Swinging silent Lily looked up into the cold dark nightsky, it was three minutes until she'd be thirteen another year older. Her last birthday had been like the one before, and the one before that, a present from her siblings and parents but other than that a normal day. No one else had known it was her birthday last year, to be fair she hadn't had anyone to tell so why was she suddenly getting all excited about this birthday? She'd be thirteen, and the only other present she'd probably get would be pms or maybe she'd turn into the eleven year olds who act older than their age, and start liking make-up. Somehow Lily doubted this highly. She was of course only a second year and only going to be thirteen years old. The big 1-3 but really she had no one still to share it with even if that Acama guy said she could count him as a friend what did that mean exactly? She liked keeping herself to herself and didn't want to hang around with him all the time although it would have been nice to have a little party or something that involved celebrating her birthday only she'd only have the one person to invite and that was just pathetic.
Instead of having a party she'd simply swing in the playground and mess around with Coco her cat and Pug the dog. This would be the same as every birthday that had been. Only this time maybe someone would wish her a happy birthday although that seemed unlikely as no one knew it was her special day. Nobody knew but her.

Crap, why did the school grounds have to be so dark at night. It was practically pitch black and Acama could just barely make out his hand when he waved it in front of his face. Just minutes before, he was in the middle of a deep peaceful sleep when the sound of his roommates obnoxious snoring sent him traveling down the road of insomnia. He tried just about everything he could think of to get himself to fall asleep, but nothing worked. Fed up, he slipped into his old beat up sneakers and headed to the playground. He didn't usually walk the grounds at night, but it was better than sitting in bed listening to Morse snore all night. He decided on the playground because he recalled the conversation he had with a Ravenclaw girl, Lily. She mentioned that she'd often go to the playground when she couldn't sleep or something, and that it was supposed to be nice. He wasn't sure if it was just her being a typical girl thinking the night's sky was so beautiful and dazzling, or whatever other crap he'd heard people say, or if the playground really was nice.
He cursed himself for not remembering the spell to make light come out of his wand, it would have made things so much easier. When he finally reached the playground, he spotted a figure that stood just a few feet away from him, and called out, "Umm Lily, is that you?" He sure hoped it was her and not some weirdo alumni.

It was October and being England, it was already beginning to get chilly, and cuddled up in her grubby jeans and long black jumper she shuddered lightly wishing for a while she had been a normal girl and just wanted to stay in a warm bed. She could have eaten a muffin with a candle on maybe, and wished herself a silent happy birthday without anyone having to find out that she would be turning thirteen that day. Secretly she found herself wishing someone would realise although that was pretty much impossible. If no one had realised last year then why should this year be any different? And besides she wasn't going to tell a soul, not even her new friend.
Swinging lightly she sighed bored now of the playground. She did love it so much, the fact that no one else was there and she could be herself, young and carefree but after coming there every night for the past few months, she couldn't help but feel things had gotten just a little bit samey. Not that she minded too much. She hated changes but still she realised that maybe before too long she should relocate herself and make use of a different part of the school. Pulling at a strand of her hair she jumped off the swing and looked up into the sky. Even Lily, who was perhaps one of the weirdest girls in the world could not deny that it looked pretty spectacular in the night time. Hearing footsteps she felt herself grow even colder, the hairs on the back of her neck stood rigid and she could feel the sweat pouring from her forehead.
Her heart raced and she could hear the loud thumps clearly in her head. They sounded so loud she feared she would wake the whole school up. Just as she was about to make a run for it, even though she had a dog next to her he'd not protect her as he was a lazy ass, she heard a voice she recognised asking her if it was well...her. The person knew her name and that narrowed it down to her family or Acama so she smiled and turned around to face a dark figure. She couldn't make out a face only the faint outline of a figure. "Yeah its me" she said and waved her wand. Muttering Lumos a small crackling sound could be heard and the peak of her wand turned a bright white colour. "Hello" she smiled at him, "So you took my word for it? The playground is nice at night. It's always quiet!"

Malcolm walked out to the playground bored and thought it was time for a moonlight stroll. he doesnt sleep well anymore with Torza and Anne both flitting around somewhere in the world. He saw two other people in the playground a gryffindor and a ravenclaw who he recognised as Lily Stone. he walked up to them and said "Hello Lily and hello gryffindor that i dont know. what is your name?" he said and said "if the rumor that i heard are true then Happy Birthday Lily" He said as he gave her a present ((you can make up what it is)).

