Jadyn's legs felt heavy like the couldn't move, but that was because she was shocked and near a panic attack, her heart beat got faster, and she found it hard to breathe again, as she always did in a situation when she was frightened and stuff. But it was also harder to breathe because of smoke, she felt like it was choking her, she coughed and put her hand over her mouth and started to run, running to get away from the flames and the chaos. This start of the term was horrible. But Jadyn stopped and rushed people to get away from the flames, she didn't want anything else to happen to anyone.
Though Professors and Abba and people were casting spells to protect and try to fight against the fire. She continued to run until she made it out of the clearing but she stood there watching as all the chaos happened. She wished she could help better, but all she was doing now was pushing people out of the way of trees and helping them out of the forrest. She herself was still in panic and shock and she wanted everything to just stop..The smoke was getting heavier as well, as people tried to put out the flames. It wasn't working.

Chaos reigned almost instantly as a wall of flames seemed to surround the ceremony. Almost bewildered, Jessica looked around, seeing students shrieking and scrambling about. Her eyes flickered toward Carma’s, seeing a strange calm in them before they flickered into an almost panic. She wasn’t sure what was going on but pushed her thoughts aside for later. As quickly as the fire had started, Jessica whipped her wand out of the pocket in her dress she’d put it in before walking across the grounds. And away from the safety of the castle.
Her heart pounded but she refused to let her emotions get the best of her. Her mind worked quickly as she remembered a spell she’d learned in Charms several terms ago. Man, school had paid off for once. Yelling, “Aguamenti!” she pointed her wand at the nearest flames, stepping forward slightly as the flames threatened to creep forward into the meadow. Hearing a sudden, more bloodchilling scream than some of the students, she whirled around, breaking concentration on her spell. Her eyes focused in on Arri and then flickered to where Arri was staring.
Her eyes narrowed as she saw the path being blocked by the flaming tree. And then she realized, with horror, that it had been the tree ABBA had been leaning against. She scanned the crowd for his form, wondering what in the world was going on. She wasn’t sure who had caused this, why they had caused it. Her eyes moved quickly around the meadow once more, taking in a few of the panicking students. She saw Professor Avery fighting off some flames and it she whirled back around, trying her best to keep the flames from spreading at the very least. Her thoughts focused in on ABBA, however much she tried to concentrate. What had happened to the new headmaster? And what was going on lately?!. First Arri, and now this funeral….and now ABBA?
Her eyes widened slightly as the fire grew in size despite her efforts. Backing away, she gave up with the spells, instead thinking only about the younger students and how to get them out of there. She searched the wall of flames, looking for any break in the fire frantically. She looked back up at Carma and then at the surrounding professors, wondering what was going on in their minds, what thoughts they were having. She could only be glad that she had always been good at controlling her emotions, had always been able to remain calm in the face of an emergency. And this definitely qualified as an emergency, a disaster in her book.

Girly scream! Torza was tired so she didn't understand everything that had gone on but she knew a good plot when she saw one! As Torza was no where near Abba she didn't feel the heat of the flames as badly as others and she wasn't next to the flames but she saw what happened and a high piece wail left her mouth. "Abba?" she cried out through the chaos. Not quite understanding anything that was happening she sighed as she thought about all the crap things that was going on in her life.
Carma was helping Donna with the fire but what could Torza do? Nothing really at all. Sighing again she shouted for help but no one was coming. "Will the water put out this mess?" she asked no one in particular, "We need to get Abba out!" she said put no one was listening. He was lost in the fire and Torza didn't want him to die. She didn't want any more deaths. Falling to the floor in pain over Hoda and everything she began to wonder whether or not life would ever be the same again.
((i know it is lame, I'm tired lol))

The flames grew even larger, and it was getting smoky and hard to see. She couldn't see Abba anymore, and many of the students were beginning to panic. The flames were spreading out, and Melissa began to feel even more trapped, until she saw Carma the Student Relations Advisor urging some of the others to move. Melissa didn't want to stand here anymore, and she was getting jostled by others trying to find their way out. Nervously she began to tug on Churro and Morse, trying to get them to move in the direction some of the others were directed by Carma.

