Troy was sitting in the middle of the grassy lawns, his legs crossed and a smile plastered upon his face. He remembered some of his favorite memories had happened upon this lawn, most especially his own stinkin' graduation and suddenly he missed those times and those peoples and he wished that he could be young again, but alas, this is a lesson, DAMMIT... not a sentimental thread for an old coot. ANYWAY. He was sitting on the lawn. Okay. Next to him, tethered on several leashes to a pole stuck firmly in the ground, were about twenty little creatures. Though, they weren't particularly tiny... They looked to be oversized ferrets. HOWEVER, they weren't oversized ferrets. The students would just have to attend the awesome lesson to see what they truly were. [[Lesson will continue once more people post here, kthx.]]

Ash walked from the COMC classroom to the lawns upon hearing that the lesson would be taking place somwhere else. As he walked, Pert his Puffskin found his way out of ashes bag onto his shoulder to survey the scenery.
Ash finally make it do the part of the lawns where Professor Novus sitting. "Sorry about last class. I somehow had run into sickness. I went to my charms class and made it through there. Then finally when i made it Defense Against the Dark arts got so sick i had to leave class early." he said as he took Pert off his shoulder into his hand and stroked his back gently and found a seat on the lawns and waited for class to start

Kyla had made her way out to the COMC classroom only to find a sign on the door telling them to go to the lawns. Thankfully the lawns was partially right next door. Holding her bag closer to her as she headed to the lawns. Seeing one student there already and the professor she bit her lip glancing to the dogs. She was curious what they looked like. They.. did look cute. Tilting her head to the side she decided to wait for the professor to start the lesson.
Taking a seat down on the lawns she crossed her legs taking her bag off setting it on the ground. True to her word, she had indeed dyed her Puffskin a baby blue, using natural dyes of course. So no harm done. She had yet to name it, but was somewhat warming up to it. It was perhaps a good cuddler after a rough day. The creatures in this lesson, however, was making the Puff nervous so once it took a peak out it slid right back in deeper into her bag munching on some scented parchment. Leaning back on the palm of her hands she waited for the class to begin.

Well, students sure were coming in slowly today, weren't they? Troy wondered why and thought to himself that if more students didn't show up by the end of today, well, then, he might just have to retire (or dock points). Meh, he knew how students were, and it was unfortunate that most of the students in his class waited until the last minute to attend the lesson, seeing as Care of Magical Creatures should be a very interactive class but it was difficult to make it interactive when NO ONE WAS HERE!! Ah, well, that was beside the point (only it was the entire point). Troy stood up from his seat on the grass, wiping the dirt off of his bum. "Ah, it's okay, Mr. Vero, I understand," he said, even though he was hardly paying attention to what the Slytherin boy was saying. He ruffled the boys hair with one hand as he took out two plastic gloves with his other. Slipping them onto his thin hands, he picked up a damp sack that he had been sitting in front of. He reached down into the depths of the sack, pulling out several dead rats. Tossing them at the Jarveys, Troy turned to address the class as the creatures went silently wild. "Welcome to class today, students! Some of you may already know what these little guys are." Troy smiled in the direction of one of the Jarveys, who growled menacingly at him. Chuckling awkwardly, he turned back to the class. "Well, in case you didn't know, these guys are called Jarveys. If you come from a Muggle background, you might notice that they look a little bit like ferrets. However, they are just about the complete opposite. The former Hufflepuff pulled out his wand and grabbed the leash of one of the Jarveys. " Sonorous," he said calming, his wand pointed in the direction of the single animal. Suddenly, the Jarvey began to spit out horrible insults toward not only Troy, but the students in attendance. "Gingers don't have souls!" it blurted out, chuckling madly. "Look at your fat arse, I'm surprised you can even walk without falling over!" It was looking at Kyla now, but it quickly turned toward Ashton. "Your hair is horrid, you nasty --" At this moment, Troy cast the silencing charm on the Jarvey before it said something incredibly rude, insulting, and inconsiderate toward Ashton. Maybe Jarveys weren't the best idea... "Now, er, what you guys will be doing is sitting down with a Jarvey and attempting to conversate with it." Yeah... he was mad. "They will stay on their leashes, but there is still the possibility that they could escape and attack. Because of this, I will give each of you a small sack of dead moles, voles, and rats, which is what the Jarvey's diet consists of. If it seems to be getting particularly restless, just throw one of these to it and it should be fine. So, uh... let's get going, shall we?" [[ ASSIGNMENT! Basically, just roleplay out your interaction with the Jarvey. I will be making a Jarvey account so it's less confusing. PLEASE, DON'T TAKE ANYTHING THE JARVEY SAYS PERSONALLY! I will be forced to say some extremely rude and perhaps offensive things for you guys to fully understand the idea of the Jarvey. If you have a problem with any of these things, don't hesitate to PM me. Have fun with the Jarvey, folks! ]]

