As Lexi threw open the doors to the great hall, well rather shoved them open as far as she could to allow them all through they were damn heavy those things, she did feel like rather a grand tour guide showing people around some kind of museum or something. The effect was not diminished any at all by her struggle to open the doors in some dramtic fashion, well certainly not by Peter's reaction to the sight that lay behind them.
The Great Hall certainly was a grand sight to behold, but Lexi loved the enchanted ceiling beyond everything else that it had to offer. Once they'd gotten inside, Peter too seemed to see the appeal of food. "Yeah this is where we eat, amazing isn't it?" Lexi grinned. "Right, Ravenclaw table is this one over here she gestured to one of the two centre tables, where they could all take seats to eat.
"Kevin the Gryffindor table is that one over there," Lexi pointed to one of the outside tables, "But sit with us for now, don't want to banish you over there by yourself for not being a Ravenclaw."

Kevin followed along obediently without saying to much. Instead using the beginning of the tour to take in his surroundings. Forming a map of the school in his mind knowing it would come in use later. A few minutes into their tour his eyes widened almost as big as the room they were now in. "WOW" That was about all that he could say. it wasn't as big as Dodger stadium back home, but remove the tables and there was more than enough room for a ball game.
Speaking of the tables, there were four of them. And each seemed to stretch on for half a mile. Once he table was pointed out Kevin jumped on top of it and began to do the ""Dougie"" followed by a failed attempt to moonwalk across the surface. "Oh yea bring on the food! We're going Sizzlin' we're going Sizzlin'" He sang along with his dancing.
"This is gonna be the best meal ever. I want steak and potatoes, ice cream, tacos, a big mac and where is my Pepsi?" His dance slowed to a mild shuffle noticing the others were watching. That is when it hit him, turning his attention to Lexi. Since she seemed to be the oldest and most knowledgeable of the group.
"Hey Lexi, I am curious about a few things. I mean I got my letter to Hogwarts as I am sure you all did. The train was at the platform as promised, and it brought me here. But I found it odd that besides myself there was only a few other kids on the entire train. And then when I arrived here, no one, not a single soul was at the station to meet us. Not one adult or anything to instruct me where to go. I was lucky to take the correct path and find the castle. Plus the letter was so vague. All it said was to be at the platform on a specific date at a specific time. No signature at the bottom, nothing. Now I know that the school has been closed for years and is supposed to be reopening soon. But my parents and nobody in my family has heard any details beside that. No clue who the new Headmaster was or any word of who would staff the school. Not one name. Doesn't any of you find it strange that we have been here half a day and not seen anybody, especially Staff? This could be a trap. We could all be in danger and I ain't even packin'"

Lexi had sat down at the long bench that travelled alond the entire length of one side of the Ravenclaw table, pondering just what to have to eat; the first years she was showing around also sitting and tucking in to the marvelous spread, when Kevin suddenly asked her a question.
It had been something she'd actually been wondering herself. She'd seen a few others wandering around, students, Professors, other staff etc but it wasn't nearly as bustling as it would usually be. "Well, I think they're still working on getting everybody back if you know what I mean." Lexi began, trying to answer Kevin's question when she didn't really know the truth.
She grabbed a platter of chips and added some to her plate, a frown wrinkling her brow as she pondered how to go on. "I mean the term isn't due to start just yet, and these days people just all seem to filter in in dribs and drabs, it's not quite the same as the old days when everybody came at the same time on the Hogwarts Express. I mean I always come on the Knight Bus as I only live an hour or so away from here, no point me going to London." Lexi shrugged.
"Sorry can't really answer your question Kevin." Lexi finally conceeded. Pouring herself a goblet of pumpkin juice, "I just hope it should all be a little more like you were expecting once the term begins." She smiled at the boy hoping he would be satisfied with her half answer. "So anyway, how's everybody like the food?"
