ceremonies and stolen our livelihoods away, claim to be doing these things in the best interest of society. It is up to us to decide that is in our own best interests. And this violence is not. It is not enough to rise up, we have to ORGANIZE and show these people who's boss. The Ministry of Magic may be weak and incompetent, but they are not doing this to us. It is those who lurk in the shadows, those who refuse to show us their true identities while they worship the Dark Arts and supposed 'revitalization' of society who have done this to us. We must organize at once, starting in Hogwarts School, and show them that we are strong, we are united, and they can not hurt us any longer... Two Birds, One Stone?...The funeral for Hogwart's Headmaster evidently lead to the death of another, Jennifer Friedsdale reports. What had started as a simple funeral and mourning for the presumed Headmaster turned into a disaster. A freak accident occurred when a forest fire started from a stray cigar. The fire roared, and a tree fell over the cemetery's path, killing the newest headmaster, Abba Faltskog, and trapping observers inside. Faltskog had made his position known during his speech just minutes before. His body is yet to be recovered... See FUNERAL on Page A2Hogwarts Express Scare...The Hogwarts Express recently had an intrusion on its first yearly run, involving a man demanding to get on the Hogwarts Express to give some information to a professor, but the detail of the message was not released to the press. If you have any information on the details of the note, please contact the Daily Prophet at once... Birth Of A Future Administrator?...An anonymous picture of a baby girl and her mother, Student Relations Advisor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was sent into the Daily Prophet. The healthy baby girl, Giselle Kiaro Rousseau was born to Carma Rousseau around the time Arri Faltskog was found. Faltskog, who is still recovering from her attack, was declared ‘unfit to run’ by Junior Floyd, Nurse of Hogwarts. Rousseau’s position is undeclared at the present, but suspicion falls that no other administrator is fit for the position... See BIRTH on Page A3Train Derailment Causes Casualties...On October 21st, at precisely 11:26 am, the Hogwarts Express derailed for the first time in over a century. Three students were flown to the nearest hospital in London but were confirmed dead upon arrival. The Hogwarts Express has been officially closed by officials at the station as the tracks are fixed and a new train is put in replace of the prior Hogwarts Express. Confusion is abound as to how the train in fact derailed considering the regular testing and monitoring of the facilities. Rumor is abound that tampering was involved, but the culprit is most likely a simple mechanical failure... See DERAILMENT on Page A4Gringotts Robbed...In a mind-blowing development similar to the recent derailment of the Hogwart's Express, Gringotts Wizarding Bank was robbed this week in a chain of events that are still difficult to comprehend. On the afternoon of October 19th a Goblin making routine rounds in the private vaults found a single galleon lying on the tracks. As such messy behavior is not typical of the Goblins at Gringotts, he investigated and found four cloaked individuals leaving a string of vaults with loot in hands. A chase followed but the individuals escaped with the stolen funds and property. It is not known how they gained access to the vaults nor how they escaped. The vaults in question belonged to a block devoted mostly to staff of the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts School... This was an unusual day within the Wizarding World. Normally a paper would be in the hand of this little known boy. A new story here, a scandal there. But today was much different. Today the little boy, Peter, had fliers in his hands, yelling as he could not pass them out fast enough. And what he was yelling could be considered vital information... for both sides of the war..... Volume 1 Issue 7 …Somehow, somewhere… the Daily Prophet appeared to have ceased to exist. Without even a murmur of warning, the paper no longer delivered itself by owl every morning. No paper boy stood in the streets waving new editions at passing wizards and witches, and no one came to collect the monthly fee for its delivery. Somehow, news just seemed to… disappear all together. Like it wasn’t even happening.
But that was hardly true, was it? The world was the same as ever. Perhaps worse now that no one knew where to turn. Rumours flew without a paper to tell the right story, and everyone wondered – what in God’s name had happened to the Daily Prophet?!
One mysterious day in Diagon Alley changed all of that. A stack of the papers, still warm from the presses, appeared on a street corner as if out of thin air. Wizards gobbled them up at once, fighting one another for a chance to read it. Nearly all ignored the child-sized handprint in ink that the mysterious distributor had left on the front page of one of these very short, very curious newspapers…

Volumn 2, Issue 1 As Peter the Paperboy made his usual deliveries, the main headline on the newest edition of the Daily Prophet read...THINGS REMAIN QUIET It seems that things have remained quiet over the past several months. Is this a good thing? Or perhaps something bad to follow? Since the events that occurred at the Headmaster's funeral at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry things seemed to have settled down after a few startled possible Dark Arts events.
A week following the funeral several students and wizards were seen 'trying' to make as if the Dark Lord was out again, ranging from at Hogwarts School and around London. Many were detained by the Ministry or School administration and questioned by the Wizarding Authorities. A few were found guilty and sentenced to time in Azkaban, or suspension and expulsion in the school's cases. With the heightened security around the Wizarding World, it is no surprise that Azkaban Fortress is slowly filling up, much quicker than anticipated but to the delight of the Dementors.