Ah, the great outdoors. It reeks of nature and poop, but is lovely nonetheless.
Charlie was excited! She had just spent her past lesson block outside with horses, and ... whaddyaknow?! She was going to be outside once again for Care of Magical Creatures. She saw plenty of her class mates strolling casually towards Professor Novus's postion, but her understanding was that punctuality was the new tardy. She was DETERMINED to be at least ... not late. Who was she kidding. She would never be the first to be at class *coughpostfirst* because she was just so darn lazy, but at least she tried right? O for effoooooort? :D
She looked at the ... thing in the Professor's hand and almost cried with joy. SHE LOVED WEASELS! And things that looked remotely similar to weasels. They were kinda like badgers ... except evil looking. She couldn't wait to interact with the thing! She hurried up to one and examined it. It wasn't that harmful. She could look right into its eyes and not be the least bit afraid. But as she heard the increasingly vulgar insults begin to pour out of her mouth, she wasn't so enthused. Charlie could feel her face melting.
Obviously, she didn't take critisim well.

"EW! Your hair looks like rat guts!" said the Jarvey to the newly arrived Charlie. Mmmmmmmm he was pretty clever, at least he thought so. Would teach those rotten kids to be so grotesque! "And you smell like the back a dumpster truck!"

OH NO HE DIDN'T! The Jarvey had cleverly insulted the two things Charlie loved most about herself. She clutched at her chest dramatically and replied to the Jarvey, "Is that the best you can do, flea bag?" Although she wasn't mean spirited at heart, she figured that the eye for an eye rule worked especially well in this situation. But she found herself worrying that this was the wrong thing to do, and she stared around at the other students interaction ... they all seemed pretty calm and collected (at least the non existent ones did). She turned her gaze back to the deceptively cute Jarvey and challenged his insulting authorities. "You were saying?" Just for kicks, she raised her arms up to check the status of her deodorant. Yup, still working fine. She lingered for a second in this position because she had a creepy fascination with good smelling things and then returned to a normal position, raising her eyebrow at the little weasel/ferret/creature thing.

Lexi found herself jogging down the lawns towards their next COMC lesson, she had almost forgotten to go up and collect squidge, her little puffskein, and bring him down with her and so was running a little late. There weren't that many others there when she arrived and so Lexi wondered if a lot of the rest of the class had done just the same thing she had.
But that thought was quickly pushed out of her mind as she heard the outbursts coming from the strange creatures that Troy had brought to this class. He was right, they did sort of look like oversized ferrets but the insults? Now that was strange. Lexi frowned, she couldn't quite understand the idea of this magical creature, it just shouted insults? Was that all it did?
Figuring she would find out as the class went on Lexi headed up to one of the Jarvey's and kind of sat near it a little awkwardly. Troy had said they could attack right? She shuffled a little further away, and wondered exactly what she was supposed to do, she didn't really want to sit and have a conversation with a ferret that was just toooo weird.
Clearing her throat Lexi picked up a dead rat by it's tail and said, "So ummm, want a rat?" Oh yeah that was a great start....

When Sophia arrived at the Care of Magical Creatures classroom and was re-routed to the lawns, she actually wasn't disappointed. With all of the rather drab lectures she'd been attending lately, a little change of pace was suddenly such a nice thing. She smiled a little as she made her way to the lawns, seeing the bright red hair of their professor, Troy Novus, and walking over to the rest of the class quickly. She had already been running a few minutes behind her usual, but the re-route to the lawns made her even more behind. Luckily she was barely on time and listened closely to what they would be doing for the lesson. She took her own sack of vermin in case the Jarvey were to get restless and could smell the putrid odor of the animals. It was disgusting, and she surely didn't want to touch it with her hands. She looked to Troy, who had gloves, and figured the idea was brilliant. She reached into her bag and pulled out the gloves she needed for herbology, sliding them onto her slender fingers as she moved towards the rest of the class that was associating with the Jarvey.
"Hey there little guy." She said politely with a rather slim smile. She was excited about the lesson but at the same time she knew that insults would be thrown. She'd just have to avoid taking them personally. IT was just a creature after all.

"Can someone tell me, then," said Troy, having to yell over all of the petty insults being thrown by the Jarveys, "why Jarveys are such interesting creatures and continue to be studied by wizards, even now?"

