It got dark really early in the winter. Noelle wasn't a hundred percent sure why, but it had to have something to do with the sun and the earth's rotation. While she wasn't a scientist, it wasn't like she was completely stupid, either. Nah, she was rather smart, if you asked her. If you didn't, well, then that's your opinion and she'd have to hurt you if you thought of her as stupid. (: The darkness wasn't horrible though. It wasn't pitch black. It was just dimming, the sun's light just starting to fade into the horizon. There was just a faint enough amount of light for someone to be able to write/read and not have to strain their eyes in the process. Someone like Noelle Prince, in particularrr. She preferred to do her homework study at night and outside. It helped her concentrate. It was also a bonus that most people were in their common rooms so they could do whatever it was that helped them study. She'd rather not know what some of those freaks did like Jaegar whatever-his-last-name-is. He was just so nasty, his antics would be better off kept a secret. Or, for her, anyway.
Noelle had made her way up the lounge, dressed in her sexy pajamas. Yup, be jealous that you don't have a pair of purple, fleece chipmunk set. Anyway. She had her wand out, pointed behind her, as two books floated in the air behind her. She could have carried them, but since someone in the OOC thread had pointed out that noone used magic, she'd figure she'd use a little. ^___^ Stepping outside, she shivered as the cold air blew into her. She shut the door and headed over to the couch in the center, setting her books on the table, and curling her feet up beneath her after she had sat down. Hmm. It wasn't tooooo cold, due to the magical shield around the school, but it was still somewhat chilly. Summoning herself a mug of hot chocolate, she took a swallow to warm her body and reached for one of her books. She was distracted by a shooting star. It shot across the sky, and she blinked before squeezing her eyes shut to make a wish. I'd mention it, but then it wouldn't come true, now, would it?
Opening her eyes, she saw the stars in the sky and smiled faintly. Mannn, she did love the stars. Astronomy was one of her favorite things, but that class had been taken out ages ago. Not that she minded, really. She would prefer to pursue that interest by herself, thank you. Noelle admired the glow of the stars, and loved to point out the constellations. Bah, she was getting too soft, wasn't she? Shaking her head, she let out a long stream of swear words in her head to regain her Slytherin-like mind. ; D Returning to her book, she pretended to study, while really just thinking of ways to destroy the Hufflepuffs.

Valley had finished with all her homework and stuff pretty early, and she'd found herself quite bored once everything was done. There was nothing to do in her dormitory, not too many people hanging out in the Ravenclaw Common Room (and most of the people who were sitting crowded around the fireplace were busy doing work, anyway... typical), and next to no one out by the lawns and lake considering how cold it had gotten. There were still a lot of places left in the castle that Valley had yet to explore, so she decided to spend some time walking around and discovering new places to go, maybe even study in at some point. She was a Ravie, after all.
The Rooftop Lounge was a room that she hadn't expected to exist. It was a very normal place, but it had a dazzling view of the castle grounds which were presently covered in snow. It was quiet and nearly empty save for one Slytherin girl who was sitting with some books and a mug of what looked to be hot chocolate.
"Mmmm," Valley hummed out loud without realizing she had. Once she'd called attention to herself, though, there wasn't much else she could do. She smiled sheepishly and shrugged her shoulders. "Sorry. Your hot chocolate smells really good. Didn't mean to bother you." She walked over to an empty couch and took a seat, tilting back her head and gazing up first at the starry night sky and then out towards the endless stretch of snow.
"Uh, if you're studying or whatever, I can leave... I don't want to be a distraction or anything. I was just checking out some places I hadn't seen yet," the young Ravenclaw explained quickly. She hadn't met any Slytherins yet, but their reputation did kind of precede them, and she was hoping she hadn't gotten on this girl's bad side. As a hard worker, Val knew what it was like to be interrupted mid-study session, and she'd probably be a little peeved herself.

Noelle had probably figured out six master plans to slowly murder each and every member of the Hufflepuff house, excluding Adelaide. Some were painful, some were not. If everything went well, they'd be gone before the end of the term. It was genius, really. She would just have to learn some extra spells to get rid of a few things that would prevent them for working. And then she'd go along and get rid of a few Ravenclaws that were bothering her friends. It was only one or two, but hey, might as well knock off anyone worth getting rid of, right?
Her thoughts were disrupted by a young girl who seemed to be enjoying her hot chocolate's aroma. Narrowing her eyes, she looked her over. She couldn't tell what house she was in, so before the girl had a chance to say anything, she asked, "You're not a Hufflepuff, right?" Noelle watched the girl, and after a few moments realized there was no way she could be. She seemed to nice, quiet and not bothersome to be one so she let her smirk fade into a faint smile. Holding out her mug of hot chocolate, she offered it to her, shrugging.
"Nah, you can stay." She said, shutting her books. "I wasn't actually studying, anyway." Noelle waved her books away, and then summoned another mug of hot chocolate for the other girl, so she wouldn't have to drink after her. She might be decent, but who knew what kind of germs she had allll up in her mouth. "I'm Noelle Prince, by the way." Adding this, she gave the girl another smile and looked back at the sky.

"Noo, I'm not," Valley replied with a blink and a blank stare, missing the look of pure hatred in the other girl's eyes. "I'm a Ravenclaw, cross my heart." She smiled warmly at the Slytherin, making a crossing motion over her chest to emphasize her point. The girl seemed to relax and said it was cool of her to stay, so Valley let herself sink into the couch, enjoying the view the glass surrounding the lounge offered.
"Oh, wow, thanks!" The Ravenclaw exclaimed as the girl gave her some hot chocolate. Okay, so maybe House reputations weren't what they were all cracked up to be. "Nice to meet you, Noelle," the young girl said sincerely. "My name's Valorie Mays. But you can call me Valley or Val if you like. I hate my name," she said with a snort, swiping her finger across the lip of the mug before taking a long sip. Yuuumm. It tasted as good as it smelled.
"Were you waiting for a Hufflepuff to come into the lounge, or something?" she asked absentmindedly, wondering why the girl had cared if she'd been in that particular House. "I was just kinda wandering around. I finished studying and work for the day."

Noelle was super happy she was a Ravenclaw, because they were the next best thing after Slytherin. "I believe you," She stated, smirking at the girl's elaborate display. Nodding to the girl's thanks, she tilted her head slightly. "Valorie?" That was such an adorable name. Shrugging, she added, "Nice to meet you, Valley." That was cool, too, though. She'd met some people named after states, and some after planets. Though, she'd never met anyone with a name from a landform.
Nearling falling over and laughter, she shook her head, viciously. "Nooo, I was not waiting for a Hufflepuff. I'm against them, actually. Worst house with the worst people. All should fall off the face of planet." She hissed, crossing her arms. Noelle paused before quickly adding, "Minus Adelaide Jakobsen. She's the only decent one. Everyone else...nope." Sighing, she let herself calm back down before nodding, again. "Yeah. Wandering around is fun."
