Although Llyra's mother hasn't told her all that much about this whole 'witchcraft thing', she was not all that nervous. Not that Llyra did'nt know she was a witch. She knew that of course, she and her mother have spent countless nights laughing, talking about everything that happened when she was a child, her mother did not really tell Llyra what was going to happen to her. Or even more importantly, what would happen to her mother. Llyra worried a whole lot about her mother. Alone, scarred, hated. Well, maybe Llyra exaggerated a bit, but she didn't care. That was who Llyra was. Always a worrier, never for herself. Growing mentally almost as fast as she was growing tall, which was a whole lot, not that she was all that smart. No, she was growing mentally in a different perspective. So although it was her first time going to this school at fourteen years of age, she was not worried at all. Well at least that was what she kept telling herself as she strode down Platform 9 & 3/4. She might be more nervous than she lets on, but overall she was ready for this year. Ready for all life had to offer.

Sophia's eyes scanned the platform as a small sigh escaped her lips. As usual, she saw no one she knew. Either they were already on the train or she was the earliest of her group of friends. Either way, she just knew that she needed to get on the train soon, because it's departure was only a couple of minutes away. Sophia turned to face her uncle for the last time until possibly Christmas break, but more likely next summer holiday.
"I'll miss you, Roger." She smiled at him as she allowed him to embrace her. She'd been staying with her uncle for a few weeks now, but was very much ready to get on the train and head back to Hogwarts again. Her seventh year was upon her and she was very much ecstatic. Of course, this summer had been hard for her. Looking at her Uncle Roger was like looking at her father. After her father had passed away in her fifth year, spending any time with his family had been difficult.
Sophia allowed her footsteps to carry her through the barrier and onto the platform as her uncle followed her with her trolley. He was always so kind, not really making Sophie do anything she wasn't capable of. Of course, she could push her own trolley, he just wanted to do it for her. She smiled as she helped both he and the luggage boy get all of her things onto the train. When she was finished, she hugged Roger goodbye and bid him good day before turning and scanning again. She saw no one, but a girl who looked excited a lost at the same time.
Sophia walked up to Llyra, of course not knowing her name yet. "Hello, I'm Sophia Davis. Seventh Year Hufflepuff. Are you alright, you look a little lost?" Her British accent was sharp, as normal.

"Yeah fine," Llyra answered with a smile, and relieved. She wasn't lost (well all that much), but she was still kind of relieved to not be alone walking the platform. "I'm Llyra", she smiled, holding her hand out. She wasn't all really that proper, but she felt it was appropriate at this time. "Its said like 'geera'", she pointed out, just trying to make it easier. She looked down at her small bag and then at Sophia's trolley. Hopefully she wasn't as under-eqquiped as she felt. She smiled again, looking back up at Sophia. "Im a third year, but this is my first year at Hogwarts. I'm not really used to being in a big community of witches like this. The only witch I know besides me is my mother, Diana." She sighed, flickers of nervousness going through her as she wondered how her mother was doing. She quickly shook the thoughts out of her mind quickly.

Sophia smiled and nodded her head, allowing her head to reach out for Llyra's when she offered her own. Sophia shook her hand gently and pulled back when they had finished, pronouncing her name in the same sharp british accent hoping to remember it and get it right any other time she needed it.
"Well, Llyra, let me tell you. Even though you aren't coming in the way other students are, as first years, you'll get used to it quick. With your classes, you won't have time for anything other than friends. And if you never need anyone, just send an owl to me and I'll be there right away." Sophia confirmed with a smile. "You can just leave your bags with this man." She instructed as she gestured to the baggage man, helping Llyra get her bags to him.
"And follow me, let's get a seat!" Sophia smiled, leading the way onto the train.

Llyra giggled gently, as she did to everything, an annoying habit, at Sophias certainty. She warily gave her bags to the baggage man. Her mind began to work in overtime, thinking of weird things, like it always did when she started to get excited. This time she was thinking about the baggage man as she stepped up, step by step onto the train with Sophia. He couldn't have wanted that job always. Was he in potions class in hogwarts thinking "Hmmm, you know, maybe I should be a baggage man at Platforms 9 and 3/4 instead. id get 364 days off! Yeah, that sounds like the life to me." Llyra then tried to snap herself back into present day. Afterall, maybe that was what he wanted to do all of his life. She couldnt be sure it wasnt. She saw the poor baggage man outside of the window and smiled, catching his eye. She then followed Sophia into an empty compartment.

When they reached their empty compartment, Sophia took a seat near the window, across from Llyra. She gestured to the seat straight across from her for Llyra to sit in, but she could, of course, choose any seat she wanted. Sophia pulled her purse from over her shoulder and sat it next to her, pulling her wallet out and sitting it on top. She had quite a bit of muggle money in there, from her Uncle Roger, but now she also had some wizard money in there too. When the witch with the trolley came around, she'd be sure to get something.
"Do you have a favorite candy or something, Llyra? A magical drink like pumpkin juice?" Sophia's eyes looked about wonderingly before landing back on Llyra, waiting for her answer.

