The whomping willow, the most dangerous place someone could possibly want to visit. But surprise surprise Ryan was there. Ryan was always the sort of person for action, always wanted to be where interesting things happened.
It was june or july can't remeber, it was hot so he decided to go for a wonder. Out of all destinations he picked the most interesting one, one he hadnt visted yet..the whomping willow. He had heard many stories but decided to check it out for himself. Ryan walked over to it, wondering what was so great about it.
[Sorry its so rubbish, i ran out of thread muse. My muse has been on a low for a while]

Melissa couldn't believe she was back here at school. In summer. When most kids were hanging out at the beach or vacationing with families, her loser behind was back at school. Why? Simple, her stupid cat was becoming unmanageable and she needed his stupid catnip. Which unfortunately her neighborhood shop was out of, but she remembered there was some left in her dorm. So to make a long story even longer, she begged Churro's grandfather to take her to the school so she could get her cat a fix and shut up his stupid yowling for a while.
Just as she was going to dose him, the stupid furry batard disappeared, leaving a patch of shedded fur all over her summer robes. Ick. She cleaned up as best she could and tried to follow him, losing site of him near the whomping willow. She sighed and was about to give up, when she saw a boy nearby. Thinking it a bit odd as it was summer, she was nonetheless grateful and she walked over, hoping he could point her in the right direction.
"Hi? You didn't by any chance see a cat run by did you? Or maybe a small fat dog, kind of waddling? It had longish hair, and was trying to get away from me...Well, it DID get away actually... Did you see him? I can't go back home without him...My roommate keeps threatening to cook him in a rice casserole or something, so I need to keep an eye on him." She grinned a little embarassed and stuck out her hand awkwardly. "I'm Melissa, sorry to just run up on you like that."

The weather was quite warm since it was June. Since it was bright the whomping willow looked quite alive. He didnt even know why he was observing the whomping willow, maybe it was because he was bored. It was summer and Ryan had nothing better to do. Shaking his head he looked around. Not seeing one, he turned back towards the tree. What was so great about this dumb thing anyway?
As he tried to think of an answer he noticed something run past him then a couple of moment later; he was approached by a girl, an older girl who looked a bit troubled. "Hi" Ryan said looking at her curiously. "Well, i did see something run past. Wasnt sure what it was though. Went so fast it was like a blink of the eye" Ry said smiling. "I think it went that way and dont worry i'm sure you will him eventually." Ry pointed to behind the tree. "Nice to meet you Melissa and it ok" He shook her hand. "I'm Ryan."

She shook his hand glad he didn't seem to think much of her weirdness. Who loses a cat anyway? >.<
"What are you doing here during summer, Ryan?" she asked before wanting to shrivel up and die. What if he had some kind of issue? What if he was the family pariah? What if he was...an orphan? She wished she had learned to think before she spoke, it might have come in handy. Wah, he was such a cute little kid too! He was too cute to be an orphan!!! Maybe she could bring him home with her! Yes, that's it! She'd saaaave him!

"Its summeer?" He asked laughing..he knew it was summer but for some reason he had no idea what he was doing here. Well he did but didnt want to share it. "Well do you really want to know?" He asked raising his eyebrow. "I dont really have a house you see, so hogwarts is like a shelter to me. I'm adopted.." Ryan said hoping that would explain it all. Saying the word adopted could it explain it..or he could just tell her the whole thing.

Melissa's eyes got huge. Not only was her plan on taking him home to granpa and instantly gaining a baby brother shot but he probably had some kind of tragic past that she was really thoughtless in bringing up. Damn, what to do? Act all cool and nonchalant like it was all copacetic, or be concerned and interested and get him to open up? WAH! Why were all the hard decisions left to her? Where the hell was Churro when she needed him?
"Oh...ok" she nodded, and tried to look all cool and sophisticated, but since she wasn't, she probably looked like she was having a dizzy spell.

Ryan noticed her reaction. She didn’t know what to really say but neither did he. It was an emotional topic for him but he didn’t want to talk about it. “Well i don’t really mind, its not the best life but i have some shelter and i get essentials” Ry nodded. Wanting to change the topic he smiled. “So..erm what are you doing here?”
