Jordan walked with his mother to get onto the train. Neither of them were talking much, they just didn't feel the need to. Jordan saw the train ahead of him and once they got there he stopped and faced his mother. She had a weak smile on her face and embraced him in a loving hug. "Bye Jordan, I do hope you like Hogwarts." she whispered in his ear. Mrs. Duram was a graduate of Hogwarts and she remembered her great time while going there. She hoped for the same great time for her son. Jordan hugged his mom and then stepped back. "Bye mom, I'll miss you." he said simply. They weren't on the best terms yet, neither of them recovered yet of the death of John Duram, Jordan's father. Jordan knew that it wasn't his mother's fault that she pushed him away, but he was still sad. He hated leaving his mother, knowing that she would be alone in their house, but she was the one forcing him to go to school.
Jordan gathered his suitcase and boarded the train. He found an empty compartment, glad to be able to be alone. He looked out the window and saw his mother standing there alone. Jordan sighed, but put on a weak smile and smiled at her.

Jordan felt the train start to move. "Here we go, I guess..." he sighed. He looked out the window one last time and waved to his mother. Jordan didn't know if he should be happy or sad. On one hand, here was a new adventure for his life, he could start over in this new place. On the other hand, he was all alone now, no one to lean on, no one to follow. Jordan sighed as he thought about being at Hogwarts.
Jordan looked out the window at all the trees and bushed whizzing by. He wished that he could feell happy, but he just couldn't. Jordan felt trapped inside his life, and didn't know what to do or how to escape.

"Um, can I have three chocolate frogs, and a box of Bernie Bott's Every Flavor Beans." Kordillia said, standing at the cat of sweets. Handing the lady the money, then accepting the sweets, she headed off towards a compartment, smiling as she went.
"Um, hello." Kordy said, seeing the boy. She smiled, gesturing towards the seat across the aisle from him. "Is this seat taken?" she asked. Unwrapping a chocolate frog, she popped it into her mouth, and smiled. "Want one?"

Jordan heard someone getting some food right outside his compartment. He wasn't hungry for anything so he decided to just stay there. He then heard the door open and a girl walk inside. He looked up at her and said "Hi" back. Jordan shook his head no when she asked if the seat was taken. "You can sit there." he said quietly. Then she asked if he wanted a chocolate frog, but Jordan wasn't very hungry. "Um, no thanks." he said quietly, but politely. Jordan then went back to looking out the window. They had been traveling for a little while and the scenery was pretty much the same. A few trees here and there, not much around. Jordan hated to be rude to anyone, but he just wasn't in the mood to talk.

Kordillia gave a small, ruefull smile, before sitting down. She put her feet on the seat across from her, and slowly opened the box of beans. Seeing as the train was so quiet, she suspected he just didn't want to talk, leaving her to her thoughts. Alright, Kordillia. You are coming back from your aunt and uncle's house. No problem.....Maybe Carma had kids!

Jordan sighed again as he was wrapped up in his thoughts. He knew that he was being rude to the girl sitting in the compartment, but he didn't know what to do. Jordan continued looking out the window and went back to his thoughts. How should I react with people? he thought. I can't be all sad and mopey in front of them all, but how can I be happy? Jordan was scared to talk to people in fear of growing close to them. Every time he became close to someone, they went away. He didn't want to risk anyone else leaving him.

Jordan looked up to see another girl wanting to come into his compartment. He nodded his head to let her know that he didn't mind if she entered. "Hey, I'm Jordan." he said quietly. Jordan then went back to looking out the window. He scooted a little closer to the window in case Heather was going to sit on his side of the seats.

Jordan didn't take his gaze off of the window, but answered the girls question. "Well, I'm not really sure; to tell you the truth." he shrugged his shoulders. Was he excited? Yes and no, he thought. I guess it will give me a place to start over....he thought. Jordan continued to sit and think about things.

Jordan kept his gaze out the window. He decided to turn the question over to the girl. "Um, what about you, are you excited?" he asked in a quiet voice. Then he started to think about the word "excited." It was such a happy word, something he wasn't able to feel at the moment. Jordan sighed and rested his head on the window, then closed his eyes. Riding on the train was making him tired.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Jordan replied with his eyes still closed and his head still on the window. "I'm nervous too." he said truthfully. He was also reluctant, he didn't want to leave his mother and the life he had known from before. Jordan had a problem of staying in the past, he had to learn to lean to the future and look ahead.

"Did your mom come here?" Jordan asked. He still had his eyes closed, but stayed awake to hear what the girl had to say. He then heard her say something about the view. Jordan opened his eyes and looked out the window. "Oh yes, it is." he nodded his head in agreement. Jordan opened the window slightly to get a nice breeze coming in. It blew his hair around.

"Oh, she did come here?" Jordan looked at the girl. "Yes, actually my mother did come here too." he said quietly. On one hand he was glad to have found that they had something in common, but then he was sad to think about his mother. She is probably all alone right now, Jordan thought to himself. He couldn't bear to think of her being alone. Jordan quickly shifted his gaze back to the window. He was close to crying, but didn't want to cry in front of a girl

"No, it's ok." Jordan replied back in the same quiet voice. After a little pause, Jordan decided to say something. "What house was your mother in?" he asked. Jordan did not want to be seen as rude, even though it hurt him to be talking about his own mother. It was good for him though, Jordan needed to learn to give up his past, and it helped him to talk about things.
