Since arriving at the school, Lily had yet to have visited the kitchen. She'd been here a fair few days now, so she figured that if ever in the seven years that she would be trapped within the enchantments surrounding and protecting the school she was going to see everything at Hogwarts, she'd better start early. And that meant now. So here she was, in the kitchens. And only because thank her lucky stars some meager little .. okay well much larger to her, Hufflepuff had walked right on by when she was trying to tickle the pear. And although they laughed at her like she was a fool, the tips of their hair started to turn from their blonde color to brown, so the unfortunate girl immediately tickled the pear properly for Lily, and she walked right in. Yes, without putting the girl's hair back to its normal state.
Lily looked left and right about the kitchen, knowing that there had to be someone around here who cooked all of the food. Where was the chef for Merlin's sake? She peered through squinty eyes around the many large counters and islands perched throughout the large sparkling clean room until she ran right into one of the man chefs that were littering the place. House elves? Really? Her eyes widened, a little pained at adjusting to such light from being so squinted a moment before. She couldn't help but let out a slight gasp as they did widen, as a house elf ran right up to her with a plate of cookies. "Ah, yes.. thank you!" She smiled at the elf, not sure what else you say to a house-elf. At least, she wasn't sure what would be acceptable around here. Her parents had always taught her that even to house elves, you use your best manners.
Well, she'd found the chefs. But she realized something as she stood among them, sampling all types of cookies from each different elf's plate. She came to the realization that she wasn't much larger than any of the elves. Her small stature was probably equal to theirs, but her height was greater, thank goodness. She was probably, at a maximum, only two feet taller than the tallest one. She frowned at the prospect as cookies melted in her mouth. "Danks fo da ooks" She attempted to say through a full mouth, laughing slightly. She made sure to cover her mouth as to not spit it anywhere.
