Isabell blinked at the girl for a moment before remembering. It was mold destroyer. :ooo "Uhhmmm nope" she shook her head, munching on the chocolatey pretzel "I think im gonna grow my own, i've got a slice of wonderbread out on the counter" she nodded. "The only thing I have to worry about is someone eating it." hmmm.. that would be a problem. xP And she couldn't lock it up either or else the mold would take weeks to grow.. hmph.

Jay took Evan's hand but Isabell came over. His two new friends. They already knew each other. He heard their conversation and laughed a little. "I guess you know each other. If you want... I can dance with both of you. Just one at a time though." He thought he could give both of them a Yule Ball's kiss before the night's over. He figured he should do it immediately. So... he did. He leaned over to Isabell and kissed her gently on the lips. Then he leaned over to Evan and kissed her softly on the lips. "There... you both got a Yule Ball kiss from a guy." He smiled at both of them.

Isabell's cheeks flushed red from the kiss ^__^;; "Heyy!" she whined, putting her hands on her hips and wagging a finger at him "Your apposed to do that when theres mistletoe around" she tried to make a mean face but it was hard to for very long and broke it with a giggle. "You can dance with her first, I don't wanna get a cramp and drown, I just ate!" she giggled. She wasn't sure if the rule applied to dancing as well but she wasn't about to risk it!

Evan quickly withdrew when she saw what was coming "What do you think you're doing?" she stepped back away from him - "look, no offense, but I'm not about to kiss you when you're kissing someone else" she grabbed her drink and walked to the other side of the room. The nerve...

Jay smiled at Isabell. "Well there is always a mistletoe around. I think it was invisible." He looked at Evan and she was upset by it. His smile went away and had this upset look on his face. He went from happy to mad in just a couple of seconds. "Look... I was trying to be playful since you both are my friends and since you didn't have a date... I was trying to be sweet Evan." Firsties... they were always like this. He looked back at Isabell and sighed. He didn't mean to hurt anyone. He wanted to leave but he sat down at the table.

The other girl got all mad too but she was better at faking it then her. Isabell looked around to see if there was mistletoe but she didn't see any. Maybe Jay had magic eyes to spot these stuff. "Ohhh" she said when he explained. He was so lucky xP SHe looked back over at Jay who was sort of sad after the girl went and played mean. She stuffed another chocolate covered pretzel in her mouth before sitting down next to him. "It's okay, she just didn't see the mistletoe..." she giggled.

SAD.
So Nicole hadn't really known the headmaster, but she knew ABBA. Why was everyone that lead the school dying? Whoever wanted to run it would stop at nothing to get the position. It was probably an invisible death eater, but otherwise it was someone that was at their school that kiled him! It was awful. She put on a pretty dress and walked up to the rooftop lounge for the Yule Ball. It would be a sad Yule Ball.
Nicole walked into the lounge and her whole attitude changed. It looked AMAZING. It was much bigger than it used to be, and you could see the stars from the glass wall and ceiling. It was a beautiful night; The Yule Ball would be wonderful. After the ABBA memorial. Nicole saw the picture of ABBA, and a tear trickled from her eye. She walked over and wrote something on the poster. 'You were a great, fun, and loving man.' She listened to the song in the background and the tears started to flow faster. When it was done, she wiped them away and walked over to Torza. "Hey, Torza," she said, smiling halfheartedly.

Lesley Cyrus found out about the Yule Ball going on in the Rooftop Lounge. It used to be in the Party & Events Hall, but it's good that the event is held somewhere else. Lesley had many dresses but couldn't pick which one to wear. She sighed and just went along with the silkyest in her wardrobe. It may not be the silkyest but it suited the accessories she was gonna add in. ( DRESS) She made her way down the moving staircases once she finished with all the bits and bobs. She didn't know what she was going to do when she gets there. Lesley hopes that she'll find her friends, if not then just make some new friends. I mean, it ain't hard to go up to someone and tag along.. though it may be hard to tag along if the students are total dicks. When she arrived to the Rooftop Lounge, she hardly knew anybody. She took a breathe and walked in. She had no idea it was a memorial too. Bleh, no wonder it doesn't have the glits and glamour, but it was suitable for a memorial.. o.0 She walked towards a chair, she sat down.. She didn't know what else to do. She waited until to saw someone that she knew, or... something. Oh wells <__<

