Damn.. this sure is embarrassing.
Remy stepped inside one of the empty rooms that the nurse had ushered him into. Once inside he started to pace back and forth in deep thought, trying to keep his mind off it. Maybe it wasn't anything odd. Maybe he just was having an off day or something. I mean it was normal right? Yeah.. It was nothing to worry about. He sat down on the chair but couldn't help himself from moving. His foot involuntarily began to tap, just waiting for the doctor to come in. It felt like forever, when really it was only a few minutes. He's probably busy.. maybe I should go.. He hoped out of the chair and started for the door before stopping himself from going any farther.
No... it took you days to finally get in here. Just get it over with. He reminded himself and stuck his hands inside his pocket to stop himself from yanking the door open and leaving. He turned away and started walking around the room again, impatiently, and started to whistle a tune under his breath. Damn doctors take forever.. he thought irritably, stepping over to the table filled with numerous items. He pulled out his hand and started playing with the odd medical instruments... anything to keep his mind off the certain situation.

Grumbling and grouching and generally being pissed at being paged early from his break, Bennett went back to one of the examining rooms reluctantly, after grabbing a fresh clipboard from the on call head nurse, and dodging the mistletoe she waved at him threateningly to move faster. He slowed down once he hit the corner however, he hated being rushed. Especially since he wa still on break technically. He was even more annoyed when he looked in, and saw what he was presumed the patient. The man looked mobile. Normal. Probably even competent in most aspects. So he didn't understand why this was such an emergency. It could have waited another fifteen minutes or so till he returned. But whatever, he was here now, he should at least begin the exam. Maybe he'd get lucky and the guy had dragon pox. He'd never seen it face to face before, his only exposure to it was what he'd seen in textbooks.
"Hello, Mr...Luh-Croy?" he stumbled over the odd name, hoping he didn't mangle it too much. Damned foreigners...they should get English sounding names...
"What brings you here today?" he asked, hoping to sound not nearly annoyed as he felt. It wouldn't do to piss someone off so close to the holidays, who knew if something like that would affect his almost nearly nonexistent bonus?

The second he heard the door open he dropped the metal instrument from his hand and made a few loud clatters. He quickly turned around as if he had been doing nothing out of the ordinary and smiled weakly at his doctor. ... maybe he didnt hear it... being kinda far and all. Sometimes things close up sounded alot louder than a far. Oh well. He took a better look at his doctor and felt a little relieved that it was a male doctor. He wasn't sure if he would have been comfortable mentioning it to a woman doctor. I mean, he was still uncomfortable just not as much? ... He felt dizzy... and confused now. "Lah-cross" he corrected the pronunciation. But then realized how that might not have been the smartest idea. Doctors didn't like being corrected. "I-I mean Luh-croy is fine" he nodded nervously.
damnit.. watch him take out my gallbladder for revenge or soemthing. He gulped. But the idea was soon tossed from his head when the doc asked what his reason was for being here. "oh.. uh. Well." he stumbled trying to find the right words. "Uhm.. I'm kind of having this.. problem" he scratched the back of his neck nervously. "I never had it before but it's like.. I dont know. I was wondering if Uh maybe i Was sick or something? Maybe that could be the reason." he gulped and stopped himself from blabbing anymore. He wasn't even sure at this point if he was making sense. Maybe the doctor would figure it out. Yeah.

He jumped slightly at the sound of the instrument crashing, and he was a little annoyed. Playing with the instruments was something a child would do. It was also risky if he was handling something sharp. He sighed and advised the man before pulling up a stool to sit on while asking questions. "Be aware if you break any of the equipment we'll be adding it to your bill", he said shortly, before flipping a page on the clipboard and taking down preliminary notes.
Shortened attention span, unable to stand still for prolonged periods of time...
"All right, Mr. LeCroix, let's move on, shall we? You were sent here because we need to determine if what you have is an illness, a spell gone wrong--or right, and to try and cure you. But first I'm going to need to ask you some questions. Fill in the answers on this sheet, an 'X' next to any and all allergies you have. And while you're doing that, can you tell me what the symptoms are? And exactly how long you've had this problem? "

