((ONLY FOR MUGGLE MUSIC STUDENTS!! IF YOU ARE NOT THIS THEN DON'T POST OR BE READY TO LOSE HOUSE POINTS))
Julia suddenly landed lightly on her feet in an empty corridor of the infamous St. Mungos with about a dozen students landed a bit less lightly. She heard some crashes and moans and angry exclamations of pain from some of the older students. She smiled and said "Cheer up little campers, It's just a bump." She watched as the students pulled themselves up and groaned when they inspected their injuries.
No one seemed to be dead or incapacitated so she continued "Today we will be learning about Music Therapy. We are in the Unliftable Spell wing right now so most of the people here are going to remain here for some time," she said smiling brightly. "Music therapy is the use of music by a qualified specialist, or a class of young children, to reach therapeutic goals. Some goals that the muggles use this method to accomplish include motor skills, social/interpersonal development, cognitive development, self-awareness, and spiritual development. Music therapy is now a reputable muggle health service similar to physical therapy. These muggle music therapists use music to ease the changes that are non-musical in nature," she said pushin her hair out of her face.
She continued, "Music therapists can be found in nearly every area of the helping professions. Some commonly found practices include developmental work (communication, motor skills, etc.) with individuals with special needs, songwriting and listening in reminiscence/orientation work with the elderly, processing and relaxation work, and rhythmic entrainment for physical rehabilitation in stroke victims."
"The Turco-Persian psychologist and music theorist al-Farabi, known as "Alpharabius" in Europe, dealt with music therapy in his paper, Meanings of the Intellect, where he discussed the therapeutic effects of music on the soul. Robert Burton wrote in the 17th century in his classic work, The Anatomy of Melancholy, that music and dance were critical in treating mental illness," she finished. “So go find I sick person and make them happy with your music darlings!” Julia said excitedly.
((Just Roleplay out this lesson, make up a patient, do something musical, that's it. HAVE FUN AND BE CREATIVE!!!!))

Jenny was unaware that there ride was meeting an end and *bump* she hit the floor. Shocked from the unexpected impact she stumbled, but managed to maintain her footing. She groaned as she saw that somehow she had managed to get a big bruise on her knee during the process. She looked up to see that Julia had landed lightly without hurting herself. Well that was to be expected, she though, as Julia was a proffessor who had had years of experience with this sort of thing.
For the first time she inspected her surroundings, and realized that she had never been here before. She frowned, but then noticed a sign that said: St. Mungo's. No wonder Jenny had never been here before. She turned her attention back to Julia as she began to speak. Jenny had never heard of music therapy before so she quickly pulled out her notebook and pencil and began to write notes about it. She then found out that they had to find someone sick and make them happy?
Jenny looked aorund into the room next to them and found all sorts of instruments. There was pianos, violins and lots of other ones to! Jenny picked up a violin, and was glad that it was her size. She was doing her grade 7 exam so she knew that she wouldn't do to bad in helping a sick person. She rounded the corner to another room and found dozens of children. Jenny looked around and noticed a small girl looking only 7 or 8 standing off to the side.
The girl had brown hair into two plaits at the side and was standing silently and shyly. Jenny went up to her and kindly bent down looking at the sickly pale face. "Hi, I'm Jenny... What's your name?" she asked the small chiled. "I'm Hope," said the girl shyly looking up into Jenny's eyes. Jenny smiled at her, "Well Hope, would you like to hear some music?" she asked cheerfully."Oh yes!" replied the girl happily her eyes gleaming standing out from her pale face. "I love music!" she said again. Jenny's heart went out to the young child who was obviously very sick judging from the pale face.
"What type of music do you like?" Jenny asked her, taking her hand and leading her into an empty room. "I like happy songs," said the girl looking around eagerly. Jenny sat her down and then started to play one of the happiest songs she knew. The tune was so happy and frolicky that the girl started to do the best dance she could sitting down. Jenny smiled and played more enthusiastically and the sound echoed in the room.
One song after the other Jenny played and Hope enjoyed every minute of it. Finally Jenny lowered the violin, "Would you like a turn?" she asked as the child eyed the violin. "Oooh! Yes I'd love that!" Hope cried delightedly. Jenny handed her the violin and showed her how to hold it under her chin and what each string was. Hope learnt quickly and obviously had talent for violin!
Jenny noticed that throughout the whole time she'd been teaching Hope and playing for Hope, the child's face had become happier and colour had returned. The shyness and loneliness had seemed to have evaporated into nothingness. Her cheeks began to get redder and rosier causing Jenny to almost glow with happiness. By the end of their time, Hope had learnt how to play 'twinkle twinkle little star.'
"Why are you in this hospital?" Jenny finally asked Hope. "I'll show you..." Hope said sadly. She turned around for the first time and Jenny gasped. On her back was a long foxes white tail. Hope smiled, obviously she was used to being gasped at. "Can't a spell undo it???" Jenny asked frowning. "Everything has been tried..." Hope said smiling sadly. "It's like an animagus form, except I never transform fully. I'm always stuck in a stage of the transformation. Sometimes it's the head, and sometimes just a trail of fur down my arm..." she explained. Jenny smiled at her and played a few music games with her quickly.