((Still on LoA, but I had some time online so I wanted to post before the thread got really long. Be back in a few days. )) Even from afar, one could tell that this was a very different Yule Ball from other years. There was no loud, pulsating music to shake the castle's foundations, nor any cries of joy and outrage as the school's favorite man worked the crowd. Carma lingered in the doorway of the Rooftop Lounge before she entered, taking in the difference. Sadness hung over the room like a dark cloak, though she could tell everyone was trying to enjoy themselves. Still, how happy could you be when the room was surrounded by security elves and you knew that there were others, elsewhere, just waiting for something to go wrong. How happy could you be when one of your best friends, the man you and everyone else had loved for so long, was dead and gone. How happy could you be when an entire school was mourning on the happiest night of the year. And realize that it was all because of you. Perhaps she was being too pessimistic. Of course, on the outside Carma looked wonderful and healthy. Months after childbirth, she'd dropped her baby weight and she wasn't the stick she used to be. Her hips were a little wider and she'd kept some of that weight on - converting it to muscle. Carma's arms looked visibly stronger from how weak they once were and she walked taller, keeping her spine straight and her chin up. Caring for the baby was only part of it. Carma had caused trouble, albeit with the help of some friends, and she was going to have to face the consequences for that trouble sooner or later. So she was getting ready. She also looked beautiful tonight, despite the sadness in the room. Carma bought a gown for the Yule Ball months ago, before Giselle was even born, so there was no way she had time to go buy something a little more downbeat for this occasion. She was wearing a muted pink strapless taffeta gown and glittering silver heels that matched the large diamonds which encircled her neck. (Click.) The same gems glittered at her ears and were tucked into the curls of her hair. Throwing a glance at Arri on the other side of the room, Carma noted how very different they were tonight. Like night and day. How fitting. Smiling kindly at those she came across on her journey across the room, Carma wandered over to the windows that overlooked the grounds. Once there, she planted herself with her hands folded in front of her and looked out at the Ball, waving to a few with putting a smile on her face. Carma's eyes drifted to the memorial, which she was eager to approach, but Arri was too close for now. Carma didn't want to cross paths with Arri until things had settled down. She felt guilty on many counts. First, Arri's screaming in the hospital wing when Carma was giving birth still sent chills down her spine. Second, Carma knew Arri would not be living like this - alone in her world of the past - if Abba were still alive. Scanning the Yule Ball, and the students who were beginning to smile more and have a good time, Carma wondered if they knew. She wondered if the students, or even the private elves they'd hired for the occasion, knew that it was all Carma's fault that Abba was not here today. She wondered if they knew that Kiaro would not have been able to crush Abba under that tree without her planning and knowledge. Perhaps they knew that Aaron would have never been able to set that monstrous fire without her. The inside girl. The one who had betrayed the school's secrets, and someone's life, for her own cause. Pausing in her search, Carma decided... no, they didn't know. And it almost brought a smile to her face to feel so accomplished. Months later and she hadn't been accused. But had they really accomplished what they wanted by setting that fire, killing Abba? Leaning up against the wall, Carma folded her arms over her chest and looked at Arri, the woman who was trying to smile and dance through her sadness. Yes, they had. This was the silent, protective, frightened world that she'd wanted. Somehow it wasn't as glorious as she'd expected. But maybe there was joy to be found. Ariyanna Faltskog, who had always considered Carma to be a failure of a Slytherin, was now walking around in sadness and despair because of her. Abba, who Carma was sure was going to kill her, was now dead and couldn't hurt her, or Giselle, any longer. More importantly, perhaps, Carma was the only administrator at this school left standing with her head held high. The skinny art teacher, fired no less than two times, now stood in the best position to rule this school... yes, they really had accomplished everything they wanted. Or at least Carma had. Looking at the crowd with a little more optimism now, Carma gazed at Abba's serene portrait and smiled to herself. It was a shame he had to die, Carma would truly miss him, but things were going to end up for the better now. Watching the memorial, Carma lurked in the shadows of the Ball and waited for a chance to approach it.

When Shawn woke up that morning, he had no idea that it was the day of the Yule Ball, as well as a memorial for Abba. He felt like the Headmasters memorial had been just yesterday, it's events still perfectly fresh in his mind. While wandering around the school he had heard much talk about the yule ball, realizing that it must be very soon and that was confirmed when he noticed the preparations being made. By the time he had hurried home and searched through all the clothes he owned for something appropriate to wear, it was about time to go. His attire wasn't the nicest, though it was the best he could do on such short notice.. maybe he should start paying more attention. He wore one of the few pairs of jeans he owned that weren't covered in paint or stains, and a nice shirt that he was pretty sure he wore last year.
As he was always late to these things, Shawn didn't rush too much to get there on time. Was there even a time you were supposed to be there? Usually he'd see people popping in and out all night, so he assumed a little lateness was fine. Truthfully he would have skipped the ball since he didn't have anything to wear, but as it was also Abba's memorial he felt the need to come. Though, if it turned out anything like the last memorial, he'd probably regret coming. Once again the ball wasn't in the party and events hall, but in the rooftop lounge. He followed the heard of students flocking up to the top of the school, entering the lounge after walking up way too many flights of stairs. They needed an elevator.
Upon entering the lounge, it was obvious that this ball wasn't going to be the same as all the other ones. Scanning the area, he spotted the large picture of Abba, the empty throne, and a table that didn't look like it had food on it. He made his way over there, making out the markers and things as he got closer. Looking at the board, he realized what they were all for and he smiled lightly, for it was a nice idea. He skimmed through what was already written on the board, the photo of Arri and Abba especially catching his eye. He picked up a marker and looked for a blank spot on the board, simply writing, 'I love you & miss you,' as neatly as he could because he couldn't think of what else he wanted to say. That seemed like enough anyway, and after drawing a heart below it he put the cap back on the marker and sat it on the table.
He stood and admired the portrait for a moment before turning around and wandering around, looking up at the beautiful sky through the glass. It really was a good idea to have the ball here. As he walked he looked around for someone he knew, even though he could never find anyone in the mess of people that were always there. Since the dance floor was rather empty, he was able to spot Arri dancing with Malcolm. Shawn was glad to see that she was having fun, or at least it looked like she was. He walked over to them and gave Arri a hug, also giving Malcolm one so he wouldn't feel left out before skipping off before Arri beat him down with her purse or something. He'd heard that she was kind of out of it, so you never know.
Shawn ended up at the food table, where he always seemed to end up. Assuming wrongly that the punch was okay, he grabbed a cup and poured himself some. He eyed the cookies while he sipped his drink, but decided to skip on the cookies since he'd probably just sit here and eat them all if he started eating them.