Arri's face turned instantly white as she saw the tree falling near Abba and instantly the area was engulfed in even more flames. Another scream escaped her lips as she yelled out Abba's name, trying to hobble over to where he was but with her injuries it was too difficult. She looked aroudn to see what was going on as she heard a woman trying to put out the flames. The woman from the hospital wing, Donna was it? But then she saw her wand suddenly fly out of her hands, and, a woman behind her. Arri's eyes glared.
Quickly Arri turned away before anyone could noticed and looked towards everything else. Arri remembered what she had learned from one of her best Professors in school and she was thankful for it. She closed her eyes and concentrated, hard. Already her mind was clouded from everything that was going on but Arri forced herself, even with this traumatic event now occuring. She tried her hardest but it was so difficult, especially seeing Abba like he was, in the flames, unaware if he was alive or dead. "Cmon Arri, concentrate," she said as she felt a wave of emotions crashing against her body.
The emotions were rolling. A mixture of frustration, confusion, and even some forms of anger started to mix in because of all the events that had occured to her. The feeling of hurt and pain followed suit as her mind started to trail towards Abba and how he was now engulfed in the flames. Heartache and more stronger surges of pain followed suit as she lifted her head up to the sky and started to silently mutter a few words. And then she felt it.
The coulds above the forest were starting to form, dark and gray as the light from the sky started to fade away. Then a crackling in the sky signified what she felt next against her closed eyes. A sprinkling of rain started to fall upon everyone at the cemetary. Several tears started flowing from Arri's eyes as she kept them closed, concentrating till it was just the right time to let go, to control her power. The rain started to get stronger as her anger started to increase, now opening her eyes to look for anyone who dared to ruin this day, and even more so hurt Abba. Glaring as she looked around the thunder and lightning stated to crack and cackle while the surges of water falling upon them increased, now soaking everyone to the bone.

Morse, the formally bored out of his mind was now... still bored. He looked up at the trees when he started to smell.. something. And before he knew it, Melissa was shrieking with some other lady. He was about to move away when she grabbed his hand and held it tight. She was terrified he could tell. Her face was right and she was hyperventilating. Adjusting his glasses with his free hand he looked around trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Forest fires didn't happen out of the blue.. well.. sometimes they did. But not the forbidden forest. Teachers were shouting around and telling them to stay away but he couldn't figure out where else they wanted them to go. It was either right here or into the flaming trees.
He could feel his hand sort of get sweaty from Melissa's hand. But he wasn't about to let go. It was dangerous, and even though he was just as weak as melissa, he wasn't about to leave her to fend for herself. His bored eyes scanned over to the lady that was trying to put out the flames but within an instant her wand was snapped from her hands. ... what the.. So this was no accident. Someone was doing all this, and here they were stuck in the middle of it all because of the funeral for the 'might-be' dead guy. In other words, an empty casket.
Melissa started tugging at them to follow, and he did so in uh her pursuit.

...Ahhh so that's why it was in forbidden forest...
Cory sat and listened to the rest of the attendees. And then Abba started to speak. Cory was quite surprised, he'd figure concidering the current situation he was in, that he may not say a word and was just there to show respect. But Abba did speak, and his words were quite interesting and powerful. With him or against him... it seemed like there was no in between these days. Either people loved abba and were a 100% behind him... or they questioned him and started to wonder if he wasn't the right person to hitch there horse to after all.
Finally, Carma began to speak the final words of the service. And it was about time, Cory was getting quite hungry right about now. He was going to get ready to leave and go get some food in his belly. When he started to smell smoke, hear the panic, see the terrfied faces. And he himself started to possess the same terrified face. And how could he not? There was a dam fire. People started to run and flee in panic. Cory was just about to do the same.

Torza was staying at hogwarts for the students so what good would crying do? Nothing at all. Standing up again she looked around at the horrified children and decided to help even though she had spent her life trying to avoid messing things up what else could go wrong? feeling the rain fall down on her Torza sighed and shouted in a loud voice, "Nobody panic!" she didn't want any chaos and although that was hard to ask for when there was so much smoke and fire. "Everyone follow Carma" she added with a nod of her head.
"Cory!" she almost cried as she saw one of her best friends who she had not seen for ages. It was such a long time but now wasn't the time or place, "Get out of the way, be safe" she said before turning to the LAPD, "That's right follow her" she smiled at them all as brightly as she could. "Malcolm? Where is he" she cried a little. Still in a state of shock.