Alas, dear and faithful readers, things have quieted down and it has made for a drab time at the Daily Prophet, hence the lack of any interesting news. Perhaps, after reading this, a few wayward students will act up or perhaps we will find more stories that will spice up this news report. But, till then readers, all things remain quiet on the wizarding front...... In the Wizarding Realm and also from what information can be gathered through the Muggle world, all is quiet. A little to quiet for most Prophet readers.... or is it?Officials Spotted Outside of the Ministry of Magic Will Slow Muggle Economy Effect Wizarding Jobs?
Even though the wizarding community lives in secret harmony among the Muggle cities and towns throughout the world, any change in one on a global scale drastically affects the other. Although most wizards and witches keep a low profile from the Muggles, they still keep an active interest on the business and economic front.
The Daily Prophet has prided itself in constantly reporting the global economic meltdown especially through Europe and the United States. So the question on most of our readers minds is just how much the Muggles struggling economy will effect the wizarding business district. And none could be of more concern to us all than the recent rumors surfacing from the Ministry of Magic, the core safety and security for every wizarding family.
Although these rumors have yet to be confirmed, certain recent events by Ministry employee's could lead us to believe that layoffs and job cuts are forth coming. One report, verified by many reputable eye witnesses firmly stated that known other than Julia Bridges, a very high ranking official at the MOM was spotted outside a London gentleman's soliciting. It was observed that Miss Bridges was scantily dressed, soliciting and accepting money from the night clubs patrons. For what services has yet to be unearthed. But does this stem from the latest rumors causing Miss bridges in fear of losing her job resorting for another source of income?
Another verified and confirmed report is that other Ministry employee's have been spotted frequenting and lounging about various local pubs and taverns. All this taking place during working hours none the less, times when these public officials should be in the office or out in the field protecting and keeping us all safe.
As recently as two days ago, Brian Garrett and Shelli Greene were spotted and The Three Broomsticks during business hours. Both were seen lounging casually by with what appeared to be a young Hogwarts student who was not identified. And so with all these rumors circulating and things being so quiet as of late, mixed in with the recent activities of the Ministry officials, the wizarding worlds police force, this raises another round of questions.
If there are indeed layoffs and job cuts, how will these cutbacks and reductions effect the safety and security of us, the wizarding community? These loyal reporter is not trying to put a jinx on or start unwarranted controversy. But only to remind the readers that if there is even the slightest bit of truth to this, it makes relevant that age old question.
What if.....
Return of DOA Abba Faltskog Even after his return as Interim-Headmaster at Hogwarts the mystery still surrounds Abba Faltskog, the schools highest ranking Staff. As everyone throughout the Wizarding world knows Mr. Faltskog, better known as The Director of Activities at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry vanished mysteriously early during last years school Term. It is still unknown where he had been the past year. But this reporter vows to find out.
New Years Baby Boom Expected It's common knowledge that pretty much every female (and a few males *cough*Elessar*cough*) within the school have always been after the school's most famous Casanova also known as Abba but now it seems that he has a very tough choice on his hands when it comes to who his next partner is going to be.
As everyone who hasn't spent the last goodness knows how many years living under a rock knows, Abba has always had his pick of the ladies within the school although he has tended to lean more toward the Hufflepuff and Slytherin ladies. It could be that he likes a bad girl and so likes the snakes but the badger option could show his never wavering loyalty to his old house. Either way, it seems that no one from either of the other two houses has or will be able to get a look in. Until now that is at least. At present it seems that there are four front runners for his heart with those being old flame and mother of his latest child Carma, double D KarnaRose, resident do-gooder Rowan and the fast rising Emma. Two badgers, a raven and a snake. Now that has got to be a tough choice. Still, Arri could still prove to be a dark horse in the race, as could Abba's own personal hobo Miss Kelsey Lathua.
With so many women to choose from, this reporter wouldn't be surprised if Abba decided to shock everyone and put his own spin on things by choosing Lathen or Malcolm instead but I think we all know that Abba loves his women too much to do that. No one knows when or even how he will decide but stay tuned and you're sure to find out. Until then, keep your eyes peeled folks, you never know who might be lurking around the corner. It also seemed that, when reading further into the paper, that there was quite a bit more of school news in it as well. Would this type of information cause an uproar from the parents who have children attending Hogwarts?New School Term Results in High Staff Turnover One would think that Term 13 would have been the year of "professor death" at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But it seems, dear readers, that the bad luck number at Hogwarts seems to be number 18. The school is currently in its 18th term and already has seen a high staff turnover. So large in fact that most of the Substitutes that work at the school seem to have fled the grounds!! Not enough pay perhaps is what this reporter thinks is the case. Who would want to make a mediocre salary while doing 10 classes?! I too would run for the hills if that be the case!!