"I have to go now..." Jenny said regretfully looking at her watch. "Ok..." Hope said sadly, but couldn't get rid of the smile from her face and Jenny knew that they would both keep memories of this time in there heart. Jenny leaned over and hugged the frail, beautiful child. Hope hugged her back warmly. When Jenny pulled away she took the violin carefully from the child's hands and smiled as she started to leave. "Bye..." said Hope softly but still smiling.
Jenny put the violin back where she had found it and then headed off towards the hall which she had come from. She hoped that she could come back again to see Hope sometime. "That was fun!" Jenny told Julia gleefully. Jenny liked this class and hoped that it would be just as fun next term as it was this term. Jenny was glad that she had made a new friend and so had Hope.

Willow landed on her feet with a jolt and a small, "Oh!" Not quite managing to keep her balance. She caught herself with an awesome move she had learned in Tae Kwon Do.
She stood up fluidly and listened to Miss Julia. Hmmm, Musical Therapy. She had heard about this before. It had worked on her brother when she played piano. But was there a piano here? She waved to Julia before setting off. She peeked around a corner, and spotted a classmate singing loudly and very off key, while the patient made a face. She chuckled and moved on.
Willow sighed and turned around the corner, and looked into an empty room. Nooo, not empty, there were some violins, a flute, and othe rassorted instruments. Including a piano. It was a large piano, but Willow could probably manage it. She tugged it out of the room, and it rolled protenstingly on its wheels. She pulled it into a patients room. It was a young woman, and there were cards and presents and other assorted items by her bed. Her name was Tina, and she had been inflicted with a spell that made her voice change. Sometimes she talked in French, the spanish, then pig latin, or very fast or slow. Poor Tina.
Willow pushed the piano into the room. "Do you like music, Tina?" Tina nodded. "Si!" She smiled at her, and Willow sat down. She mentally flipped through her repitoir, then started plaing Menuet in G. Tina clapped when she finished, and evidently said something along the lines of More, more! But it was in Japanese or something like that. She started playing Spinning song. Tina looked happy, and when Willow finished, smiled widely. "Can tu play uno more?" Tina was mixing languages now, but more English. She nodded, and played one of her favourites, Tarentella. Tinna hummed along, moving her hands in time to the music. When she finished, she spoke again. "Thank you, that was lovely." Hooray, and entire sentece in perfect English! Tina smiled happily, then yawned and popped a candy in her mouth, before handing Willow a chocolate frog. "Thank you Tina!"
Willow skipped back down the hall. "I did it Miss Julia!" She grinned happily. Maybe she would come back and play piano for Tina sometime.

[Blue = Tommy] Bracing herself for an abrupt landing, the Gryffindor shot out of the portkey, and on her... feet? That's rather unusual! Autumn was quite used to falling on her bum every time she exited a portkey. But hey, maybe her luck was getting better! Smiling proudly, the girl made her way to the front of the crowd, as so she could get a better idea of what they would be doing here. Autumn did feel a bit weird, though, because she had no idea where they were... But as a healer walked by in his uniform staring at a clipboard, the Gryffindor presumed that they were at St. Mungo's. She had only been there once, and that was for when her baby brother was born. Other than that, this place was very unfamiliar to her. As her professor began, the Gryffindor raised an eyebrow at the lesson plan. Finding a random person? What if the person was mean?!?! Either way, the girl wanted to pass this class, so she was willing to do this! Especially since the people were sick. So, not knowing what else to do, Autumn walked over to the first person she saw, which looked to be a little boy. Wearing a warm smile, the girl gave a tiny nod, then said, "Hey!" Lame way to start... "My name is Autumn. What's yours?" You can't blame her for being a bit nervous. She really didn't know this boy, and didn't know if he was in the best mood. The Gryffindor could understand if he was, though. Being in the hospital for a while could put anyone in a bad mood. The black haired boy gave a tiny cough, then looked up at the Gryffindor. "Thomas. But call me T-Tommy." Tommy coughed a little more, then looked over at the large group of students gathered around Julia. His heart-shaped face looked rather pale and tired, and the Gryffindor felt bad for him. Living in a hospital, knowing that you're in critical condition... "Oh... friends?" The boy asked, continuing to look over at the group. Autumn looked with Tommy over at the group, who were now beginning to migrate elsewhere in the room, and smiled. "Some of them, yeah. I'm here for a class. I go to Hogwarts." She said proudly, but quickly regretted saying it. "But, you know, we get a bunch of homework and stuff..." Tommy gave the Gryffindor a tiny smile. "It's okay. I'm only seven, so I may be able to go when I'm eleven. It all depends." Oh, if that didn't make the girl feel like crap. But she decided to grieve about it later, because she was here for a reason. The Gryffindor shook off the guilt and put on another smile, ready to make some music. "So yeah, like I said, I'm here with my class, and we're here to make music with inanimate objects. It's a Muggle way of helping people heal, I guess. You can join in if you want, but I'm going to start, so... here we go..." To start out, Autumn began to gently drum the white railing of Tommy's bed in a rhythmical beat. As she continued to tap the railing, the girl began to stomp her feet, adding to the beat. Tommy's face looked a bit rosier form happiness, and that encouraged the girl to continue a bit louder. Was she going to sing? Probably not. Autumn wasn't too good with writing songs, poetry, and all that jazz. The Gryffindor continued to beat and stomp, but clapped after the stomp. She looked around at her surroundings, and found a broom next to a trash can. Once the girl snagged that, she stopped beating on the railings and clicking different parts of the broom on the ground in a rhythmical fashion. So everything continued like that for a little while, and Tommy's face began to get rosier and rosier every once in a while. Although Autumn wondered how long it would last, she was happy that she could help him. As everyone began to finish up, so did she. "So, how'd you like it, Tommy?" "Cool!" The boy said, smiling happily. "I hope you can come back sometime..."Autumn smiled back at Tommy, and leaned over to give him a hug. "Me too. I'll try and come back sometime, okay?" And with that, the girl waved to her new friend, and made her way back to her professor, so the girl could back to her school.

