The Hogwarts Library is located on the third floor of Hogwarts Castle and contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. Overseen by Mary Anna Hansen, Christina knew the library is where students can go to peruse or borrow books to supplement their studies. She entered the Library with Britton following behind her, to see hundreds of shelves full of books.
She put her purse and backpack down at one of the student tables in the Library and set off knowing what she was looking for. She wanted to help Briton by getting all the different types of pets there were that have been at Hogwarts through the ages. After about 30 minutes and many trips to the table to drop of books she was done with the first part. She then proceeded to write down the information she found for Britton.
Pet Ideas
Pet Ferret is obvious as I own one.
Bunny
Binky was a pet rabbit owned by Lavender Brown. On 16 October, 1993, Lavender received the news that Binky had been killed by a fox, which greatly upset Lavender though she was convinced that her Divination professor Sybill Trelawney had predicted this event accurately.
Bats
Barny the Fruitbat is the mascot for the Ballycastle Bats Quidditch team. Barny is also featured in advertisements for Butterbeer, with the slogan Barny says: I'm just batty about Butterbeer!
Cats
There are the common everyday variety
- Kneazles
A Kneazle is a magical feline creature related to, and similar in appearance to, a cat. They have spotted, speckled or flecked fur, large ears and a lightly plumed tail, like a lion. They are thought to have separate breeds, like cats, and therefore vary in appearance. They make excellent pets if they like a witch or wizard. They have a very high level of intelligence, are independent and occasionally aggressive, and have an uncanny ability to detect suspicious and distrustful people. They can also safely guide their owner home.
Crookshanks
Crookshanks was Hermione Granger's pet cat. He is half-Kneazle,[1] as evidenced by his lion-like appearance, ability to solve problems on his own without aid or teaching, and clear dislike of and ability at recognising untrustworthy persons (even if they are transfigured).
Dogs
Dogs are used in both the wizarding and the Muggle world as pets or guardians. While normal dogs are considered harmless, some dogs like the three-headed dog Fluffy are highly dangerous.
Double-ended Newt
Double-ended newts are magical creature kept as pets by wizards. It appears to be two newts sharing the same body. Double-ended newts swim around a lot and their diet consists of algae. Double-ended newts can be purchased from the Magical Menagerie, at Diagon Alley.
Toads
A Giant Purple Toad is a magical toad. Its diet consists mostly of dead flies and other insects. It has a long, green tongue, and it likes to hide under objects, such as boxes. Its warts are used in the Dragon Tonic. Having warts removed annoys them, though, and they disappear into another hideout to spite the wizard who needs the warts. Giant Purple Toads were sold at the Magical Menagerie.
Tarantula
Lee Jordan brought this tarantula to Hogwarts in Harry's first year there. He kept this creature in a box while boarding the Hogwarts Express in 1991. Lee Jordan showed it to his best friends Fred and George Weasley on the train. Its whereabouts after Lee's journey on the Hogwarts Express are unknown.
Owls
Hedwig was Harry Potter's pet Snowy Owl.She was a gift to Harry on his eleventh birthday from Rubeus Hagrid, in 1991. Owls are used by wizards to deliver mail.
Birds
A hornbill was owned by Minerva McGonagall. Professor McGonagall used the bird to demonstrate the spell Fera Verto in front of her second-years' class.
Rats
Rats can also serve as pets for wizards and witches, although they typically only live for two or three years, and are not as popular as owls or cats.
When she was done writing it all down she handed the list to Briton.
"There is a list of possible pet ideas I think that will help," she said smiling
