Jessica squeaked as she nearly tripped up the stairs to the fouth floor corridor, catching herself just in time. She smiled slightly as she continued on her way up the stairs, in a much better mood today than she had been in a little while. She’d resolved not to think about the school’s most recent event for the rest of the day and she was feeling a bit better. Plus she didn’t have class again today, which was always a good thing. So for now, she was headed toward the Gryffindor Common Room slowly, relaxing along the way.
She stepped forward onto the corridor floor and nearly slipped. She caught herself again this time, steadying herself with a hand against the wall. Some old guy in a nearby portrait started to laugh at her and she rolled her eyes. How rude. She didn’t stand there laughing at him because he was stuck inside a picture, did she? Ignoring him, she looked down at the floor. It seemed the house-elves or someone else had just waxed the floor, making it super slippery. She was going to just walk along carefully as she could to the next level when she had a different idea.
Grinning, she swiftly leant over, still supporting herself against the wall, and slipped off her shoes. On her feet, she had her bright red Gryffindor Pride socks that’d she bought at some little shop in Hogsmeade one day. She let her right socked foot slide forward gently, testing the slipperiness of the floor. She nearly fell again as she did so. Perfect. She back up slightly to the stairs, pausing to make sure no one else was around. Yay.
Taking a breath, she ran up the last few steps, holding her shoes in her hand. She jumped off the top step and landed on the slippery hallway floor, pushing off with her left foot. She laughed as she slipped and slid down the corridor.
Yeah, she knew she was probably way too old to be doing this but who cared?? She was having way too much fun to stop.

Cory was wandering the corridors and heading up stairs. Where was he going? He had absolutely no idea! But it couldn't hurt for some excersize or something right? So he kept on walking. Passing students in little groups as he walked. A few of them he'd tap on one shoulder but be standing on the opposite side so that they look the other way. Immature? Maybe...Fun? Dam right it was. I mean it was the classic Opossite Shoulder Tap... and you have to love the classics.
Anyway, Cory continued walking and turned a corner. Just as he did so he saw a girl sliding right at him. "EEEEEP!" was all the poor gryffie got to say before. WHAM! Cory was bowled over like a bowling ball. Now he was all sprawled out on the floor, as was the girl who was playing the part of the bowling ball. He stood up quickly and rubbed his head. "Pleasure to meet you..." He said and laughed. It WAS a pleasure to meet this person but... it may have been a bit better if it was in a different way then him falling on his butt.
He reached out his hand to help the girl up. Although the floor was quite slippery and he slipped a little. He regained his balance though and held out his hand again to help her up. "Did you do this to the floor yourself?" He asked curiously... He wasn't sure how she could... unless she had some sort of waxing defice or something. It's kind of funny though, I mean you never know who you're going to run into... literally...And figuratively. "My names Cory Benson by the way." he added with a smile.

So there she was, slipping and sliding down the hall when a boy turned the corner up ahead. She squeaked in alarm and flailed her arms, trying to stop herself. But the floor was too slippery and she ran right into him, knocking them both to the floor. She tumbled along the floor for a second before stopping; she’d been going way too fast. WHOOOPS. She winced slightly, afraid he’d be upset and start yelling at her. Most of the students lately weren’t exactly in the best of moods…
She was about to stand when she noticed he was already on his feet and offering his hand to help her up. And he was…laughing?? She breathed an inward sigh of relief, grinning at him as she took his hand and stood up. “Thanks. Pleasure to meet you too!” she said, laughing slightly. “Sorry about that!” She had quite an apologetic look on her face; she probably should look better next time before she did a stunt like that… She turned slightly, surveying the rest of the hall but there didn’t seem to be any other students there. Which was probably a good thing
She laughed gently as he asked her about the floor. “No, I think someone else waxed the floor or something. That’d be awesome if I could though. I’d be up and down the halls all day…hopefully without running into anyone else like that…” she said, a wry smile on her face. “I’m Jessica Thompson,” she said, smiling as he introduced himself. She could just be glad it wasn’t a staff member…or a professor she had knocked into, she supposed. She looked back down the hall before turning back to Cory. Ohman. That had been fun.

"Oh don't worry about it, it was actually quite fun... until i hit the floor..." He said and laughed. The girl seemed a lot older... well not OLD but not like a first or second year. Cory thought it was pretty cool because she seemed like him. I mean he was growing up but he would never pass up a time to do something as kick butt as this. And this girl must have felt the same way, which was cool.
"...Dude that would be awesome... If you ever find a waxing contraption, you'll have to tell me. I bet we could get to classes faster... " Oh yes the possibilities were endless. Man, Cory really hoped that she found a waxing contraption... it would be a blast. But for nowwww, maybe they should just make do with what they had right? ;D
"So... ummm... " He said looking at the slippery hallway with wide eyes. He couldn't help it, it looked like too much fun. "What do you say... we ummm... take another slide on this thing?" he asked and then smiled. "And don't worry... if someone comes... I'll just tell them it was my idea..." Cory didn't really care... this was worth it. A frickin' slippery hallway... it's like a slip and slide minus the grass and mat that make falling a tiny bit less hurtful.

Jessica laughed as Cory spoke. “Oh, I definitely will let you know if I ever find a waxing contraption,” she said, grinning. The thought of sliding to class every day made her laugh again. Oh man, just think if she slid into Professor Lathen’s class one day; she could just see the look on his face. Or Professor Wilke’s class….but she was just not going to think about that one. She turned slightly as she heard a muffled noise behind her. She saw the same portrait who’d been laughing at her before…and was now laughing hysterically at her for smacking into Cory. Stupid portrait. Without thinking, she stuck her tongue out at it. Something she hadn’t done in a very long time. And then she realized it probably didn’t make her look very seventh-yearish so she quickly stopped.
A spark of interest lit up in her eyes as Cory suggested they take another slide down the hallway. She grinned excitedly again. Finally. Someone who understood the little kid inside of her!! “Yeah! Sounds good!” she responded eagerly. She glanced around the empty hall. Well, empty except for them of course. And those portraits… well, she could only just cross her fingers that she wouldn’t run into anything or anyone this time. She turned back to Cory, a glint of happiness in her eye. “Should we go at the same time then?” she asked, her legs tensed to take off again. She hadn’t done anything like this since her first few years at school with Jesse and Xaver.

(( Im soooooooo sorry i totally forgot about this thread man... *sniffle* Sorrry... but I replied noww. ;D ))
"Awesome!!!" he replied. Dude now he REALLY hoped she'd find one... and you best be sure Cory would keep his eye out too. "If i find one, I will tell you... But only WE can know about... Keep it a secret between us yah know? Cuz if students found out about our waxing contraption... they'd get all these crazy ideas of there own and be hounding us for it, day in and day out...So it's best we make it our little secret." he said with a grin.
Of course, Cory didn't expect to find one... but if either of them did... he wanted to make sure she knew the plan. He watched her stick her tongue out at the painting. "Yah know, if he is bothering you... you could always just do this..." And with that Cory walked up to the portrait and took it off the wall. Then he walked with it around the corner and hung him up on that wall.
Cory wasn't sure if you were allowed/could just take a portrait off the wall and put it onto another but, HE JUST DID FOLKS. He walked back over to where Jessica was standing. "All tooken care of." He said and slipped his shoes off so he was ready to go. "Of course we should go at the same time then... We can race if you want? But I'm sure you'd just be too embarassed after i'd totally beat you. " he said and smirked. A little friendly competition was always fun.