Post by Natalie Amelia Summers on Aug 14, 2008 7:03:03 GMT -5
Everything was spinning and there were bright colors everywhere.
The room of which Natalie had come from was spinning around and around as the room dissolved. She started feeling a little nauseated and woozy. She remembered to keep her eyes shut and tried to stop breathing for a while. When it started to get a little better, Natalie started to open her eyes and she realized that the ground was becoming more visible by the millisecond. When she was barely there, she let go of the Port Key and leaped forward, wobbling a little because of the dizzying effects of traveling like that. She never really got used to traveling like that, it made her head go all fuzzy. But when everything was all cleared up, her breathing relaxed and her heartbeat returned to it's normal rate. That was good. She was beginning to be a lot more relaxed. When she didn't feel as woozy, she listened to Julia.
As it turns out, they were doing Musical Therapy that day. When Professor Julia had first mentioned it, it was the first time Natalie actually looked at where she was. St. Mungo's, she expected that much. When Professor Julia had set them off to find some sickly child to entertain with the gift of music. How awe inspiring. Natalie set off without another word to find some poor unfortunate soul to entertain. Without another word, she set off. The hospital had that medicine smell, Natalie never liked that smell but she was just going to have to live with that fact. She looked at her school mates and saw that they all had little kiddlings to help out, and Natalie didn't want to fail Muggle Music. She looked at every corner to see someone that would just strike her. After a few minutes, something did strike her. Someone. Some people. She saw two little girls from a distance.
Only that the two girls were sort of one little girl.
She saw two little girls, well two little girls' heads anyway with one body anyway. Natalie went to them looking a little hearty. They looked so adorable and yet, so sad at the same thing. How can some girls, looking so innocent, be struck to a fate like this? When Natalie beamed at them and waved at them kindly. "Hi." she said serenely. "I'm Natalie. What are your names?" she gestured them towards a small seating place and Natalie set her things down. The girls responded with enthusiasm of course and sat with her. They looked glum and moody, yet happy at the same time. "Hello. I'm Amelia and I'm Anna." said the girls with just as much kindness as her. "That's funny. My middle name is Amelia. So, what's up with you two?" Natalie asked politely.
"Well. Our mother and father were testing some new charm developing and something went horribly wrong and something exploded. We're caught in it and luckily we survived with just this to spare." said the girl named Amelia. "Our mother and father died after that and the people here are doing all they could to separate us." said Anna. "It's been three years, we're both ten." they said in unison.
Their story was heartbreaking for her but she knew where they going through. Natalie's parents and her twin sister were killed when she was only two days old. It was all rather sad. "So do you like music?" Natalie asked them politely. The two twins nodded in unison again. Their unison was cute. Natalie got her violin song sheet from her bag and started playing one of her original compositions. It had a very happy tune. It seemed to cheer up the girls quite a lot. Natalie had continued to play them songs, sing them songs, teach them her songs, and just chat for another hour at the most. Natalie had lost track of time and she actually felt happy again. Those girls raised her spirits and had taught her how happy her life seemed to be and how lucky Natalie was to be just Natalie. When she realized that it was time to go, she said a quick yet regretful goodbye. She left her song sheet with them, as Natalie knew all of her songs by heart, just a piece to remember her by.
Natalie then packed up her things and went back to the place where they were supposed to meet when they were done. She remembered that she had gotten the girls to sign their names on her notebook, and how painful it was to see them struggle to write, just for a remembrance. "Those girls were really nice. I'll come back sometime to see them again." she said to herself quietly.