LEXI'S JARVEY! Mmmmmmmm rats! Without warning, the Jarvey stretched out his paw and knocked the rat from Lexi's hand, then consumed it whole. While he chewed, he decided to blurt out, "This rat smells better than you do, nasty!" As he spoke, some rat bits flew out of his mouth onto Lexi. "They make you smell better, how do you have any friends? You're nothin' but a nasty kid, I should bite your nose off right now!"
SOPHIA'S JARVEY! "Yeah, that's right I'm little, I could be squashed by your fat arse!" blurted out this Jarvey, who was a little less keen on eating anything and instead focused on this overweight ugly human. She sure was fat, wasn't she? "Maybe you should stop eating so much, you're about to burst from those clothes. You look like my mother did when she was pregnant, mustache and all!"

She was soooo late. It was hard moving around on these little legs, and it took her twice as long as other students to go the same distance. Plus she didn't enjoy running, especially when she had to run to class. She isn't supposed to be happy to go to another incredibly dangerous class in which she may die some horrendous death. Who likes that? Crazy people.
Whatever, she got there in time. The professor was kinda cute for an old guy, and his hair was an awesome color, not as cool as her hair color, but still pretty solid. But apparently he was completely bonkers, allowing them to interact with Jarveys. Nasty little creatures. She had read about them, not that she would admit that secretly she was a nerd who enjoyed reading books and writing essays. They would insult you until you felt the need to slit your wrist to escape from it's tirade. "Wait... I have to talk to that? My therapist won't like this one bit," she said matter of factly. But she needed to get good grades, or her fathers would take her out of school and send her back to muggle school. They already thought this whole establishment was a joke, a place to send your kids so they could become side show freaks.
She grabbed the gloves she had in her bag and a few rats and slowly made her way toward the Jarvey. "Hello there you little devil, want a lovely rat to curb your appetite?" she said inching closer and closer to the creature. She readied herself for the onslaught she was about to take. Hopefully she wouldn't cry. She had already cried once this week in class and she was not looking to make that her M.O.

When the creature didn't say anything and simply snatched the rat out of her hands, where she was admittedly holding it rather gingerly not really wanting to hold onto a dead rat, Lexi jumped and let out a little squeak of fright. She'd been sure for a moment that the thing was going to attack her like Troy had said it could.
When it didn't and instead proceeded to eat the rat Lexi relaxed a little. Thinking she might have just gotten away with a quiet Jarvey as it munched away Lexi started to smile to herself but was apparantely feeling relieved much too early. Given the insults she could hear from around the rest of the class Lexi thought she was getting off pretty lightly, it was telling her she was smelly which was rubbish obviously, she'd showered only that morning. Although the addition of the rat guts it sprayed over her didn't help so much.
"Yeah well I certianly smell now!" She exclaimed in disgust as she brushed the half chewed bits of dead rat off of her. Though the Jarvey's last comment made her recoil and little in fright. Probably a bad idea, to let it see that she was a little afraid of it, but she really didn't like the prospect of having her nose bitten off either and it seemed the lesser of two evils.
"Oh well, if I don't have a nose then I won't be able to smell myself will I and I won't care if I smell bad." She replied not at all sure her response was a good road to go down either but she was beginning to panic a little. She had absolutely no idea why wizards would want to further study this creature and so had no answer to Troy's question but she sure would like to know what the answer was because surely it had to be pure lunacy.

"KISTEN'S" JARVEY! "RAT? I dunno if I wanna take a rat from you, you weasel-lookin' flea bag freak," said the Jarvey, though he was pretty sure he still wanted the rat. Don't judge him, rats were very tasty and he wasn't about to pass one up. "... Okay fine," he said, then waited for the rat to be thrown into his mouth. LEXI'S JARVEY!The Jarvey cackled as Lexi recoiled. MUAHAHAHAHA!! "That'll show you, you nasty-smellin' heathen! You need to run back to your mummy before something really happens." Ooooh, then she said she wasn't afraid of losin' her nose?! HA! Everyone was afraid of losing his nose, even him, and he was the one bitin' it off! "So I can eat your nasty little nose? 'Cause I will, despite the amount of nose hairss. Do you ever trim? You should look into it. Yet another reason why no one likes you, blimey in hell's name..."

Welll... since no one seemed to know... Troy figured he would share his fabulous knowledge with the class. Especially seeing as he was, you know, the professor and all. ;D "Well, you see, kiddos, Jarveys are one of the only magical creatures known to be capable of human speech. It confuddles wizards that they don't know why this is so, so they continue to study the brain and vocal cord structure of these somewhat crude animals to find the link between Jarveys and humans."
