donna locked herself in her office as to avoid anything valentines day. she had a very good reason as to why she abousoulutely hated that day, it was the anniversary of not only her divorce from romeo moon but also the dayof her anniversy, and the day he walked out on and the children. She sat at her desk burning her wedding photos in the rubbish bin and blasting him out the family photos and family tree tapestry."ROMEO MOON, I HOPE YOU ARE BLOODY HAPPY! MAY VAMPIRES COME AND HUNT YOU DOWN!" she yelled between sobs.

Serafina stomped a little through the castle, valentines day this year was feeling considerably more depressing than it had done in recent years and she was not one for tolerating all of the other lovey dovey couples that were dotted about the place. "Bah Men!" She muttered, scowling at most people she met along the way, "Seriously who'd have them."
It was a given that if a certain someone was actually around anymore she'd have been feeling far more tolerable of the day and while she knew that he was out there somewhere safe and alive and whatnot, it was this fact also that made her feel more bitter and angry in wondering just why he wasn't there.
As she passed the hospital wing Sera's ears could not miss the sound of angry sobs interspersed with some yelling, it sounded like Donna. Could there be another soul unhappy with the valentines day feeling? Sera's heart lightened a little as she wandered to the door of her office.
Sera knocked hard so that she may be heard over the sobbing and she called, "Donna? Is that you in there?" stupid question maybe but at least she didn't ask the 'are you okay?' question that was even more stupid.

Donna was in the action of pulling out a sock monster doll that looked like her husband when she heard a voice. it was her friend serfina and she asked it it was her."Yes it's me serafina, come in before some one daft comes wishing me happy valentines day."she said as she stood up and opened the office door pratically pulling serafina in as she looked about for the insane valentines day people.

"Thanks," Serafina forced a smile as Donna opened the door and dragged her into the office. Her following comments seemed to explain the sobbing and the anger that Sera had heard from behind the door and she nodded sympathetically.
"Another not much in the 'so-called' holiday spirit then. It's nice to be in similar company." She smiled a little sadly. It really was depressing to think about it too much but perahps with someone like minded the day could become a little more cheery. "Don't worry I don't think anyone like that followed me here, they seemed to give me a wide bearth on the way here." Sera smirked slightly, "No idea why." She said airily.
"So how are you Donna, apart from wishing that this day was more than over?"

Donna answered serafina quietly"well, tired serafina very tired..."she said as she cleaned up the mess of the melted things and mr moons pictures, tucking them away quickly from serafina least she see them."How are you doing then also serafina?" she asked

Serafina nodded understandably as she took a seat on the opposite side of Donna's desk, she noticed her friend quickly hurrying to tidy away something that had littered its surface but did not pry. Sera suspected they had something to do with the tears and didn't want them to creep back unnecessarily.
"i'm sorry to hear that, but I can certainly sympathise." She said with a sigh. She may not have known quite the extent to which Donna was feeling the strain but she could certainly read the signs in her.
"Me? Oh well doing okay actually, everything considered. I've found myself quite busy this term with the teaching and being HOH, for which I'm actually very grateful." She said. Though Sera had certainly been happy in herself this term she had been immersing herself in work so as to avoid thinking too much, thinking was undeinably depressing at times and that was something she just didn't need.

Donna being a nurse and a fellow vampire noticed the strain in her fellow vampire and friends face. "serfina, it's good you are devoted to the children here and like your work, but you look as if youve been doing the very same thing ive been doing to avoid whats really been bothering the both of us...ie. men, you've with vancha being gone, me with my hatered of that lieing, coniving ,theiving, batard..of an ex husband of mine."

With a sigh Serafina visibly slumped back in her chair, she let out a small and rather sad smile that was so close to a grimace there seemed to be very little difference between the two.
"No hiding from the truth, not from you anyway." She said, shaking her head but managing a more genuine smile. Immersing herself in work was a good distraction but there was no denying that it was draining and probably very unhealthy to ignore the real things that were irking them. "Why do they seem to be such a problem?" A highly redundant question really but it had to be asked, "And more importantly what are we going to do about it?"

Donna looked up at swrafina when she asked her why were men sucha a problem."because they are men, serafina! that's why and men are allways going to a royal pain in ones donkey."she said as she slamed her fist down on her desk."I don't know what you can do about as vancha is very diffrent from the problem i have with mr moon, at least vancha still loves you..where as mr moon should be boiled in hippogriff dung."

Serafina simply had to laugh at Donna's explanation as to why men were always such a pain in the arse, it seemed simple and reasonable enough to her but unfortunately knowing the reason didn't make the fact of it any easier to deal with. In fact Donna's mentioning the fact that though in effect both their situations were the same in the deeper reality of it they were very different made Serafina feel even more depressed about the whole valentines day deal.
"Yes I know he does and I suppose I also know that if he ever does decide to come back then I'll still be here happy to have him back. But it's also this fact that makes it even worse, sometimes I actually wish he didn't still love me so that my desire to boil him in hippogryff dung, as you say, for leaving me like this would be justified." Sera sighed and slumped again. "Can I help you to boil your ex in it? It might make me feel a little better." Sera honestly had a rather sadistic sense of humour at times and the idea of what Donna was suggesting was actually very entertaining and while she didn't really want to do that to Vancha, taking out her resentment on someone else was very appealing.