Ryder looked around, he hated see kids near his own age like this and so many young kids to. It always made him sad to be in a hospital anyways since his grandfather died in one. This didn't hurt anymore than that, it stung. It felt as if someone was pulling at all stings of his heart. When he hear what he was to do, and was going to do his best to make a lot of these kids happy.
He walked over to two younger kids, way younger than any of the other kids that the students were picking. "Hello there, whats your names?, mines Ryder." He smiled at the little girl and boy. "Alexander, but most call me Alex." the little boy said, with a grin. His eys told more than anything else, he seemed to be happy that someone picked him. "What your name missy?" Ryder asked looking at the shy little girl that look no more than three years old. "Lillith, but you can call me Lily if you like." the little girl smiled at Ryder as she came towards him from behid Alex. "So, whats your guys stories?" Ryder asked, he didn't want to because his heart alreayd went out to them, even without knowing it. "Cancer.." Alex said, and Lily nodded in agreement. Ryder couldnt and he wouldnt ask what kind of cancer it was, even in the wizarding world cancer couldnt be cure yet, or then again he didnt think so.
"So what kind of music do you like?" He asked as he pulled his gutair from his pocket and resized it to the size it was to be. "Music, whats that?" The little girl Lily asked. "Music is a hamony of notes, and words, and feelings pours out of a person." He smiled. "You know those Nursey rymses your mom and dads tell you or sing to you? LIke I donno Mocking Bird." Ryder said as he picked the little girl up and sat her on his lap as he steamed the first string to Mocking bird. "Shush now little one Uncle Ryder going to buy you a mockingbird, now if that mockingbird don't sing. Uncle Ryder's going to buy you a diamond ring don't shine, Uncle Ryder's going to buy you a music box, and if that music box don't play, Uncle ryder's going to buy you a Lily." he smiled as he finished that little song. "See thats a song." He placed the gutair to his side adn smiled at the little girl.
"Now what about you little man?" He said with a grin as he stood and picked the little boy up. "What would you like to hear?" He asked. "Anything." He smiled, "Alright." Ryder added. "I hope you like country." He smiled, but he was just about four or five so he really wouldn't know what music really was until he was more so ten..if he makes it that far, which Ryder had hoped that he would. "So here it goes songs called Paint Me A Birmingham." He said before placing the boy on his lap like he had done the girl. He picked up his gutair and looked at the boy and smiled, he hoped he made this kids lovers of music at a very young age. Just to see this kids faces light up meant more to him than this lesson did, it made his day livible, and lovable. It ment more than anything in his life that he was doing good for someone. He began the song:
"He was sitting' there, his brush in hand Painting' waves as they danced, upon the sand With every stroke, he brought to life The deep blue of the ocean, against the morning' sky I asked him if he only painted ocean scenes He said for twenty dollars, I'll paint you anything
Could you Paint Me A Birmingham Make it look just the way I planned A little house on the edge of town Porch going' all the way around Put her there in the front yard swing Cotton dress make it, early spring For a while she'll be, mine again If you can Paint Me A Birmingham
He looked at me, with knowing eyes Then took a canvas from a bag there by his side Picked up a brush, and said to me Son just where in this picture would you like to be And I said if there's any way you can Could you paint me back into her arms again?
Could you Paint Me A Birmingham Make it look just the way I planned A little house on the edge of town Porch going' all the way around Put her there in the front yard swing Cotton dress make it, early spring For a while she'll be, mine again If you can Paint Me A Birmingham
Paint Me A Birmingham Make it look just the way I planned A little house on the edge of town Porch going' all the way around Put her there in the front yard swing Cotton dress make it, early spring For a while she'll be, mine again If you can Paint Me A Birmingham
Oh paint me a Birmingham."
He looked down at the little boy who had placed his head at his heart and his lungs to hear the deep breathes that he was taking in and his heart beating, it was quite fast, that didn't matter to him. These to little kids made his heart jump, and yet break at the same time. "Hey little man, so did you like it?" He asked Alex. The little boy nodded and all Ryder could do was smile.

Post by Hanna Mia Sunrose on Aug 15, 2008 10:57:31 GMT -5
Hanna landed in some corridor, hearing everyone moaning around about their landing, but for her surprise, she hadn't landed as awful as she was use to. She straightened her skirt and looked up, as the professor started talking. Mia smiled, hearing a subject what of she already knew a little.
She glowered as she heard, what they had to do. She could sing, of course, and pretty well also, but she didn't know any songs in English, that would be very happy ones and which will help someone. Fortunately just on that moment as she though it, one of the older students opened a door next to them, where were all kinds of instruments. And Hanna played piano quite well.
She stepped to that room, seeing immediately what she was looking. A synth in one corner, which had a band attached to it, so you could put it over your neck and could use both of your hands. She walked straight to it - before anyone else would take it - and lifted it up. It was quite light for a synth, but it was pretty obvious - it was still a magical instrument.
She went back to the corridor, thinking where to go next. Most of the people moved to the right side of the corridor, so she decided to go left and opened the third door that was in her way - just to use her lucky number, and maybe then people would like her music more. "Hi!" she said, entering the room. There were two little children there, with blond hair and bands in their hair. "I'm Hanna."
