Allen made his way through the big doors of King's Cross Station. He was happy to be returning to Hogwarts once again. He was ready to take new classes, meet new people, and impress the professors. Over the summer, Allen vowed he would devote his time and energy to school work and staying out of trouble, rather than sneaking out to meet up with friends or staying up late partying in the common room. He lugged his enormous trunk up the stairs on that September 1st. He began to move at a faster pace. It was already 10:45 and the Hogwarts Express departed promptly at 11. He made his way to the solid barrier between platforms 9 and 10. The feeling of butterflies fluttering around in his churning stomach created a sensation of excitement. He ran towards the barrier with the plastic sign that read Platform 9 3/4 and whizzed through the wall onto the platform filled with other students and their parents. He looked back at his mother and father who had been following behind him all along and gave them a smile. He stopped in the middle of the platform and hugged his mother. She kissed him on his cheek and a tear dropped from her left eye.
"Mum, I'll be home for winter holiday, it's only a few months."
"I know, I know dear. I love you, darling. Be respectful and try to win at least one-hundred points for your house this term!"
"I will, mum."
He turned to his father who had a proud smile on his face.
"I love you, son. You take care. My best regards to all of your professors this term."
"Thanks, dad. Keep mom in line." He said with a smile.
He hugged both his parents one last time and then weaved his way through the pack of witches and wizards, owls, and cats until he reached the door of the Express. He climbed into the train and lifted his trunk up into it. He rushed to the closest empty compartment and slid his trunk onto the shelf above the window. He sat down on the comfortable, plush seat of the Express and laid his head against the window. He heard the whistle blow and opened the window to wave goodbye to his parents. They waved back and once they became tiny ants on the horizon he closed the window and waited for someone to join him in the compartment. He unzipped the side of his trunk to take out a small bag of galleons. He would need a few for when the candy cart came by. He zipped the trunk back up, sat back down on the seat, and laid his head against the cool window once more.

Mason walked down the car, still unable to find a compartment with room for him. He shuffled along until finally he found one holding a young Ravenclaw kid. Mason knocked on the door and slid it open a bit.
"Hey! Mind if I sit with you?" Mason asked politely, secretly crossing his fingers. It wasn't that he was shy, he just didn't want the awkward action of wandering up and down the train to continue, besides, this guy looked decent enough.

Allen lifted his head from the cool glass of the window and smiled at Mason. He knew him from seeing him around the school last year. He was a first year then and Mason was a second year. Everyone knows first and second years are tight so he remembered talking to Mason a few times in the library and the Great Hall.
"Oh, yeah sure!" Allen said with a smile on his face. He was hoping for some of his Ravenclaw friends, but he loved to talk and Mason was a pretty chill guy.
"How are you? How was your summer? I'm Allen by the way, in case you don't remember me. Mason, right?" He extended his hand out to the boy with a flash of his white teeth.

Mason put his trunk away a took a seat across from Allen. He noticed the coins beside him and guessed their purpose so he threw some down, too. Then he looked up and smiled.
"Yeah, I remember you. You helped me with my homework a few times, I think." Mason chuckled and extended his hand. "I didn't do anything too exciting this summer. I tried flying some more, but I'm still afraid of heights. Guess I won't be trying out for Gryffindor's Quidditch team this year. Oh well, no big deal."
Just then, the candy trolley could be heard approaching and Mason's stomach growled. In all the rush and confuse of getting to the train on time, he forgot to eat!

Allen smiled at Mason as he took out a few galleons. He knew what that meant. The boy was waiting for the candy trolley just as he was.
"Yeah I did help you out in potions last year a few times didn't I?" He smiled as he shook Mason's hand.
"Yeah, I'm not too great with heights either. I have never really had a longing to play Quidditch. I mean it's fun to watch and I like hanging out with people at the games, but that's all I really go for. Quidditch doesn't really interest me. But, I still have house pride and Ravenclaw is going to kick Gryffindor's ass this year." He chuckled.
He heard the candy trolley approaching and laughed as he heard Mason's stomach growl.
"Ya hungry?" He laughed.
"My treat." He pulled out a few galleons and bought himself and Mason a thing of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, chocolate frogs, sugar quills, licorice wands, chocolate cauldrons, pumpkin pasty, and a pack of Drooble's Best Blowing Gum.
"We'll have a real feast on this train ride." Allen laughed.
"So come on. I bought you food. Tell me more about yourself."

Ariana's heels clacked as she strutted down the hall of the Hogwarts Express. Two of her friends had ditched her to talk to some obviously unattractive boys and she was not going to watch them flirt with them. She peeked in to each compartment looking for some Slytherins or some cute boys. One compartment in particular caught her eye. Her best friend Allen Starky was in the compartment with one of the cutest Gryffindors she knew. Mason Morgan. She sighed a little bit and smiled as she opened the compartment door.
"Hey boys." She said as she wheeled her trunk into the room. It was pink. Bright pink. It looked like Barbie had vomited on it and Ke$ha had taken her bedazzler and glitter and spilled it on the trunk. Her name was engraved in gold letters on the front. She tossed her long brown hair behind her shoulder.
"Do you guys mind if I join you? Who's your friend Starks?"
She asked even though she already knew. Not many people would have suspected a girl like Ariana to have a crush on a guy like Mason Morgan. He didn't play Quidditch. He wasn't a huge talker, and he kinda came off as a bit of a dork. There was just something about that dorky Gryffindor that made her smirk. However, her smile faded when she saw all the candy that they had on the seats. Ariana was trying to not gain any weight, and pumpkin pasties were her weakness. She plopped on the cushioned seat next to Mason and opened a pumpkin pasty. She took a bite and then licked her fingers in the most attractive way she could possibly managed as she stuffed the pumpkin pasty in her mouth. She giggled as she saw the boys faces. She didn't care though. Pumpkin pasties were the bomb.

There was a knock on the door. A somewhat portly blonde teen could be seen waving on the other side. He opened the door. He was wearing some dark jeans and a Weird Sisters t-shirt. In one hand he pulled a trunk along, just your everyday old trunk. In the other was a binder.
"Hey guys!" he said excited to see at least Mason, because they have D.A.D.A. last year. He recognized the other guy, too, and remembered him being a Ravenclaw student, but couldn't put a name to the face. Then he turned to see the hot Slytherin chick stuffing her face and he chuckled a bit.
He put his trunk up but kept the binder. He plopped himself onto the chair and fished a chocolae frog box out of his pocket. He skillfully aprehended the tasty treat from the box and tossed it into his mouth. Then he took the collectable Famous Witches and Wizards card out of the box and neatly tucked it away in a slot in the binder holding many other cards.
"So guys," he started "how was your summer?"
