Sawyer needed a break from his father. He hadn't told him yet that he was in Gryffindor. He liked Gryffindor. He hated hating people. It was the thought to be friendly. He escaped to the lake. He sat down lakeside. He looked out at it. It was a rather hot day out. He liked that he met two Hufflepuffs and a Slytherin. He thought it was a bright start to a good future. The lake looked calm and still.

"Good grief, it's so hot outside..." The young Ravenclaw whined to herself as she walked along the lakeside. Such intolerable weather! Arya stopped walking and leaned over to retrieve a rock. She wound up her arm like a skilled baseball player and skipped the rock across the surface of the lake. At that very moment she regretted wearing shorts and a t-shirt rather than something she could easily swim in. Such is life.
Looking around at her setting, she noticed a young boy looking out in the lake. She couldn't tell if he was in deep thought, but regardless, he looked lonely. In all honesty, so was she. Although she had already met three other students, ones social circle could never be large enough! Arya skipped over towards the boy and put her classic welcoming grin on her pale face. "Hiya! I'm Arya from Ravenclaw, I'm kind of new here..." She trailed off and stuck out her hand. "Quite the beautiful day, isn't it? Way too hot but gorgeous nevertheless."

The lake seemed to be peaceful though the temperature was rising. He had a lot of hair so it was even hotter. He bit his li and discovered another girl. She was about his age. He shook her hand lightly. "I'm Sawyer from Gryffindor. I'm new here too. What brings you out here?" He asked. He nodded. "Almost good enough for a swim, but I didn't bring anything." He sighed a little. He thought the Ravenclaw was genuine and nice. He could tell that she would be something too.

Arya drew back her hand and placed both of her hands into her pocket. "Sawyer? Saw my what?" She chuckled, hoping that she didn't offend the boy. She had always wanted to use that joke since she read the Adventures of Tom Sawyer as a kid. Obviously this was probably the only chance in her life that she'd be able to use it.
"Well you see," Arya began, trying to remember exactly why she was out there. It wasn't because the common rooms were as quiet as a mouse on Christmas eve. Nor was it to escape the castle because at least the castle felt cooler than the outdoors. "I, well, uh, I actually don't know. I had been reading a book and decided to go on a stroll to the lake, I s'pose." She shrugged lightly and gestured towards the lake. "Silly me, I forgot to bring swimming clothing too!" Pondering, she wrinkled her eyebrows in thought. She could always go back to the dorms and grab something to swim in but that would be far too much unnecessary work.

"I know. My Dad was an outright git for choosing my name. My surname is Bones." Sawyer laughed a little. He read a lot too. That made his Dad mad. He thought his father only skated by on looks alone. That was why he had different people home every night. You could hear stuff. He wished he didn't hear the things that went on. "I came here to escape from my Dad. He just isn't the type of person that comes home the same everyday. He needs to be more sober." He said with a sigh. He smiled a little when she mentioned she forgot her swimming clothes too. "Does that mean we swim with what we have on?" He asked.

"Sawyer Bones?!" Arya chortled, slamming her hand against a tree and essentially dying. "That's awful! Jeez, and I thought my parents were bad." After taking a moment to calm down, she suddenly felt kind of bad. "Sorry, I don't mean to offend you." She said after a moment, thinking that she would probably feel bad if someone made jokes out of her name. "Your dad drinks a lot, huh?" Arya said, now feeling even worse for making fun earlier.
"Since you came to escape that, I'll certainly make sure you have fun!" At his suggest of swimming in the clothes they have on, Arya frowned. Dirty lake water all over her clothes? Not that big of a deal... "Sure! Last one to the lake is a rotten egg!" She stuck out her tongue and started running to the welcoming water.

Sawyer sighed and nodded as she made fun of his name. "I hear it a lot. It really doesn't offend me much anymore. I kinda get used to the jeers." He said and nodded by her next question. "He does. He tells me though never to drink. I think it has to do with all the people he brings home. We don't live in a big home. We just live in an apartment." He said with a sigh. A smile came up on his face when she said that she was going to make sure that he has fun. He got up and ran to the lake. He jumped in. He went under a little and came back up. He parted the hair out of his eyes. He waited to see if she came up yet or even jumped in.
