"Now Veronica, I still don't think it's a good idea you attend Hogwarts this year - " Ronnie glared at her aunt with an impatient growl. "Mum! That's not fair! Of course I have to go! I want to go!" Her aunt glanced at Ronnie, her daughter Emily, and her son Christian. The tension when walking into the station was certainely unreal. "You just don't understand -" That's when her aunt definitely couldn't handle it. "Excuse me little lady? I understand a plenty. Right now things are getting a little spooky. You and I have read the headlines this summer. I'm only trying to protect you." Ronnie growled, truly believing her aunt didn't understand her. She glanced at her older cousin, Emily Cohen, whom was grazing her eyes over the newspaper and chewing an apple. "Take care of Ronnie, alright Em?" Emily glanced over lazily and nodded. "The bugger will be fine mum. Have a wonderful year, and we'll see you at Christmas." And with that, Ronnie and Emily kissed the older woman on both sides of her cheeks, as they walked to the train.
"You don't have to protect me, ya know." Ronnie answered to Emily, as the older girl shrugged. "Sure I do. I work there, for one. You're family. And a good friend of mine has disappeared. I think I have full rights to protect my ickle cousin. Now let's go." Emily said, pushing the blonde Cohen onto the train, as they handed their luggage to the conductor. Finding an empty compartment, they settled in and looked out the window. "Are you scared Em?" Ronnie asked fearfully at her older cousin. Emily looked back and raised her eyebrows, as if amused. She then tossed a muffin to her dear cousin. "Sure I am. But we're safe for now, and that's as safe as we'll ever be. Besides, before you know it you'll be settling up on the sofas of the common room and I'll be.. in the hut.. but same difference." And with that, the two family siblings smirked.
(( Yeah, so I play Emily Cohen & Veronica Cohen. I'm thinking this will be plot related to the site, if someone else joins/approves of it. If it doesn't happen to be plot related, it'll simply be a nice train ride to Hoggy-Hogwarts xD ))

Back to Hogwarts, it seemed. You could never truly get away.
With a slight pop!, Alexander Apparated right onto Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Ugh, he had always hated Apparation, but it was the quickest and most efficient way to get to where you needed to be. Straightening out his plain, dark robes, he made towards the scarlet train, dragging his single, brown suitcase behind him. He handed his ticket to the conductor, ignoring the odd look. He had to admit, it was quite weird for a grown man to be riding the train, but he didn't want to risk Apparating all the way to Hogwarts. He'd probably splinch something very important off, and that would be just too embarrassing. Plus, I mean, it's the Hogwarts Express. Who doesn't want to ride it with a bunch of kids, some of which who are half your age?
The train gave a loud wail, alerting students still on the platform to jump on or they would be left behind. Alexander hurried forward, handing his trunk to an irritated conductor, then jumped onto the train. A couple of young kids looked up at his tall form, confused on whether he was seventh year or an adult. They hurried past him without a word as the young man looked in each compartment. Most of them were full with excited, noisy students, playing games of Exploding Snap or catching up on their summers. Sighing, he was about to give up and possibly attempt to Apparate to Hogwarts where he stumbled upon a half-empty compartment.
The only other occupants were two girls, one of which was very young, the other who was possibly around his age. He forced himself to knock on the compartment door then let himself in. Smiling crookedly at the girls, he sat opposite them, in the seat nearest the window. Alex really hoped that they didn't try to speak to him; he was exhausted as hell. His mother had insisted on waking him up exceptionally early and feeding him breakfast. Pfft, yeah, she paid attention to him when his sister and Troy weren't there. He had managed to shove down a couple pieces of bacon before heading out the door, not even telling his parents goodbye.
Leaning his pale forehead against the cool glass of the window, his blue gaze looked out at the platform just as the scarlet train began to edge forward. Mothers with tears streaming down their faces were waving and blowing kisses at their kids, fathers with looks of pride on their faces, and a few younger siblings with pouting lips. Alexander sighed heavily. He felt like a kid again, only this time it was different. He was going to be teaching them, not one of them. And trust me, kiddos, teaching the lessons sounded much more fun than attending them.
[[Uhh, hope you don't mind. WE NEED TO GET THIS PLOT GOING BECAUSE IT LOOKS COOL!]]

