It had been an overwhelming couple of days for Kay. She normally chose to let her siblings bathe in the limelight and be the centre of attention, because she didn't much like it. But ever since her letter came her whole family, siblings included, had been fussing all around her. They were incredibly proud, and more excited than Kay was herself. Now all eyes were on her and she was being fired questions about classes, people and what was going on.
There were a lot of people in the school. More people than she had ever come across before. There was always something going on somewhere, and the noise of people laughing and shouting. So she immediately retreated to the furthest place away from that she could think of. She had picked a corner right at the back and alternated between writing a letter home, making up excitement and enthusiasm, and reading a rather chunky novel.

The library was an unusual place for Braxton to be headed. He didn't often have an excuse to go there, and for that he was glad because the librarian scared him out of his wits. But desperate times called for desperate measures. It seemed like he had only been at Hogwarts for a few weeks, but his homework had piled up into a mountain that was too intimidating for Braxton to climb. After some nasty threats from his teachers, Braxton decided to start chipping away from his workload bit by bit. He now went to the library far more than he would have liked. He quietly approached the door of the library, not even taking the time to flip his hair. The librarian could see all and could hear all ... Braxton did not want to unleash the beast.
Quickly, he shuffled to the back of the library and found a secluded table. Plopping his textbook on the table a little to loudly, Braxton began to learn of the fascinating world of pixies. After fake reading line after line, the words started to blur and he felt his head bobbing dangerously close to the table. He needed to find some excitement ... quick. He looked around at the other tables and saw a girl scribbling on a piece of paper. She looked very familiar, but Braxton couldn't be sure. She seemed rather contemptuous and blue. Perhaps he could make her day better. He tried waving his arms to get her attention, and in frustration, he finally called out, "Hey! Do you want to do something fun?" Very original, very suave. "After all, if it was a break for me, I wouldn't choose to be here. Unfortunately, my teachers have taken my agency to choose." He sighed and rolled his eyes very dramatically. Every one at school seemed so down at Hogwarts. It was ridiculous! The ghosts, the teachers, and especially the students. He supposed that people needed to loosen up. He needed to loosen up. What better way was there to do that then to push comfort levels and see what happens?

Kay was oblivious to everyone and everything else as she finished up her letter. She jumped a mile as there was a loud thud on the table next to her. She turned to look, blinking rapidly, like a startled rabbit. When she saw it was somebody with a hefty textbook she relaxed somewhat, and went back to her work. Glancing over her novel she noticed him about to fall asleep on his book and smiled slightly to herself. She sort of recognised him, and as she generally stayed away from people, she realised it must have been at the sorting ceremony, which put him in the same year as her.
She let him get on with it, slipping back to her own little world. It was purely accidental that she had no idea he was trying to get her attention until he shouted out, much to the surprise and annoyance of other students. She looked up from her book. He seemed to be talking to her? She turned and looked around her just to check but nope, he was definitely addressing Kay. She wasn't quite sure how to respond.
"Um, me?" her voice was quiet, "Fun?"
She had to admit she was intrigued. She neatly put her book face down on the table so as not to be rude, and directed her attention towards him. She wondered just what exactly he had in mind and tilted her head inquisitively.
"What do you mean?"

Finally, he had the the girl's attention. It only took ten minutes ... But in all that time he hadn't thought of what fun there was to be had in the library. Was that even a possibility? He quickly glanced around at his surroundings and leaned back in his chair, hands behind his head. "I really hadn't thought that far ... I'm assuming you like to read," he said with a sly grin. "Maybe it's that hulking thing in your lap. And do you like to write as well?" Braxton asked. A thought was formulating somewhere in the back of his brain. In a joy sucker such as the library, it seemed like there would be a lot of need for laughter and lightness.
Books, paper, fun ... It was like an episode of Blue's Clues. The answer was obvious, yet it eluded him. Suddenly, he gasped in surprise and attempted to snap. Unfortunately, that was a skill that he didn't have and it ended up looking like he was incredibly stupid. He laughed nervously and looked around for the librarian, because she could smell failure. Not seeing her anywhere, he sighed a breath of relief and returned to the girl, who seemed interested in the prospect. "Maybe we could write encouraging or funny things on paper and stick them in the worst books that students rare required to read." The words tumbled from Braxton's mouth like water flowing from a font. It seemed good enough to him, and he pulled a quill out of his bag in anticipation but remembered his manners as he asked, "What do you think?" He knew that he still had homework to do, but he figured that in life, this was what would profit him most. With a fleeting glance at the paragraph he had half read about pixies, he stuffed his book into his bag and returned to leaning back in his chair.

In the ceiling thumps and rattles were audible, if somebody chose to notice them. The panels would shake once in a while, but nothing extraordinary. Yep, a regular day in the library.
"Holy potato I'm rusty!" Cassidy cursed herself, adjusting her spy equipment. She hadn't done this in ages, it seemed. Her goggles still fit and her black-suit still was snug as a rug, but her sneaky wire was all messed up. Cassidy heaved a frustrated grunty sigh before looking over at Troylie and giggling to herself. "Oh, you silly willy snake!" she whispered, before depositing her on her shoulder. It was showtime, baby.
"Alright..." Cassidy mumbled, adjusting herself, and making sure the wire was taut. She pulled her spy goggles down over her head, removed the ceiling tile, and she was in business.
Lowering herself slowly, she scanned the area. Clear. She giggled quietly, but soon silenced herself. She didn't wanna be known! She lowered herself a bit more before something jammed on her wire. "Ohnoohnoohno.."she mumbled, messing with it desperately to fix it.
BAM!
All of a sudden she went woooooooooooooooshing down really fast, before coming to a sudden stop about five feet above two students chatting it up in the back of the library. Cassidy froze, staring at the two. Oh boy.