... he nodded. Note to self, don't play with medical equipment.. Right. He heard the scratching of the pen on the clipboard and peeked over, wondering what the doc was writing. Damn. He hated doctors offices.. it was always so cold and awkward. He gulped and sat down, ignoring the second mispronunciation of his last name. It didnt matter at this point really and he was sure by now the guy was doing it purposely. "uhh okay" he nodded and took the clipboard with the sheet on it and started to read it, making one or two x's before handing it back to him. He wasn't really allergic to alot of things..
"... oh. well," great he wanted the symptoms. "um.. something isnt really functioning right. Like believe me, its worked before and all but its like recently its uhh not. " he looked away and quickly said "---But y'know, I think its cause i'm coming down with something. I got a uhh cough you see..." he coughed loudly "and my heads been a little feverish... so thats probably the reason for it! Thanks for the diagnosis doc, I think i'll be on my way then." he nodded assuringly and hopped off the stool. He headed for the door as if everything didnt happen. He was sick that was it, he was just being paranoid about the whole thing. The doctors visit was a waste.. maybe he wouldnt get charged if he left now.

Bennett sighed frustratedly, and flicked his wand at the door without saying a word, watching it slam in LeCroix' face. The man was an idiot. As he babbled on, a clearer picture of his 'illness' came to mind.
"Have a seat, this won't take much longer," he muttered, as he walked over to a bookshelf and pulled down a couple of reference books he thought he might need. "Have you had any dizzy spells, blackouts, periods of time where you can't remember anything happenning, even briefly? Have you eaten anything for the first time, tried a new medicine or remedy, or experienced any strange allergic reactions you might not associate with your 'illness'? Have you been under any special stress lately? Physical or social?" he continued, ready to begin taking more notes, hoping to narrow it down quickly, and find a treatment.

His hopes for escapes ended with the slam of the door. This guy really wanted to get his moneys worth. He walked back over to his seat liek a puppy with his tail between his legs and sat down. All he wanted was to get out of here quick. he was sick, that was all. "Uhmmm not that i could remember. Oh wait. Iwas dizzy a few days ago.. but that was because I was trying to chase a uhh.. doxy from my shop. Or atleast I think it was a doxy" hmm.. maybe it was a bat. But it didnt seem relevent to his ... situation. Had he eaten anything new? .. or took new medicine. "uhh no to the other things too. But Ive kinda been stressed lately from work, see I uhh kinda abandoned my bar for a few months and uh" he saw the look of pure detaste on the doctors face and quickly finished his sentence "uh yeah.. I started it up again but that I dont think is relevent either.."
"Uh.. if you dont mind me asking, how exactly is this relevent to my uhh problem?" he laughed nervously.

"Well, we need to eliminate some of the more common causes of impotence before looking into magical solutions,"he explained tiredly. He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to ward of the oncoming migraine he just knew was going to come. Bennett wasn't going to beat around the bush. He spoke clearly, using direct language, and stressing the words LaCroix had been trying to dance around.
"Exactly how long have you been having this problem? And how severe is it? Why don't you give me some more details. Have you had any other problems, other than work? At home, your family, the romance department?" he continued taking notes as he spoke, being careful not to assign a gender to the romance question. Sure times had changed in the past twenty years or so, but many wizards were still uncomfortable discussing who their partner was.

"... you're kidding right." he laughed nervously "Look im still young and everything.. I know im not as young as i used to be but uhh.. i-it's just because im sick.. " he faked a sneeze and spoke in a nasally tone. But by the look of the doctors face it looked like he really didnt care or was in the mood to tolerate BS. ".. Fine." he was here to figure out what was wrong and treat it end of story. It wasn't like doctors ran gossip columns or anything. Atleast he hoped not.
"Lets see.. like a month.. or two.. ormaybethreeorfour" he mumbled the last bit and covered it with a cough. "uhh.. well obviously the romance department there are a bit of problems.. if you know what i mean. And uh.. a couple months ago my family were having issues but.. thats past." he gulped. That couldnt be the reason could it? ... just the thought of his family impairing his uhh yknow was a little disturbing. Something he would probably need to discuss in therapy sometime in the future. But till then he was stuck pouring out his guts to a guy who looked ready to kill someone.

"Mhmm...mhmmm...you don't say..." he muttered and scribbled, not really paying too much attention, until something made him stop everything and look up. "Four months? What on earth made you wait so long?" he put down his clipboard, and gestured toward and examining table. "Hop up on that, I want to get a couple of blood samples, and test your reflexes and such, this won't take but a minute." he grabbed a couple of vials from the supply card, and a needle with a tiny tube attached. While he could have used a spell and perhaps a blade and a large bowl, sometimes muggle methods were simply more sanitary. And safer.