Both of the girls, who were sitting on a bed and playing cards, looked up and smiled. "She's Maria," said one of the girls, pointing to the other girl, that means to Maria. "And she's Kate," said Maria, pointing to Kate. "We're sisters," Kate added. "Yeah, I though that, you look quite similar. So ... do you want me to play to you?" Both girls nodded, putting down their cards.
Hanna put her hands on the synth and turned it on. She decided to play one song, that she had learned years ago, but she herself loved it very much. Although she hadn't played piano for a long time, she still could play it well. "That was beautiful," said Maria, when she finished. "Thanks, but it's nothing," Hanna said, smiling at them. Seeing their exited faces, she started playing another song, which was much more complicated and longer, but also faster and happier.
"I liked that one more," Kate said. "No, the other one was more beautiful," said her sister. "No it wasn't!" Kate started to argue, but when she got a hit with an elbow from Maria, she shut up and smiled again. "Okay, I'll go now. Thanks for listening me. Maybe I'll come again someday," Mia said, waving to the sisters and left the room. As she closed the door, she heard Kate's voice: "But the second song WAS better!" which made her only laugh.

Post by Professor Jessica Thompson on Aug 16, 2008 11:11:56 GMT -5
THUMP. Jessica landed dizzily on her feet, swaying slightly from the sudden impact. She’d never been much good with port-keys and they never seemed to fail to make her dizzy and slightly disoriented for a few minutes. Gathering her composure, she shook her head slightly, clearing all her jumbled thoughts as she joined the group around Julia. She smiled as Julia began to talk, telling them about Music Therapy.
Taking her parchment out of her bag along with her favourite quill, she jotted down several notes as Julia spoke about music therapy. You never know what exactly will be on a final; she liked to stay safe by taking lots and lots of notes. She wrote down notes about music therapists and then looked up, an interested look crossing her face. This was kind of cool; she’d never even heard of music therapy before. Hmm. She listened some more as Julia explained their assignment.
Jessica grinned at the classwork; this class was too much to be considered ‘work’. Doing so, she turned around and ran off in the other direction. Okay, so she didn’t exactly run, she just walked rather eagerly. After all, she didn’t want to run into a patient and hurt them; she was there to help them not injure them more. She walked down several hallways until hearing a weak mutter coming from one of the doors near her.
She peered inside and saw an elderly man sitting there, looking around dazed and confusedly. Her face turned sympathetic; the poor guy. It must be awful to sit around in a hospital all day with nothing to do. A nurse walked by and Jessica turned and caught his attention. “Excuse me. What’s wrong with this man?” The nurse peered into the doorway before turning to her and gravely saying, “Old Charlie? He was caught in the crossfire of the jelly-brain jinx and an incorrectly placed Permanent Sticking Charm. The two mixed together and left him practically helpless.” The nurse slipped away as Jessica looked at Charlie sadly. The would be absolutely horrible to have to endure.
After just standing there for a few minutes, she walked into the man’s room. He looked up at her, a confused look still on his face. She smiled brightly at him and he watched her, a somewhat intrigued look on his face. Taking her wand out, she pointed it at an empty basket in the room and muttered a spell, transfiguring it into a guitar. Picking it up, she sat down on one of the chairs and beamed as she began to strum it lightly, changing chords quickly and keeping up with the pace as she modified the song. She didn’t know any certain songs to play since she hadn’t brought her music so she settled for humming along with the chords she played. Charlie’s face seemed to light up with the music and he sat up a bit straighter, the confused look starting to be replaced with joy.
She smiled softly to herself as she watched this. Music therapy seemed to be good for the patients and she could hear several other forms of music coming from other various places in the wing. She grinned as she wondered what the other students were doing; some maybe singing, maybe improvising like she was. She finished the song and let the guitar down softly as he looked at him. She took out her wand and muttered the anti-spell, transfiguring the guitar back into the empty basket before waving goodbye to Charlie and leaving him with a small smile on his face. She felt good about all the happiness he’d gotten out of her song and almost felt bad at leaving him. She walked back to where Julia was and sat down, waiting to go back to the school.

Sierra fell onto her side from an unfamiliar bump that she had never experienced before. Getting up her legs wobbled a bit. Then hearing Julia’s comment about saying it was just a small bump Sierra laughed under her breath thinking that she would get used to it later. Rubbing her arm Sierra listened to her teacher tell them about how they would be helping some of the injured people with the medicine of music.
The interesting idea seemed nice in Sierra’s mind. Maybe because if she were sick she would like it if somebody came and played music for her. Looking around the small room she randomly walked towards a small girl looking at all of the other students finding their way around her. “Hello, my name is Sierra,” she said happily smiling. The small girl nodded her head and then spoke ,”My name is Casey. Why are you here. Nobody ever comes here. Well at least nobody comes to see me…” Casey said looking down with a small frown forming onto her face.