None the less it is rather curious that no administrators are taking questions or commenting on the matter. One Ariyanna Faltskog, who is the Director of Curriculum (aka the one 'supposedly' in charge of all academia at Hogwarts), refused to comment for our article, merely stating, in her 'powerful, high and mighty voice', "Hogwarts will not be commenting about the internal affairs of the school. This is a private matter which will be dealt with from within."
It makes one wonder, dear and faithful readers, what is going on within the school. After all the recent events that had been occurring at Hogwarts, it makes this writer wonder. Are these administrators fit to be running this school? Wasn't the above stated Faltskog recently suffering from amnesia? Perhaps she still is. Not to mention the other Faltskog, Director of Activities Abba Faltskog, had only recently made his return known. He allowed the readers and everyone to believe that he was missing, if not presumed dead. This writer only wonders what more could be dug up about the other two administrators, recently graduated Emma Taylor and Muggle Animals Professor turned House Director Kath Blackthorn.
Will things be handled better at Hogwarts now that their secret is out? Or perhaps there is more going on. Maybe this reporter needs to do more investigating into the events that are occurring at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Read on to find out what else has been occurring on the grounds of Hogwarts......
Where oh where have the Christen-Novus triplets gone?! What do you get when you cross two recently graduated adults, a bed, and nine months of waiting? TRIPLETS! That's right, the triplets of Chase Christen and Troy Novus had arrived some time ago. The happy bundles of joy are reportedly two boys and one girl. And yet, where are they?! We have not seen them since hearing of their birth. We have a 'TomKat' (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) issue on our hands!! Perhaps, like the muggle celebrity couple their children are ALIENS!! Gasp! Say it isn't so! We already know that they are witches and wizards but an alien too!?
This reporter wonders whether or not these children are even real. Maybe Ms Christen was wearing a fake belly underneath her clothes the whole time, like it was speculated with Ms Holmes when it seemed to fake to be real (the beach ball incident). Needless to say this reporter wonders about the whereabouts of these children. Were they eaten? Perhaps by the jealous Cameron Warren who had wanted more sexytime with Mr Novus but lost out to Ms Christen when the two became engaged. But from what I have heard around even they are on the rocks (more to be said on that later in the gossip column).
Has anyone ever seen sight of these children? If you have, please report your sightings to the Daily Prophet and we will investigate these claims and make them be known!! If you have seen the mystery children and know them to be aliens, vampires, werewolves, or the like please contact us as well. The story shall be reported... no matter the cost!!!!
Possible Death Eaters Sighting at Hogwarts School There was a possible Death Eaters sighting at Hogwarts School. Reports of this incident have yet to reach the Ministry of Magic but the rumor going about is that Death Eaters had possibly attacked a student at Hogwarts. When asked by reporters about the incident, Director of Activities, Abba Faltskog, looked absolutely baffled. A rouse to let us think astray or perhaps he truly had no idea? "What the hell are you talking about?! There are no Death Eaters at my school!" After questioning, Faltskog was seen rushing back to the castle.
Do the administrators at Hogwarts truly not know what is going around in their own school? This reporter shall investigate the story further. Look for more in the next edition of the Prophet!
House Elf Population Spikes It seems, dear readers, that lately there was a rise in the population of House Elves. Truly, this is a mystery as to why such a spike in their kind has occurred. But now the kitchens of Hogwarts are filled with mother Elves carrying their little babies and other young children running around the not quite so safe place. Perhaps, this reporter things, it is time that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry consider opening and House Elf Day Care Center for all these little Elf Tots or they may face having a child endangerment lawsuit on their hands.
Deserted Hospital Halls: Lack of care or Dark Lords at work? The halls of the Hospital wing seemed to be quite deserted. Not from a lack of students, but from a lack of nurses. As of late it seems that many of the previous Nursing staff has simply disappeared. Junior Floyd, former nurse and boyfriend of Student Relations Adviser Emma Taylor, seems to have gone missing several months ago. He was last seen at the graduation ceremony of Ms Taylor before simply vanishing. Is this the works of the Dark Lord? Has Mr Floyd, former Hufflepuff student, turned to the dark side? Or perhaps he simply left his job, finding it too difficult to work in the same atmosphere as Abba Faltskog, one of his former classmates.
Not only has Mr Floyd been noted as missing but also Donna Avery, vampire and long time staff of Hogwarts. Ms Avery has not been seen in the daylight, or at night, anywhere at Hogwarts. Her home has been deserted for quite some time, making one wonder about the whereabouts of this particular vampire. In hiding, at a vampire meeting, or perhaps taking her coven to the dark side with the Dark Lord and his bevy of Death Eaters?
This reporter wonders about the safety of Hogwarts School. With all these mysteriously missing staff members, one must wonder: are these just bad coincidences, or are the administrators deliberately choosing bad staff to fill their positions? Do the admins secretly plot for the dark side, or, is this a trick being played as they are a group of their own within the war?