Jadyn motioned for some people to come over and get out of the way of the fire, and before she knew it, it was raining. Cold, freezing rain. Jadyn was getting soaked, whatever light makeup she had on was running down her face, her hair getting wet so she pulled it from the bun, no use to look pretty now was there? She shuddered in the rain freezing, but still trying to help people, panicking people. People who felt the same way that she felt. They just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. But she couldn't just abandon people. She couldn't just flee knowing people were in danger. She had too big of a heart for that. Plus a few people were there that she knew. But there wasn't fire to worry about now. It was raining. It would take care of that..

Post by Abba Bjorn Faltskog Jr. on Aug 3, 2008 19:44:39 GMT -5
Making his way towards the Memorial service, Abba Jr had been there just in time to hear the ending of his Dad's speech. He looked around as he watched the people giving his dad some looks as he walked back towards the tree. Abba Jr continued to look around as he saw his mother sitting there quietly. Surprisingly to many probably, Abba Jr walked quietly over and sat next to his mom. "Hey Mo-- I mean Arri," he whispered to her as he looked at her taking in everything that was going on.
Abba Jr had been looking non stop the past few months to find out who had done this to his mother. He had to pretend that she was not his son. Sure one would think that this wouldn't affect Abba Jr but it did. Even though he felt pressure, a lot of it, from his mother, Arri was still just that, his mom. No son would take the crap that happened to her lying down, especially not a Faltskog son.
As the service came to an end the fire suddnely erupted as Abba Jr looked around to see everything that was going on, even more so his eyes followed where his mother's were... at his father. "DAD!" he yelled but before he could even make it towards him to pull him away, the tree fell to the ground as he stopped to a quick hault looking in complete shock. He instantly heard the scream coming from his mother as Abba Jr watched her looking on in horror before suddenly standing there silent. He heard the yells of people trying to contain the fire and saw others trying to run away. This was absurd and looking at his mother he soon knew what she was up to. The rains started to come as he got towards her, by the time he pulled her towards him, Abba Jr felt the pounding rain storm that was created.
"Cmon Mo-, ugh, Arri, let's get out of here," he said to her as he tried to pull her away to safetly. With his wand out, incase anyone dared to touch him, Abba jr yelled out the spells to make a path in the fire before helping his mother rush to safety. He paused while he told Arri to go ahead of him, looking back towards where his dad had been, knowing he would need to search for his father. And, if he had found him dead, look for the murderer so that Abba Jr himself could kill that person, or group responsible, too.

Post by Professor Aaron Lathen on Aug 3, 2008 19:46:31 GMT -5
Aaron just looked around for some time, not sure what to do at this point. He had planned everything else, and the aftermath just wasn't something he had told himself to work on. Then again, Carma probably had an idea already, and he would let her work her magic -- apparently, that was quite literal. He watched Carma for a moment and noticed the spell hitting (hopefully) Donna, but immediately tore his eyes away. Everyone else was too busy to notice, and Aaron probably had some unspoken job to care for.
With a quick glance at the area Donna was watering down, the flames grew slightly stronger, but he didn't linger on the spot to make anything obvious. But then his eyes fell upon the pathway -- or, at least, once had been. Aaron had looked just in time to see the tree falling atop Abba, maybe crushing him, maybe suffocating him... Maybe both. But then a thought, a more overwhelming thought than "Abba was beneath a large, burning tree" took over.
The deed was done.
The clearing had been blocked off, the fire had formed a perfect circle and now the tree that had fallen was blocking the only exit. That is, the only clear exit. People could fly (those with flying animagi, anyway), people might be able to form another escape plan, but all that mattered was keeping them in, not how they would escape. Then again, knowing how to get out was a way to keep them in...
Aaron tore out his wand and looked around, looking for anyone who might try and ruin this perfect moment. Being a professor, anyone might only expect him to try and help -- but he moved quickly forward. "Get away from the flames, idiots!" he snarled at a few people. Oh, he played his part well. "Move!" He tried his best to move slowly, to focus on areas being tackled by water spells or any other means.
And then he felt something wet. More specifically, that something was rain. Aaron looked up -- it wasn't supposed to rain that day! And yet here it was, rain, storm clouds... He looked around, desperate; someone had to be doing it himself. As he looked around, the fire gradually spread, far enough to become stronger yet not too far to get out of hand. In his panic, he saw no one in particularly doing anything out of the ordinary for such a situation...
But Arri was standing there. She didn't have her wand out, she wasn't attempting to help. Or was she? It was worth a shot... With a little more effort, he sent a quick gust of strong wind toward her. Hopefully, Arri's weakness and the strength of the wind would do it. Aaron moved away from where he stood, far away, and then looked around. "Move, dammit! Get to the center of the clearing, or something!" The water would wash out the fire, he didn't have to pretend to help anymore...
But he focused harder, spreading the fire more, making it go higher and farther and stronger. It couldn't end now, it had to last longer...