“Oh well umm…. I came to play you some music Casey!” Sierra said trying not to feel sorry for the small child. Sierra wondered why Casey’s parents hadn’t even come to see her. But still it must be horrible not to see their parents for a long time. “I like music!” she said with a small but bright smile on her face. “Before I start playing my music. Can you tell me why are you here?” A blank expression was now on Casey’s face . Shrugging she began to speak, “They said nothing is wrong with me but….I know something is! You see,” Casey said pointing to her arm , “I got a burn from a fire!”
A small frown formed on Sierra’s face. The burn from the fire on the girls arm looked fresh but it seemed like it had been their forever. “What about your parents?” Sierra asked out of curiosity. “Dead,” Casey said flatly. Dead? Her parents died? Then thinking more about the fact her parents had been dead it came to her that they must have died in the fire. “Ok well…Get ready for some awesome possum music,” Sierra said with a cooked smile.
Grabbing the nearest guitar she began to play “Saints Go Marching In”. Singing a bit of it she heard Casey start singing it with her. Looking up she saw Casey doing a small jig and caught her smiling a couple of times. “Do you want to hear it faster this time?” Sierra asked enjoying playing her music just as much as Casey was. Casey nodded her head then speaking before Sierra started playing her guitar, “This is the coolest thing that has happened to me in like forever!” Now playing her guitar faster Casey began to clap her hands to the rhythm. Once she had finished Sierra spoke again ,”You know you have a pretty good future in music!” Grinning brightly Casey spoke, “Thanks! I think I might just start playing the guitar!”
Thinking about what Casey had just said she handed over her guitar, “You can have mine! “ Sierra said happily. “Ohhh thanks!” Casey said admiring her newest gift. “Well I have to go for now. But I promise I will talk to you again one day!” Sierra said smiling. “Ok and if you can’t I will see you! And that is a promise! Bye!!!” Casey said walking over to a nurse showing her new guitar off. The nurse laughed then smiled at Sierra. Waving Sierra left to go back to her teacher.

Landing along with the rest of the class, it took Emma a moment to get her bearings. Sshe had never been to St Mungo's before but she still knew where they were even before Julia told them. She might not have been there before but that didn't mean she hadn't heard about the place. She had heard both stories and descriptions of the place but it was still a little daunting being there.
As Julia began telling them about musical therapy, all the pieces began to make sense. It wasn't something she had ever heard of before but she had never had any need to know about it before now. Taking everything out of her bag quickly, she noted down what Julia said about the topic. If she left it until later to make the notes then she would probably forget everything and that wasn't really something she wanted to have to worry about. Chances were it would come up in the finals anyway and there was no way she wanted to fail for not remembering about the topic.
With her hurried notes written down and finished, Emma shoved everything back in her bag and zipped it up. Hearing Julia tell them next that they had to go and make someone happy through music, Emma groaned quietly although it wasn't loud enough for anyone else to hear. Cheering someone up meant that they had to perform something and that wasn't something she enjoyed doing since she found it too embarrassing. Sure, she loved to sing and play the guitar but no one had actually heard her. Oh well, this would be a first for everyone then, including her.
Once Julia was finished, Emma began wandering through the hospital, not quite sure where to begin. As she passed a door into one of the many rooms along the corridor, she heard a faint coughing coming from within. Looking around to check that no one had chosen that room already, she opened the door slowly and entered the room. The sight which she was faced with wasn't exactly what she had expected, nor was it a pleasant one.
It wasn't that the two kids were disfigured, it was just that they seemed more ill than anything. "Don't worry, the twins aren't contagious. We're doing all we can to treat them and they should be able to go home by the end of the month," a nurse explained when she saw Emma looking in on them. "What's wrong with them?" she asked in a hushed voice. There was often nothing worse than hearing someone talk about you so she wanted to keep it quiet before introducing herself to the boy and girl. "They just managed to catch a bug while they were at home. It wasn't anything serious but we kept them here as a precaution," she explained, abruptly walking off before Emma could ask any more questions.
If what the nurse said was true then there shouldn't be anything to worry about and, if the kids were being let go in a couple of weeks then they couldn't be as ill as they looked. "Hi there," she said gently as she walked over to both of them. They had been sat on one bed reading before she arrived and, as much as she hated to disturb that, she didn't really want to have to face Julia's wrath and, lets face it, who would?
The girl put the book down as soon as she saw Emma and looked her up and down as she pulled up a chair and sat down beside their bed. "I'm Emma," she said, smiling at both of them. "I'm Lyra and this is my brother Will," the girl said, gesturing to the boy sat beside her. "Its nice to meet you both. How old are you two if you don't mind me asking?" she asked, looking from one to the other carefully. They were both as white as a sheet but seemed to be hiding any pain pretty well. "We're nine and a half," Will said, piping up at last. Emma hadn't been quite sure that he would actually speak throughout the meeting since he seemed to be slightly more shy than Lyra but there were two of them and one of her so that must have made him a little more confident. "How old are you?" he asked with vague interest. "I'm eighteen next month," she said, a small smile crossing her lips as she said it.
