Ian was having a crisis. He messed up his potion in class and now his fingernails would not stop growing. He had tried clipping them, but they had just continued to grow. He was having to hold his arms behind his back so that they didn't scrape the ground as he ran to the Hospital Wing. As he approached, he noticed that the area around the Wing was clear, which was good because he didn't want anyone to get hurt and he couldn't really control the pace of the growth anymore. Out of breath, he burst into the Hospital Wing and held up his hands. "My fingernails won't stop growing!" he exclaimed.
He wasn't sure what exactly he was supposed to do. Was he to wait here while his fingernails took over the entire room or would the Nurse perform a simple spell that would stop them immediately. He didn't want anything too drastic. After all, he was only eleven years old. He wasn't ready to die! He hadn't even hardly lived yet! As he waited, he looked around. It didn't seem to be too busy, but there were a few patients who were being tended to at the moment. "I guess I'll have to wait" he sighed, getting up to pace back and forth as he waited to be helped. "Why did I drink that potion?" he asked himself. It seemed like a simple lack of common sense now, but at the time it had seemed entirely appropriate.

After class was over Christina headed to the Hospital Wing as quickly as possible for the poor boy Ian was their with his never stopping growing nails. She was the assistant nurse for Nurse Garrison and she was going to do her best to help poor Ian. She ran quickly as possible and upon arriving their she noticed that Ian's nails had almost taken over the whole of the Hospital Wing.
Having to think quickly as a assistant nurse she remembered a spell she learned her first year. She removed her wand and pointed it at Ian saying "Finite Incantatum"[/color]. Hopefully if the spell worked it would stop the current spell that was growing his nails to outrageous lengths. "Hopefully that will work Ian its a spell that stops the current spell in action." she said with a worried look.

Ian couldn't help but notice that as his fingernails continued to grow and fill up the room, the nurses steadily worked with their other patients, seeming not to even notice him. How could they not notice? They were all the way across the room and his fingernails were probably long enough to tap them on the shoulder. After a few more minutes, they had filled up almost the entire room. His eyes narrowed as he watched one of the nurses climb through a tangle of his fingernails to get to another patient. They knew that he was here and waiting, with a rather dire situation, yet they continued to tend to their other patients. Before long, there would be nowhere for his fingernails to go.
Just as he was about to attempt to get up, a girl rushed into the Hospital Wing, taking him a bit by surprise. "Oh, well. Hi!" he said. He knew her from somewhere. She seemed really familiar. Then he realized that she was in a few of his classes, including his Potions class. So she had seen what had happened. "Thank you" he said, smiling in relief as his fingernails began to coil back into his fingers. Luckily, he didn't feel a thing...even though it sounded pretty painful. He looked up and saw that she was still wearing her Hufflepuff robes. "So you're in Hufflepuff, eh?" he asked, hopping up out of the chair, because his fingernails had shrunken enough to allow him that ability. "I'm Ian" he said, smiling. He was happy that she had cared enough to rush straight from Potions to help him out. The rest of the staff here certainly didn't seem to care. In fact, it seemed as though they hadn't even noticed when his fingernails had disappeared.

She was glad she gotten there in time to help she had noticed it seemed every other nurse was busy with other students and not paying attention. Christina had been noticed Ian in her Herbology/Potions class he seemed smart and he was sure hot looking. Though he was a year younger then him she was sure she wouldn't mind that if they went out together. She noticed her spell she cast on him seemed to start working as Ian's fingernails started to shrink back to normal size steadily but surely.
Ian said "Thank you" while smiling this caused her to turn red and give a slight blush and she looked to the floor quickly to avoid eye contact. Dam he's cute she thought looking up again as she regained her composure. "Yes I'm in Hufflepuff," she said smiling after he asked her. He said "I'm Ian." but all she heard was I'm single wanna be my girlfriend. "Sure I will be your girlfriend" she said smiling. Wait what she just do she finally realized what he actually had said "I'm Ian" she turned 50 shades red covered her mouth with her hands in shock shrieked and ran out of the Hospital Wing totally embarrassed.

Ian wasn't quite sure what he had done, but he watched in confusion as the Hufflepuff girl turned red. She then seemed to say "Sure, I will be your girlfriend" before flushing red again and running out of the room. He was so confused by the entire situation the he sat back in his chair and went blank for a few seconds. He wasn't even sure what had just happened. She hadn't even told him her name. All he knew was that she seemed to be around his age and that she was in Hufflepuff. She was cute. Ian didn't know whether he was even old enough to be dating, however, as he was only 11 years old. His parents would probably not be very happy about the idea. But he needed a friend or two.
He got out of the chair and looked out into the hallway to see if she had stayed nearby. He didn't even see a sign of her. "She...left?" he asked. She had been so helpful with his fingernails, and she had made sure that his situation was taken care of right away. She had been the first person to actually seem to take any kind of interest in him since he had been at the school, besides Amber, who he had met out on the lawns. He decided that he should probably look for her. He didn't want her to be embarrassed about what she had said for the rest of the day. He didn't think it was that big of a deal, and he wanted to be friends with her. She seemed nice. If only he knew her name. He took another look out at the hallway to make sure that she had really run away. Today was shaping up to be a really strange day. He ccertainly hadn't expected this much excitement when he had boarded the train for Hogwarts a few weeks ago.
