If there was one thing Autumn hated about summer, it would have to be the heat. It was no secret to those who knew her well that she hated extreme weather. Take winter for example. It's always cold at Hogwarts during that season, let alone the usual immense amount of snow that covered the ground outside. Summer was always smoldering at the school as well, which was another thing that the girl hated. But sadly there was nothing she could do about it beside sit around and wait for either spring or fall. And let's just say that the Gryffindor wasn't always that patient.
But since the temperature was already high enough, let alone the fact that it seemed to be rising rapidly, Autumn wore a plain black top and jean shorts, wearing her usual black flip flops with them. She usually enjoyed wearing long jeans, but there was no way that was going to happen with the heat. And since the lake was nearly full, Autumn got another idea. The playground! It didn't seem like many people were going there nowadays, so the girl thought it would be a great place to hang back and relax. That was what summer was for, right? Exactly! And Autumn was going to take complete advantage of that.
As she made her way over the hill, the Gryffindor noticed the empty playground. It looked as though the place hadn't been approached in at least a month, which seemed about right, since it was around the time when the heat waves started floating around the school. She found the first swing in sight and sat down, holding on cautiously to the chains connecting it to the steel bars. It was pretty peaceful at the moment, but she wouldn't have minded some company.

The lawns were littered with students out enjoying the nice warm day, and of course Anna was one of them. She twirled around haphazardly in a little blue dress, just barely navigating her way around the other students and staff members. She found herself dancing in the direction of the playground, and since she hadn't been around there in a while she decided to continue in that direction -- slowly though, she wasn't really in any rush. It seemed the amount of people around thinned out as she got closer to the playground and farther away from the lake, where there was of course not only water but the shade of a few trees. Perhaps that would have been the better choice.. but no, she was already on her way to the playground and she would stick to it.
Upon reaching the playground, she leaned against a metal pole that was holding a slide up, and immediately regretted it. "Ow!" she squeaked, falling backwards in her haste to get away. Crinkling her nose, she rubbed her arm, which had been burned by the hot metal. That might be why there weren't all that many people around here, huh? It was a danger zone! She had half a mind to go somewhere else, but when she stood back up she saw another girl sitting in a swing and decided that they must be safe if someone else was over there. She brushed some dirt off of her dress and smoothed out the front before skipping over to the swing set, choosing a swing right next to the girl. "Hellooo!" she said happily, waving at the girl before cautiously placing her hands on the chains of the swing, which were surprisingly cool.