Knowing that she had to get the assignment done, Emma looked at them both again. "Do you two like music?" she asked. Their eyes seemed to light up as she said it and she could tell what their answer was going to be before they said it. "We love it," they said together, their smiles beating hers as far as happiness went. "How would you feel like a little private concert?" she asked, hoping they would like the idea. She had a few ways up her sleeve to get them involved as well. "You'd do that, for us?" Will asked, astounded. When Emma nodded, both of their smiles widened which she hadn't actually thought possible. "We'd love one. You're the first person we've had come to visit us in the five months we've been in here apart from the nurses," Lyra explained. Emma could see the sadness in her eyes as she said it and immediately felt sorry for them both. "Well, thats about to change now. I'll come back and see you before you go home. How does that sound?" she asked gently, lifting Lyra's chin gently as she said it. "That sounds great," Lyra admitted, her eyes lighting up again at that thought.
"Then I'll be back in a couple of weeks as well. What songs would you like to hear?" Emma asked, standing up and quickly summoning her guitar before looking at the twins again. "Whatever you would like to play," Will said, leaving it up to her to make the decision. Of course, he couldn't know that she was never very good at that. Oh well, she would try her best.
Figuring she might as well start off with a slow song, Emma began to play Beautiful Disaster. She wasn't sure why but it had always been one of her favourite songs, not just to listen to but to sing as well. She began singing in her soft voice, concentrating on the guitar as well. She hadn't tried both things before now and it was a little difficult but she soon got into it. As she finished the song, she looked at Lyra and Will nervously, not quite sure what their reactions were going to be. To her surprise, they both began clapping. "That was beautiful," Lyra said quietly, looking over at Emma. "Thanks but it was nothing," she said, feeling her cheeks flush red before it faded again.
"Can we hear another one?" Will asked suddenly. "Sure," Emma replied, slightly surprised at the request. "What would you like to hear?" she asked gently. "Something a little faster if you can," he said simply. Emma liked a challenge anyway and began to play another song, this time opting for Rockstar by Nickelback. This was a song both the children knew and they started singing along to it happily. A smile crossed Emma's face as she heard them and she let them do the singing for a moment before joining in again.
They managed to get through the song twice before Emma knew it was time to go. "I'm sorry but I really should get back to my class," she said gently. The twins didn't need to say anything, their expressions were enough to show her that they didn't want her to go. "Don't worry, I'll be back again before you go and we'll keep in touch," she promised, hugging them both before slowly walking out of the room. It had been more painful than she had thought possible to leave them and they had seemed so happy while they sang, it was almost like they weren't sick at all. Sighing, she made her way back to the rest of the class, knowing that she wouldn't forget that day and how attached she had become to the children.

The class started scattering around, and Evan went looking for someone she could sing to...She really didn't expect this to be her first assignment in music class, it was like having a test without studying...
She peered into a room, and saw one of her classmates was already there, playing to one of the two residents of the room... The unoccupied patient looked like he was sleeping...but she didn't feel like going looking for someone else, cause everyone was probably already taken...
She walked over to his bedside, being envious at the same time of the voice of her classmate who was singing and playing an instrument on the other side of the room.
Evan shook the person's shoulder gently "Excuse me?" ..."Excuse me" she said louder when there was no reply...she startled herself by thinking maybe hers was dead...but he was breathing..."Hello?" she shook him again, and still no reply. She didn't want to lose any points, so she decided to sing to him anyway - people in comas could hear when people talked to them, so this was just like that... She cleared her throat and sang.

"Ow" Tallah said rubbing her back while standing. Professor started explaining and all she could do was smile at the idea. After that she looked around hoping to find a patient. She found a door by the stairs and knocked and peeked inside. There she found a little boy about 6 years old who had bandages at his head laying down at his bed staring at the ceiling. "Hi There" she said walking inside smiling. The boy smiled at her weakly and sat. "Hi there miss. Are you here for the Music Therapy" he said with a hint of disappointment in his voice. "Yeah. I'm Tallah a student of Hogwarts" she said while pulling a chair next to his bed and sitting. "I'm Tommy. It must be really fun at Hogwarts my dad said it was the best" tommy said sadly. "What's wrong tommy?". "My dad promised me to send me to Hogwarts as soon as he has the money to pay the doctors to heal me." he said "What happened" Tallah said. "My Dad and I had a car crashed and I was the one who was injured badly, my legs were injured so I couldn't walk, but my dad died because of heart attack just a few months"Tallah couldn't believe this boy had been into so much pain even at such an early age she was speechless. "Do you like music?" she said. "yes very much" tommy said. "well then let's make this atmosphere a little better and I promise you that you'll be sleeping with a smile on your face" she said. She grabbed her guitar began to play soft music. She sang 3 songs and by the time the 4th had ended she saw tommy trying to keep his eyes open with now a smile on his face. She smiled "Now all better don't you think?" tommy nodded. "I'll see you later alright tommy?" Tommy frowned...She chuckled "Don't worry I'll try my best to visit you often. I'll see you soon alright?" She stood up and kissed he's forehead. She waved her hand as she walked to the door. She swear she saw a wide grin on tommy's face before she closed the door.

