Starks entered the library to look for a book. It smelled of dust from the age old literature that rested on the shelves in the enormous room. The library was so expansive he wasn't sure if it were possible to not find a book he would like. He went to the nonfiction section. Who wants to read fiction when one's life is a fantasy? After all, muggles think fiction is about wizards, castles, and dragons... that is a wizard's reality. He decided to check out The Sword in the Stone. He liked to read about Merlin. He was a pretty prestigious wizard. He began to look on the shelves to see if he wanted anymore books. Deciding one was good enough for now he decided to sit down.
Starks walked to the opposite side of the library where there were tables and comfy chairs to sit in. He didn't see anyone he wanted to sit with so he took it upon himself to sit in a table in the far corner of the section, away from everyone else. Then he turned to the first page in his new, yet old, library book and began to read...

Mason noticed his buddy Starks and took it upon himself to give him some company. He recently recieved a new chess board from his mum and was itching to give it a go. Who better to practice with than a Ravenclaw right?
Mason sat down across from Allen and set up the board. "You game?" Mason asked

It is common knowledge that Ravenclaws are intelligent. Of course, they are. Starks was a straight O student. However, it was a common misconception that all Ravenclaws knew how to play wizard chess. Starks was one of those smart Ravenclaws that just could not comprehend the game. However, Starks really liked Mason. He was like one of his best friends beside Ariana. And Starks found Mason hard to say no to. He slightly turned down the corner of the page in his book and pushed it to the side. He looked up at Mason and smiled.
"You will probably kick my ass. I'm terrible at this game. I don't even know how to play." Starks said almost pathetically, it wasn't that he was embarassed he couldn't do something a Gryffindor could, he was embarassed that this was Mason. He wanted to seem like the greatest thing in the world, not invincible or indestructible, just someone Mason could consider and equal even though he was a year younger. He was just about as fit as Mason, granted Mason had slightly larger muscles, and he was just as good looking as Mason. However, he got a lot less girls (well... and guys) being a "nerdy Ravenclaw", bisexual, and kind of keeping to himself.

Mason thought for a moment. He knew there was no way he'd be able to teach him. He wouldn't know where to begin. Plus Mason was kind of a lousy teacher. Then the stupidly simple idea dawned on him. "I'll be right back." he said After a few minutes of skimming past dozens of dusty old books, Mason found what he was looking for. He plucked the book off the shelf and walked back to the table. As he sat down across from Allen he tossed the book to him. "I think that might be able to help you learn. When you're ready, we can practice together." Mason said smiling he laughed and turned his wand betwen his fingers. Reclining in the seat a litte, Mason kicked up his feet onto the table and began playing with his wand, twirling it, and tracing the air, writing with it and the sort. He levitated the book and said "Well go on! Get to it, Starks!" beaming at Allen, ready to play. "I'll do some homework or something while you read. Mason had no intention of doing homework, he figured he'd practice spells or something instead. Essays=bad cool tricks w/ his wand=good