Acama waved the blasted wand around and shouted out a bunch of words that he thought were the spell, but for the life of him, could not remember what it was. He felt like a complete fool when he noticed the light emitting from Lily's wand. how embarrassing.. He was going to have to hit the books and start brushing up on all basic spells and incantations if he was to avoid looking like a moron in front of her, or anyone else for that matter.
“Yeah, I guess it’s pretty nice. It’s kind of creepy though because it’s so dark. I could never stay out here alone.” He felt no shame in sharing that bit of information with her. The place was downright creepy and there was no telling what kind of freaks were lurking in the shadows or behind bushes and whatnot. The girl had guts for spending all those nights in the playground by herself.
He reached down to pet what he figured must have been her dog and opened his mouth to inquire as to the type of breed it was, but was startled by a voice that came from behind them, and jumped. "What the?" He turned around, ready to conk the person over the head with whatever blunt object he could find, but realized it was a professor and heaved a sigh of relief. The feeling of relief was short lived, however, only to be replaced by utter annoyance. The guy was his former head of house and although it was only for one lesson, his muggle movies professor...and he couldn't remember Acama's name?
"Acamapichtli..." he muttered, eyeing the gift. He had no idea it was Lily's birthday, how could he if she never mentioned it? Still, he couldn't help but feel bad about not getting her anything. He would have to make it up to her in the coming weeks. "Oh, I didn't know it was your birthday. Happy Birthday!" He was sure most people would have given her a hug or something at the point, but the only person he ever cared to hug was his mother, so he patted her on the head instead..hoping it wasn't too weird.

Lily watched as he tried to make his wand light up, she felt a little bad and considered doing it for him herself but that could have made things worse. Her father was a 'mans' man who although he was weaker than his wife, did not like to be seen as not as clever so feeling guilty she didn't mutter 'Lumos' again. Besides her wand was bright enough for the both of them at least and she was herself happy that she'd remembered the spell seeing as she was pretty much a failure in anything that was spell related normally.
"Creepy?" she grinned at him and shrugged lightly, "I guess I like creepy!"smiling still she added "Besides I was scared at first of this place but I then decided that it was peaceful so I'm not scared now" she was happy that he was out with her seeing as it had finally just turned midnight and she was now officially thirteen, at least she'd not been alone for her birthday even if he'd not known it was at all. She hated it when people threw big parties for their birthdays that a) only invited friends so Lily could go or b) invited everyone so Lily could see how many people there were in the school who she didn't know. Either way she had never liked it how people made a big fuss of their birthdays and after only receiving a few grunts for a happy birthday at her first school she'd decided not to utter a single word still. Then Malcolm came along...
Hearing Acama tell Malcolm his name she smiled up and him and said "I never knew that was your name...you just told me Acama. I guess for short" she said with a nod of her head, "Acamapichtli" she said it right or at least the way he had, only because he'd only just said it and the name was fresh in her mind. It was unusual and for a brief second she felt a pang of jealously, she hated being called Lily. Lily Potter who ever that was, always stole her thunder!
"Thank you" she said remembering her manners, she realised she'd turned a bright pink as she'd not realised anyone knew it was her birthday and hadn't even told Acama, she hoped he wouldn't mind that she wasn't comfortable in sharing that with anyone and if it'd not been for Malcolm, he'd have been none the wiser. Opening the gift which was a lovely new sketchbook seeing as her last one was full she grinned happily and gave her professor a quick hug. It had always stroke her as odd how students were so easy going with professors, hugging them and even talking to them about loads of things. Lily was scared they'd eat her all up.
Looking down at her doggy Pug she smiled lightly as he lay there sleeping, at least she'd have no problems with him. Fatass would be out for the rest of the night. Hearing Acama say he didn't know it was her birthday she smiled again and shook her head "Don't worry...nobody knows...well at least I thought they didn't"

Malcolm looked at Acamapichtli and said "I remember you now. you were in my muggle movies class briefly" He said and then turned to Lily. "I knew you would like your present. It was just screaming out your name when i saw it. What other presents did you get for your birthday Lily?" Malcolm asked with kindness. Lily was a great kid and when she gets older she would also grow to be rather very pretty as well.

Lily smiled back but looked a little sad and confused. "It's only just turned midnight so I don't have any other presents but my mum, dad and sister all send me a joint one...I might get one from my real brother Jared but he doesn't know its my birthday...I was adopted you see..." she was one weird kid and didn't mind people knowing that about her. Meh her parents loved her enough to buy her, well...get her for free, that was good enough for her.
((Lame-o sorry no muse, I'm so tired))