Jessica was startled by the sound of thunder, her nerves a bit more frazzled then she'd realized they were. Her heart pounded and she suddenly felt faint, the smoke making her light-headed. She blinked several times trying to clear the feeling as rain began to fall around her, chilling her to the bone. She crossed her arms, holding tightly onto her wand and rubbing her arms up and down, trying to figure out all what had just happened in those few minutes. The rain had started almost as quickly as had the fire, coming seemingly out of nowhere.
She glanced around rather quickly, seeing some of the students calming down a little bit as the rain fell and fell. Lightning flashed and she winced involuntarily as another roll of thunder sounded. She was still a bit dizzy as she surveyed the crowd. Seeing Carma getting all the rest of the students in a circle, Jessica followed them, staying on the outside of the younger students. She didn't know what on earth to expect next but, with her wand clutched tightly in her hand, she would be ready for it.

Torza saw Jessica and slid her hand into hers. Hugging her friend tightly she whispered to her "We will be ok," but she didn't believe it. The flames were spreading and now Torza could feel the heat on her face. How could anyone survive that. Oh Abba. Oh Malcolm! Where was he! Hot angry tears slid down her cheek as she looked around for him. "Malcolm" she cried as she walked a few steps back. "Jessica" she cried again just glad to have a friend with her.
Thunder rolled and she shuddered in the cold. At least her dress was black and wouldn't go see-through, how selfish to be thinking of something as unimportant as that! Abba was pretty much dead and those who seemed to be helping him...was anyone helping him? He had a lot of enemies and who would be in charge of the school without him. "Jessica I'm scared" she whispered.
Then the fire seemed to die down again. What was going on? "MALCOLM!" she cried out once more.

Post by Carma Rousseau on Aug 3, 2008 19:58:40 GMT -5
Carma turned her gaze upwards as a little rumble of thunder proceeded the rainstorm that came just a few short moments later. Carma turned her head back downwards and conjured an umbrella spell over her head as water splashed into her eyes and began to obscure her vision. For good measure, she conjured it over a few students around her as well, trying to be as helpful as possible.
The thing was, it wasn't supposed to rain today, nor should it be so convenient.
"Move, move!" herding students into the center with a few other Professors, Carma caught sight of Arri, standing all alone without a wand. Well played, she thought, well played. Carma hated to touch her with a wand in the condition that she was in, but thankfully Abba Jr. had come in to save his mother, only seconds before Aaron subtly sent a gust of wind in their direction. Before she knew it, Arri had been pulled through a hole in the flames by her son, out of harm's way. Carma only smirked to herself... creative, she thought.
The flames, however, were suffering from the downpour. The fire hadn't had very long to catch so a good rain was doing them some damage. Aaron appeared to be trying to keep it going and raise the flames, but Carma knew that a rain like this would eventually exhaust the fire. If it rained too long it would certainly put the flames out, and Aaron would pass out from exhaustion if he fought this battle for too long.
"Move away, move away..." Stomping through the rain, Carma cast meager amounts of water on the weakest parts of the fire alongside her fellow professors, still wondering... just what had happened to Abba?
"Torza," Carma saw her nearby and called to her, gesturing to the people gathered in the center, "Get them out of here, will you? Think of something, work together, for the love of god, before any more of these trees fall..."
