It was late and under the cover of darkness when Serafina flitted up the long stone staircase to the schools owlery. She'd been seething and hatching a plan for a while now, after all the effort she'd put into righting the mess that had been made of her shop, not to mention the cost of replacing all the owls for sale that had been loosed into the wild.
For a while she'd pondered 'liberating' a few of the schools owls and 'rehoming' them in the owl emporium...but had quickly reconsidered. After all it hadn't been the school that had messed with her business, just its caretaker. So Sera had started thinking of another plan. It was the petty and childish sort of revenge that she didn't think herself above and would be completely ineffective at achieveing anything most probably; but she would enjoy it nonetheless.
She entered the wide circular room, a cool summer nights breeze rippling in through the many open archways in which the owls would come and go. It was night and therefore most of the nesting spots were empty, one or two owls lingered having perhaps been used to deliver a letter earlier during the day and in need of a rest for a little longer. But that was good, Sera wasn't there for the owls, she'd already arranged the restocking with her supplier and should have a bustling shop full of the birds in no time. No this time she was there for a few of the things that the owls left behind them.
First of all she selected a couple of nests that hadn't been used in sometime and plucked them out of their alcoves, the owls around her watched curiously. She then scoured the floor, her excellent night vision being of great use at that time meaning she didn't need to light her wand to see clearly the little pearly white bones that littered the floor. She scanned a wide expanse and carefully selected several little mouse, or other such small rodent, skeletons that seemed more or less complete and could be easily pieced back together with a little charm or two and plucked them from the floor, popping them into the nests for the moment.
Almost ready to leave and begin her little assult on Kelsey's broom cupboard, she paused and looked back to the floor..would a few droppings for good measure be a good idea too?
