Ivy grabbed herself a seat on the Hogwarts express in an empty compartment, her brother had seen her onto the train and stashed her trunk up in the luggage rack before saying goodbye and heading off to his job at the ministry, so she sat waiting on the edge of her seat for the train to finally leave. She could not express in words just how keen she was to get to school, she'd been waiting for this day for years.
Her father always called Ivy his clever little witch, she was his favourite she was sure, and though she'd been a little sad that work had prevented him from being the one to see her onto the train, but she was going to go to school and do him proud. She would ace all her classes, be the next Hermione Granger if she could, she had it all planned out and would be damned if she let anything stand in the way of her plans.
"Oh, come on, lets get this train moving already!" She eagerly to herself, or anyone else who happened to be walking by in search of somewhere to sit.

Abaigeal never cared much where she sat, she wasn't afraid of being surrounded by kids she didn't know. She had been raised very sure of herself, since her brothers and father were always sure to remind her how special she was. She was spoiled rotten, but not a brat. Still, she couldn't seem to find a seat. Every compartment was stuffed to the brim with friends reuniting. It was a little intimidating to be new amongst people that had known each other for years.
So, finally, she found a compartment that wasn't overflowing. In fact, it was almost empty, only having a single occupant. That was perfectly okay with Abi, since it would be easier to get to know other girl without having to get to know a whole crowd at the same time. She entered the compartment with two of her brothers on her heels carrying her trunk. She wanted to go alone, but they all refused, and had even all tried to take the time off to go with her. Finally, it was settled that her two youngest, still ages older than herself, would accompany her father in taking her to the station. She had hugged him on the platform, a teary kiss, and then scuttled off to find a seat.
The boys stowed her trunk, hugged and kissed their baby sister, promised to write and quickly left the train. She sighed with relief and flopped down across from the other girl. She was going to miss her family, but she was too excited to be going to Hogwarts to feel sad. Plus, she couldn't wait to get out from under the overly protective arms of all of them.
"Hi!" Abi said brightly. "I'm Abaigeal, and I agree, we can't seem to get there fast enough."

Ivy heard a noise from behind her as the compartment door slid open and another girl wandered in. She looked to be about the same age as herself. She took up the seat opposite and expressed her own eagerness to get going.
A bright smile formed on Ivy's lips as the other girl introduced herself as Abigail. "Hi, it's nice to meet you Abigail, I'm Ivy. So is this your first year too?" Ivy hoped so, she wanted to meet some more pupils her own age, not that she was against being friends with anyone older, but they'd also already have experienced something of magical education before so it wouldn't quite be the same new adventure for them as it was for her.
"I've been looking forward to this all summer, really can't wait to get there. Do you know how long this train journey will last? Sorry I'm starting to babble now, I'm not usually like this." She blushed slightly and wished she hadn't beause it clashed horribly with her red hair.

Abi was practically bouncing in her seat unable to sit still as her hyperness spilled over. She had always been a energetic child, and she saw no reason to change for any of these people. Although, she knew that her overly happy demeanor irritated some people, her family had always stressed the need to be herself and she would be accepted by people that mattered.
"I know what you mean. My DadaĆ{DAH dee} was worried that the school would still be closed. When we received my letter, he almost cried. My brothers have been talking about Hogwarts and everything all summer just to be mean I think. Not really, of course, they just like to tease me. But, I couldn't wait."
Abi stopped sucking in a quick breath. She didn't even realize that she was rambling on at such a pace. She also hadn't noticed that Ivy had seemed to be babbling. Abi was used to running off at the mouth when she was slightly excited.
"No idea how long the ride is. I never thought to ask the boys. Hopefully not long, I wish we could have simply traveled by Floo powder. Then it would be like -poof- we're there. No waiting."

"I know,I was starting to really worry that I wouldn't get my letter and would have to go somewhere else. So you have brothers too then? Have they already graduated?" Ivy asked interestedlyand wondering if Abigail would have any more interesting and useful stories about the school she'd heard from them that they could share.
"My brother left a few years ago, he works at the ministry now but he told me lots of great stories about Hogwarts. To be honest I think he was lying about some of them, but I'll have to see when we get there." Ivy rolled her eyes, that was typical brother behaviour really wasn't it.
"I bet it's going to take hours." Ivy said a little grumpily as she slumped back in her seat, in reference to the train journey. "You're right, floo powder would be so much more convenient, why don't they think of these things. I mean a train? It's so..normal and so...boring."
