He was looking for something to do. It was the weekend and idol hands are...well the're bad, so Jacob made up his mind to find someone to hangout with. He got into his kakhi cargo pants, a subdued brown tee-shirt and his hiking boots (just incase), before putting on his brown leather aviator jacket to fend off the cold of the fall breeze. He checked his hair just to make sure it wasn't looking too orderly or slept in, because either extreme was just annoying.
There had to be adventures to be had, people to annoy, girls to flirt with...He'd resolved to start the search from the top of the castle.
The sixth floor corridor looked pretty empty, but as he looked out a window he noticed that there was not a soul in sight. Maybe it was a Hogsmead weekend and he just didn't hear about it.

Melissa laid on the very dirty floor, under a sheet of made of several copies of the Informer scattered over her body and groaned. She wasn't entirely sure what day it was, or even if it was day. The last thing she remembered was watching a horror movie in her apartment then running out, not wanting to go back and face the dark alone. So here she was, in her semi-hobo glory, buried under garbage. She hadn't been to class in months, hadn't seen her amigos in...how long? When was the last time she'd seen ANYONE? Who knew? Stuck under her gross, stinky, untended hair was her only picture of Mori-sempai that she managed to snatch before running to the refuge of the school. She had to sleep with it under her pillow you see, or the love charm wouldn't work! She didn't know any spells for it, and didn't have any love potions, so muggle folklore/wiccan homegrown charms were her last refuge. She had pined for her precious for so many years, this was going to be the make it or break it term! Either she made him hers, or she'd break her own heart and give up She heard someone walking around, and lifted one sheet up a sliver, enough to see just a slit of a leg through it. She croaked weakly from lack of foods or liquids... "You're messing up my feng-shui"

Even misguided homeless girls, or at least the vision of homelessness, needed love. "I don't mean to intrude on your serenity, but are you okay? I mean, do you need a hand, or a shoulder," he was thinking of how she'd gotten there, and in such a state. "Did something happen?"

He sure didn't MEAN to intrude on her serenity, but--wait...she wasn't serene at all. She was morose and waif-like and terrified. She peeked out higher and saw his hands were empty. A good sign. He didn't APPEAR to be carrying any weapons- but that's how they got you. Her head fell back again, an entire fraction of an inch, until she was resting it on her pillow of ragged old papers. A pathetic whimper escaped her. "Food...do you have foooooood?" Cause otherwise...he was just useless.

He remembered a bag of granola bars and chocolate chip biscuits (read cookies) that he had in his cargo pocket. "Yes acutally, I've got some biscuits and granola bars. Are you interested? Here let me help you up. That can't be comfortable on the floor like that." he walked closer and offered a hand to help her up.

She sniffed and looked at it longingly. She really wanted meat, or soup, some kind of REAL food, but this would do for now. She took the bag and stuffed a handful of cookies in her mouth (no snarky comments about that, they were SMALL cookies) and gave up trying to look dainty. After all, she had a bubble gum wrapper in her hair, and strange footprints on the back of her sweater. She took the hand he held out, not bothering to even wipe her own on her skirt first, after all her skirt was just as dingy as the rest of her.
She took her hand out of the bag, realizing she was a hog and not really caring, but held it out to share with him. "Ou wanf thome?" she managed to get out around a mouthful of cookie.

He could see her raw beauty hidden behind the grime. Like as if she were hiding it from him behind a improvised facade. "No thank's I've had loads." He got his wand out, "would you mind if I," he pointed his wand at her dirt laddenness.

Suddenly he seemed to be her savior. He was sent as compensation for the neglect she had been suffering by the LAPD. She knew it. A single tear streaked down her cheek, leaving a clean path through the dust. She grabbed his wand hand and looked up at him, her eyes shining with hope.
"Fix me?!?!?" she coughed out, as her mouth was really dry after the cookies.

"With pleasure and with all my heart." He made the wand motion, "Tergeo Maxima," the jet of air removed the grime he started at her feet and worked his way up. He made a spinning motion with his other hand, "If you wouldn't mind beautiful, could you spin a little?"

Her heart skipped a beat when he called her beautiful. Almost nobody ever said that to her, except her grandfather. With a little thrill despite her despair over her lost sempai, and she waited for the slight puff of air to swoosh over her as she turned slowly. Sure he was probably taking pity on her, but she'd take whatever sympathy she could get at this point, she was dirty, thirsty and desparate .

He was right. She was hiding behind the facade of hobo-likeness. As he put away his wand he said, "Just as I thought. You truely are a stunningly beautiful girl. But you look like you could deal with some breakfast." He gently grabbed her free hand and guided her down the hall in the direction of the stairs. "I'm Jacob by the way."

Her smile stretched her face painfully, but she didn't notice. He seemed nice. He made her feel pretty, even if she felt like a fat unsightly wench a lot of the time. Whoever his girlfriend was, she was so lucky. Unless this was just an act to get in her pants...Churro always was yelling about how guys only wanted one thing, and to stay away from everyone but him and Morse cause they were the best judges of boys and to ''consult'' them first. Which amounted to them glowering at everyone who even nodded at her in class. And leading to her having no social life whatsoever, which she hadn't really noticed until now, now that they were nowhere to be found.
"Melissa... nice to meet you, Jacob"

"It's good that I saw you when I did, because I'm on my way to adventure, and I'd love some company." He was desperate for some company, but he wouldn't want to seem it. "What are you doing after breakfast?"

Adventure? Melissa had her fill of adventure...getting locked in the Shrieking Shack, a body switch, summer of zombie like flu that nearly finished her, the never ending chases that seemed to always end with her being thrown over someone's shoulders like a gym bag and carried off. What could top that? "I have no plans, I was just going to wallow in the filth and despair of my life and wait for a slow and painful death, what did you have in mind?" she smiled cheerfully and tucked her hand neatly into the crook of his elbow.

He could see that even though her appearance was on the up and up, her spirits were lagging somewhere behind. He had to find a way to get her all charged up, or this little outing would end at the great hall.
He continued to hold her hand as he looked her over, "Well right now the adventure is looking very promising, but I've got an idea hatching that will curl you adorable little socks...wait for it...wake boarding on the lake using my sick broom and one of the shields in the lower corridors. It may be freezing cold, but it wouldn't be an adventure with out some danger. Besides I've got a floo connection to a killer wetsuit shop in California. So what do you say?"