Llyra sat in the seat across from Sophia, and pulled out her wallet as well. She had both kinds of money, though her mother told her only to use the american money for emergencies. She smiled at Sophia, "Yes i'll have ten chocolate frogs, 3 pumpkin pastries, and a glass of pumpkin juice" she answered her grumbling stomach. ]
"Oh and a couple licorice wands," she added. "Ive never really been a fan of ice mice or bertie botts. im a huge chocolate and pumpkin fan though," she smiled, relieved she would finally be getting food.

"Ahh." Sophia smile softly at her before taking a quick glance out the window. As the train began to move, Sophia moved her glance back over to Llyra. "I like all of those, really. I don't like Ice Mice. But my favorite is definitely Pumpkin Pasties. So I'll probably buy a box of those from her, since they come in eight, and then I'll have like a few chocolate frogs, some licorice wands, and at least one bag of Bertie Botts. I'm getting pretty good at knowing which flavors to avoid." She mentioned with a small laugh.
So far, Llyra seemed like a genuinely nice and lovely girl to Sophia. Not many first years came off that way. Typically they were brats, and their mommies and daddies spoiled them to death. That was always annoying to deal with. That is, until the upperclassmen put them in their place. But, she knew that none of them would have that problem with Llyra.

"Yeah, Pumpkin pasties are my favorite too!" she smiled. "Chocolate frogs running in a close second," she laughed. "Pumpkin pasties come in eight?" she asked happily. "Maybe i'll get two boxes for the ride," she joked. Well kind of joking anyway. She nodded when Sophia talked about talked about bertie botts. "Thats my problem," she smiled knowingly. "Ill reach for a fudge and end up with a dirt. Im not exactly that observant." Well, sometimes. Other times Llyra could pick up the tiniest hints back in the city, and sometimes it was really annoying. Thankfully, and hopefully, since it was so complex and magical ehre, she wouldnt have that problem. (ooc: this is making me so hungry lol)

Sophia laughed at her joke and smiled, still looking out the window. She couldn't help but let her gaze carry out to the scenery that they passed. Through this long ride, she always enjoyed the beautiful sights of the countryside, and even the cities, that they passed through. It was mostly countryside, though. She liked to see farms and animals roaming.
"Ha, I've always had trouble keeping apple and grass straight, and that really stinks!" She admitted, her smile still wide.
"So, Llyra. Welcome to Hogwarts, first off. And secondly, if you ever need anyone to show you around, or you need help on homework, anything, I'm your girl. After six, going on seven years of Hogwarts, I've pretty much got it down pat!" She reassured her.

Llyra nodded, smiling. She followed Sophias gaze out the window, smiling, her stomach really starting to roar. The grass was so green here, while the grass in new york was- well there was barely any grass in new york except for central park. But then again, New York had a lot of things places here probably wouldnt have. Roaring subways, the hot dog guy, people rollerblading around central park at 4am in the morning. She would miss it, but she loved it here too. She could already tell. She turned her head back to Sophia when she started talking.
"Thanks. Yeah im pretty good with directions- sometimes, but homework i might have a problem with. Well who knows, it might interest me." she shrugged, fully knowing she sounded like the biggest nerd on the planet.
The snack lady finally rolled around. "I'll have five licorice wands, two- no three boxes of pumpkin pastries," she corrected, fufilling her stomachs wishes. "A glass of pumpkin juice and a glass of butterbeer, seven chocolate frogs" she smiled at the lady, who searched for Llyras food. When all of the stuff was on her lap, she grinned and looked at Sophia.
"Do you want anything?" she asked. Feeling a bit like a pig, she added, "I can share with you if you want." She pulled out 11 sickles and handed it to the lady.

Sophia's stomach had started complaining just before Llyra got to telling her that homework will either give her a problem or interest her. "Well if you find you ever need help, send an owl out to me, and I'll be there in a flash, love." She once again, reassured. Finally, her stomach's wishes were going to be fulfilled. It grumbled once more as she waited for the invitation to order her own snacks, since Llyra had taken the initiative to go first. Way to be bold!
Sophia pulled in some air before releasing what she would like. "Erm, I'll have a bag of Bertie Botts, Five Chocolate Frogs, and 2 boxes of pumpkin pasties." As the witch with the trolley asked if she wanted any sort of drink, she smiled. "I'll just have .. 2 pints of pumpkin juice." The pumpkin juice pints were so cute. They were like the tiny 'gallon jugs' that milk comes in, in which you get apple cider at a festival or something. She loved it.
When she had finished ordering and such she handed her 10 sickles with a smile. "Thank you ma'am." She sat back down. "Nah, I think I'm pretty much set! I may have to steal a licorice wand from you though." She laughed.