// Ooh, a place to put long posts at! o.0 Interest'n! I'll give it a shot. //
Black ribbons fluttered mildly, upset by the light blast of air given off the train. A gloved hand reached towards her hair to stop the fabric from tickling her neck, pulling at them until what little life they'd held had vanished. Only then did the firstie look up at the train. It had begun to take its leave. Without her. Well, that wasn't good. She and leaves went together like peanut butter and dinosaurs. But she'd mostly anticipated this -- waiting for the right moment to get onto the train, so that she wouldn't have to spend any time with someone she did not want to be around.
If she were the last to board the train, she could take one look into a compartment and know exactly what she was getting into. Picking her poision, I guess you could say.
Just before the big ol' Hogwarts Express began to pick up speed, Indy rose from her bench and stepped up into one of the compartment hallways in one fluid movement. Not quite leaving the frame of the entryway, the girl wrapped her fingers gently around a bar for balance, gazing out at the platform. Eyes wandering over the pieces of shattered families -- not shattered in any visibly tragic way; only in the sense that a piece of each family was leaving on the train, while other pieces were standing on the platform. Waving. Crying. Resting her gaze on each individual witch or wizard that the train began to speed past, Indy imagined that a few of them were waving to her. Seeing her off.
She made eye contact with a crying mother to which she had no relation. They held each others gaze, and Indy lifted her hand in a sort of wave. All she really needed was for someone staying behind to acknowledge that she was gone. Anyone. Don't cry, The first year's eyes seemed to say to the elder witch. And then she was gone -- the train had passed the woman.
Putting on a look of carelessness the way one might put on an old sweater, the girl backed away from the step and rolled her small black trunk down the aisle, peering inside each window as if she were looking for someone, or something, in particular. And she was. She wanted a compartment that wasn't s'damn full looking.
Nearing the end of the aisle, a window on the right caught her eye. Its occupants seemed decent enough. Two girls, and a weary-looking, older wizard. Sliding open the door a bit, she looked in. "Would you mind if I took up a bit more of your space?" She asked a little awkwardly, looking over the three.

Post by Christina Abbot on Jun 1, 2009 0:23:23 GMT -5
My father Henry Abbot was a loyal servant of The Ministry of Magic till he died tragically from attack by a Death Eater. My mother Alisha Abbot is a cousin of Hanna Abbot a Hufflepuffs. I"m blond haired, blue eyes, and i'm 5'6. I have two cats one named roxie and one named rocko right now I keep them at home since I haven't got permission to have any pets at Hogwarts. My family lives near Godric's Hollow in a nice medium sized house. I have no siblings and was therefore doted upon and spoiled by my parents. Today is the is Setember 1st the day I start school at Hogwarts School of Magic & Wizardry Christina and her mom now stood outside Platform nine and three-quarters at Kings Cross Station in London as it was Setember 1st and it was the scheduled time to go off to school at Hogwarts.
"Mommy how do I get there , I don't see a platform 9 and three-quarters." "Just push your cart through that section of the wall there best to do it with a nice running start you will be fine and I will follow behind you."
Christina was so excited to start school at Hogwarts School Of Magic & Wizardry she had been asking her mom questions all about it the whole time on the car ride from are house near Godric's Hollow to King's Cross Station, London. Christina had wanted to use Apparation, its an Advanced spell used by fully trained witches and wizards to disappear from one place and appear almost instantly somewhere else. She had wanted to ask her mom to teach her how to Apparate, but she knew what her mom would say "Apparation is not a spell for begining students, not even your dad God bless his sole did Apparations much he always prefered to take his bike when going to London, thats quite enough you can learn about it when you go Hogwarts School of Magic & Wizardry."
As Christina started to push her cart confidently through the spot at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters she remembered the stories her dad always told her about his first time going to Hogwarts. He had told her many stories when he would put her to sleep at night before he died, one such story was how there hadn't always been a Hogwarts Express that a long time ago one just used their broomsticks that was untill the Ministry of Magic made the International Statute of Secrecy of 1692 dealing with the concerns for secrecy and Muggle relations. She missed her dad, ever since he was killed by Death Eaters it had happened when she was only 8 years old. The Ministry of Magic didn't really give much information except to say that he served the Ministry of Magic faithfully and was a loyal servant. She had often asked her mom to tell her more about what her dad had been doing but she would refuse to talk about it and would go silent whenever she brought it up except to say "God Bless his sole your father was such a great husband I wish he were still around". She wondered how her cats Roxie and Rocko would get along while she was gone and made a note to herself to ask the school admin about having pets at school. Christina confidently with her head held up high again resumed pushing her cart through the spot at Platform 9 and Three Quarters thinking to herself here goes nothing.
Christina arrived on the other side of Platform 9 and Three Quarters and turned back to look behind her at the barrier revealing instead a wrought-iron archway with the words "platform nine and three-quearters,". She saw a sign annooucing that the Hogwarts Express was soon departing at Eleven o'clock, there was a distinct smell she counldnt' quite figure out what it was but she knew she had to hurry as it was 10:45 am. Steam from the scarlet engine floods the platform as cats wind their way around the wizards' legs and owls hoot to each other as hoardes of students and parents move around hurriedly.
"Well this is it mom i'm off to school please lookout for my cats while i'm gone." "Please be safe and remember to make your father proud God Bless his soul, your father was such a great husband I wish he were still around." "I will mom but I really must be going or i will be late."
Christina got her ticket out while her mother gave her luggage to the train attentant to load and she boarded the Hogwarts Express. Christina walked down the aisle looking for a place to sit most of the compartments seemed totally full till she came to one with three girls and a older looking wizard. "May I join you all i'm running late and just got her barely on time?"
