Wentworth had finished breakfast and was ready for a day of adventure and discovery. He proceeded from floor to floor trying to find out for himself what mysteries were to be found in the ancient castle.
At this moment he found himself nearly alone in the early morning on the Fourth Floor Corridor, where with painstaking detail he has been inspecting the art, decorations, furniture, and architecture. He was currently examining a particularly well crafted column with delicate features and ornate details that gave the appearance of lace-like translucence carved out of entirely rigid white marble. He wondered if this was many of the reconstructed portions of the castle, or if perhaps this could be part of the original structure, created by the founders.

Lila was wandering around again. It seemed like she had been doing it a lot lately, leaving her homework to the very last minute and then panicking when she realized she had just a day left to work on her extensively long Potions report. It had happened several times, but, for some reason, Lila couldn’t stop from breaking free from the confinement of the common room. She was growing bored with the surrounding and the sound of her girls her age and older giggling over the next boy who’d walk into the room. It was torture to epic proportion. Lost in her thoughts as she allowed her feet to choose her path, Lila didn’t even realize she had finally reached the fourth floor corridor and before she knew it she almost found herself walking into a wall. “Dang it, who put it there?” She cursed loudly, not noticing a boy younger than her was just a few steps away.

Wentworth heard Lila coming but her abrupt comment was unexpected and as a result he was taken off guard. He turned to see what was the matter with the girl, who was obviously flustered and had her mind elsewhere. "Well, judging by the general age and wear on the masonry I'd say it was probably one of the founders. Are you okay? I mean you didn't hurt yourself or the like?" He realized that he let his statements go on without an introduction to the girl and quickly resolved to amend his comments, "I'm afraid we haven't met. I'm Wentworth...Fitzwilliam Wentworth, and you are?"

Great. She had to deal with a smart-ass. Groaning, Lila turned her attention towards the boy much younger than she was but before she could say anything more he went on to introduce himself to her. “It was a rhetorical question,” She stated monotonously, glaring at Fitzwilliam. Exactly what kind of name was that? Maybe his parents or at least his mother was too much of a Jane Austen fanatic. Feeling obligated to answer the question, Lila had no choice but to begrudgingly say her name aloud, “Lila Sinclair,”

Wentworth felt that his attempt at wit and humor was not well received and decided to be much more subdued as to not offend. "Hello Lila. I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend," he said with a great deal of sincerity. "I just happen to be an architecture fanatic, and have found myself quite alone this morning."

Why do people do that? Lila was annoyed. Fitzwilliam’s attempt to apologize sounded more like a mock to her. I didn’t mean to offend, yeah right. She fought with her own consciousness. “Sure you didn’t,” She spat. Whatever foul mood Lila was in, even though the boy was not the initial cause he was definitely going to be at the receiving end. “Architecture fanatic?” Lila retorted. “I’ve heard that before,” She added unimpressed before asking. “So, I suppose you’ve found all the hidden passage then?” It was never easy to get Lila to be impressed with anything.
((Kind of hard to miss when I just finished watching Pride & Prejudice the week before))

There seemed to be no way to escape the conversation's decline, but Wentworth was determined at least to not offend more than he already did, though he wasn't quite sure how he'd offended Lila. He started off with the most sober expression of sincerity as if he were a little hurt at the concept of being doubted, "Yes, really a student of architecture really; and no, I'm afraid I haven't actually seen any secret passages first hand." His mind whirled at the thought of secret shortcuts and hidden rooms. "Though I've thought about trying to find some..." It was in mid sentence that the concept came to Wentworth that Lila could have been having a bad day before they'd even met. "...Look Lila. You seem like a very charming girl who might be having a less than agreeable day. Is there something I could do to make up for my obvious lack of conversational tact?"

All Lila heard was bla bla bla. She was not interested in anyone’s aspiration. But, for some odd reason, people kept telling her theirs even when she made it abundantly clear that she didn’t care either by expressing it verbally or physically. Still, her eyes gleam when she heard that Fitzwilliam hadn’t even come close to finding even one hidden passage. Armature, she spat. A smirk formed on her lips, oh great, another one of those ‘lets get along dweeb’. “Nope,” Lila answered without a second thought. “I don’t think there’s a rule saying all conversation must be tactful,” She added with another obvious smirk.

The neurolinguistic evidence exuding from Lila was palpable. She clearly didn't agree with Wentworth and moreover, she seemed to derive some sort of pleasure from their disagreement. "Then on that account we are destined to disagree. It's too bad that I've delayed you with my less than interesting conversation. I hope you have a pleasant morning Lila." Wentworth gave a curt and shallow bow, then turned on one heel and started to walk away.

Rosie rushed through in her little white nurses uniform "Mr. Wentworth it's time for your vaccination" she grinned sweetly and pulled out a needle. Quick as a bunny in love she clamped her hand on his arm and then stuck him with the needle and hit the plunger, pulling the needle out she wiped the little wound and added a glittery band-aid "There you are all set" she patted him and handed over a fresh baked cookie and a lollypop. "See you later" she called as she rushed off to find her next victim.

Wentworth was speachless. Good thing he wasn't too affraid of needles. "Thank you, but a vaccine against what?..." It was at that time that he started to get a little whoosy. He just continued to make his way dow the hall, staggering his way as he went.

“Awww... Did I hurt you feelings?” Lila called sarcastically. Her eyes narrowed as if mocking and daring Fitzwilliam to challenge her. Well, not that he would, if she was right, he was as boring as a doorknob and would not move unless someone else moved him. Too bad, if he could stop being civil all the time, he might have had a future. It took maybe seconds, but soon enough some pathetic excuse of an adult waltz in with a... Vaccine? Whatever it was, Lila wasn’t listening, she was already too bored listening to all the yammering.

Wentworth's patience was wearing thin and he could contain his comment's behind the guise of properness no longer. Here he was condescending to speak to this witch of no particular popularity or rank, and being the brunt on her insolent and impertinences. He turned quickly. His right hand itched to reach for his wand, but instead decided to fight words with words. His voice was a passionate tone, which increase into a voice just short of yelling, "Enough! I pity you Lila. Your abysmal attitude is clear evidence of your lack of tact, upbringing, and sociability. No, Miss you did not 'hurt my feelings'. In fact, I seriously doubt your ability to truly hurt anyone's feelings." He waited for her retort.

“Such big words,” Lila said in a mocking tone. A smirk spread across her face as she turned to face Fitzwilliam. “Too good to use the common words like the rest of us, eh?” She asked briskly. Ohhh!!! Lila’s could feel her legs shivering – not >.<. “How old are you anyway?” Lila asked with narrowing eyes, studying Fitzwilliam from head to toe. Can’t be more than nine, she scrunched her nose as if she had just smelled something awful. “Ten going on a hundred?” She added smugly.

What exactly does age have to do with the topic, was what Wentworth thought first, and then he realized her circular comment of how he must be very young, but it was her that was acting like a child. She must be insecure about herself, was his second thought. Regardless he edged closer and said, "What, pray tell, makes you the authority on age and how it defines a person? True, I find that the simpleness of the traditionally muggle-like word choices that abound at this institution to be less than descriptive in my opinion, but your days as an obviously failed carny do you no justice as a diviner of age. Otherwise, I'd not be old enough to enter the grounds, but I digress. What is it exactly that brings about your incipient mood and venomous personality?"