[red=Kimmy] Molly landed ontop of a bench that was occupied with another. "OH excuse me!" she yelp and jumped off the poor child. "Hey, owwwwieeeee, your h-h-heavy" the small girl looked up with tears in her eyes. "I am sorry, I haven't figured out how to land yet." Molly said hoping that the young girl understood. Julia was ahead of her and she listened today was about Musical Threapy. Well since she landed on the little girl Molly turned to her. "I come from Hogwarts, I'm Molly were are here for class. Do you like music?" Molly looked around the girl seemed to be waiting for a bed, there was a small bag next to her. She had a rmpled look about her and she was in need of a bath. "Yes my mam used to sing to me." "Oh, really well I shall try to help with a little bit of music." Molly gave the girl a smile, the poor thing must have just arrived. Molly looked around and since it was a very small hallway the only thing she could do was stand on a small stool. "Can you tell me your name sweetie." Molly's heart felt really terrible she hurt the poor girl. "My name is Kimmy." "Well Kimmy its nice to meet you, so here is a soft song I hope it helps." Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Somewhere over the rainbow Way up high There's a land that I heard of Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow Skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream Really do come true
Some day I'll wish upon a star And wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where troubles melt like lemondrops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow Bluebirds fly Birds fly over the rainbow Why then, oh why can't I? Some day I'll wish upon a star And wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where troubles melt like lemondrops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow Bluebirds fly If birds fly over the rainbow Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly Beyond the rainbow Why, then oh why, can't I? [/color] Molly got down off the stool, she sang the song for Kimmy, not knowing what the girls situation was she hoped that it would atleast calm the sweet girl. "That was what my mam always sang to me, thank you Molly for keeping me company." Just then a nurse came out and escorted little Kimmy out of Molly's veiw. Molly turned to rejoin the group, and a tear watered her eyes. She had to wipe then before spoke to anyone.

[blue=Angelie]
Angel stumbled as she landed. She was a little disoriented from the port key that she bumped into a small girl, causing the girl to trip since she was carrying a bag that was bigger than her. "Oh, excuse me!" she said and helped the child to stand. "Hey, pushing people isn’t a nice thing to do." The small girl looked up with tears in her eyes. "I’m sorry, I haven't figured out how to land yet." Angel said hoping that the young girl understood. “Why don’t I help you carry your bag? It’s the least I could do after causing you to trip.” Angel picked up the girl’s bag and she followed the girl to a bed near the corner of the ward. They passed by Julia and she heard that today was about Musical Therapy.
Angel sat down on the edge of the bed while the girl rummaged through her bag looking for something. "Hi, I'm Angelica but my friends call me Angel. We are here for our Muggle Music class. Do you like music?" Angel was babbling a little but she always did it when she was nervous.
"Yes, I love music.", said the girl. Angel smiled at the enthusiastic display from the girl, she must really love music. Angel then realized that she hasn’t asked the girl’s name. “Can you tell me your name?""My name is Angelie." "Well, Angelie its nice to meet you. Why don’t I sing you one of my favorite songs."
Close To You
Why do birds suddenly appear Every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be Close to you.
Why do stars fall down from the sky Every time you walk by? Just like me, they long to be Close to you.
On the day that you were born The angels got together And decided to create a dream come true So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold And starlight in your eyes of blue.
That is why all the girls in town Follow you all around. Just like me, they long to be Close to you.
On the day that you were born The angels got together And decided to create a dream come true So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold And starlight in your eyes of blue.
That is why all the girls in town Follow you all around. Just like me, they long to be Close to you. Just like me (Just like me) They long to be Close to you.
Wahhhhhhhhhhh, close to you. Wahhhhhhhhhhh, close to you. Hahhhhhhhhhhh, close to you. Lahhhhhhhhhhh, close to you.
After she sang, Angel noticed that the girl had tears in her eyes. Thinking that she did something wrong, "Did I do something wrong?", she asked Angelie.
"No, you didn't do anything wrong.", said Angelie. "I was just remembering my sister." Angelie then showed Angel the thing she was looking for in her bag. It was a heart-shaped locket and inside was picture of Angelie and her older sister.
"Where's your sister now?", asked Angel. She had a feeling that the answer wouldn't be good due to the reaction to the song she received.
"She died in an attack by death eaters.", Angelie said sadly. "She shielded me from the blast and she took the full brunt of it."
"I'm sorry to hear that.", said Angel. "Tell you what. Why don't I visit you here every so often so you don't get lonely. I may not be your sister but maybe I could be your friend."
"You really mean that?", asked Angelie. "I would love it if you did that."
"Yes, I really mean it. I'll come visit as often as I can.", said Angel. "I'd better go back to the castle now. Bye."