Evan stood in her corner, drinking the last of her drink and watching as more people joined the party. She was starting to get a bit bored, and uneasy cause a lot of the party-people were in mourning (She figured it out by now that this event was partially a memorial for this Abba person who died). Until she spotted a cute older guy walking in. She watched him as he wrote something on the board for Abba, and then sat down with a drink. He was definitely not a student, probably a Professor, though she couldn't remember seeing him around the castle. She walked over to the table, wanting to have a closer look at him. No way he'll go for a first year...but he's just so cute.... She bit her lip and walked up to him "Hi" she said, a bit with a squeak cause she was nervous.

Jessica walked up the stairs to the Roof Lounge with light steps and a heavy heart. She knew this coincided with Abba’s memorial and she was in a somber mood. Just when she thought she’d started to stop thinking about the funeral, this had come up. She sighed as she walked into the room solemnly, a grave look on her face. A quick glance around told her there were already several students there…and a few professors. She saw Arri and gave a sad smile in her direction. She couldn’t help but feel devastated for Arri…first going missing and now losing Abba…
She spotted Torza and Malcolm already there and waved slightly at the two of them. Then she turned and spotted something that made her suck in her breath. There, hanging on the wall, was a picture of Abba. She closed her eyes briefly as she relived watching the tree fall….and then Abba disappearing. She swallowed as she opened them again, her eyes flickering back to the portrait and reading the script underneath it. “No, we’ll never forget…” she whispered as she looked at it, her voice trailing off at the end.
She walked on over to the painting and glanced at the throne. King Abba. What a fitting title…She moved on to the table next to the throne, looking at the note on the display board. How creative..and what a good idea, she thought as she reached for a purple marker. She moved closer to the board and then lifted her hand to it, scrawling out the words:
We’ll miss you always, Abba. You were such a great man and I’ll always remember you. You did so much for this school and I’ll always look up to you for that. You never failed to make things lively and entertaining. Thanks for everything.
She took a deep breath as she set the marker down and then picked up a piece of paper on the table. Taking another pen, she thought briefly before she wrote down the following words:
Abba, you helped make this school what it is today; you were one of the biggest influences in it. I’ll always admire you for that. Thanks for making this school possible. I miss you and I wish I had gotten to know you better. - Jessica
She felt kind of silly for putting her name there but she figured it gave her some closure anyway and it wouldn’t hurt anything…a small tear had started to trickle down her cheek and she let it fall, closing her eyes and trying to refocus her thoughts. Finally she wiped it away and turned back to the rest of the crowd, a small sad smile on her face. She looked fantastic though, no matter her mood it was still the Yule Ball. She had gotten a silky metallic blue dress just for the occasion. She had never really gotten this dressed up before but had figured she could put some effort in for Abba’s memory and for her last Yule Ball…at least as a student…
She took another deep breath as she looked around and spotted the refreshment table. Figuring she could use a sip of something, she made her way on over to the table. She grabbed a glass and filled it up with punch, downing it quickly. Hmm, it tasted a bit off and she wrinkled her nose slightly. She would have figured it was spiked after that but that had always been Abba who had spiked the punch so she let that thought go. She was still thirsty though so she took another glass of it, downing it just as quickly.
Hmm…what was IN that? She kind of liked the taste now. So she took one more glass, telling herself that would be it for the night unless she got way thirsty again. She felt a bit disoriented now but it was kind of a nice feeling…she’d never really felt this way before. Spotting Carma by the door, she waved and smiled at the SRA before looking around. Hmm. Where WAS everyone? And where on earth was Emma? Shouldn't she have been here by now? Hmmph, some kind of best friend...leaving Jessica all alone like that {hehe ily emma}

Shawn hummed along with the music playing as he drank his punch, trying to ignore the fact that he was standing right next to a plate of cookies. He was thinking about finding somewhere else to stand so he wouldn't be so tempted, but then a girl popped up and greeted him. "Hellooo," he replied, giggling lightly at the fact that she had squeaked. He hoped he didn't sound mean, laughing at her like that. He couldn't really help it.

"Umm, well I'm a substitute professor, yea," Shawn said, shrugging his shoulders and wondering if he should add in the fact that he was a professor last term. That seemed irrelevant, so he decided not to. He noticed her blushed but, being the oblivious kid that he was, he assumed she was blushing because she was hot or something. Some things never changed.
